The experience has been great! I received a ridiculous quote from another company that had some sale scare tactics and I decide to call Shocking Difference to give me a quote. The communication was thorough and scheduling was easy. TJ arrived on time and gave us a more honest and educated assessment on our electrical panel. The quote was definitely fair and there was no pressure or any crazy sale tactics. I appreciate the honesty that was provided from this company and would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a fair quote and honest assessments. We recently had Yasser and Nash from Shocking Difference come out for a service call to fix some lighting issues, and we couldn’t be more impressed. They were incredibly responsive and professional from start to finish. Not only did they walk us through several options to resolve the problem, but they also went above and beyond by converting our older kitchen lighting to modern LED can lights. The entire job was done in just a few hours, and the results are fantastic. Our home is now noticeably brighter and feels much safer. Highly recommend!

Jared was super friendly and great at communicating with me through the whole evaluation process. I havent hired him for the job yet, but the evaluation for the work that needs to be done was thorough and he gave me multiple itemized lists of the potential cost depending on which route we want to take for how to fix the problem. He also did a safety check and was able to identify a few things that are still working but are past their expected expiration date so we can know what work will likely need to be done in the future.

Once again another absolute top notch service provided by Shocking Differences. For this appointment we had Jacob Johnson install new lights over the Kitchen Island and dining room table and troubleshoot what was causing one of our circuits to trip. He arrived within the scheduled time ready to complete the job. Jacob’s attention to detail, technical competence and sincere professionalism impressed both my wife and myself. His level of expertise and self confidence was very impressive and I truly appreciated him taking the time to explain the specific details to me. Jacob’s job performance was superb and clearly going above and beyond my expectations ensuring that everything was completed to my satisfaction. Overall, an extremely perfect job by another professional and qualified technician from Shocking Differences which always promotes quality service while insisting customer satisfaction to be their top priority.

Shocking Difference was at our residence to install a manual transfer switch for us. The showed up late on the date of our appointment 4/14/22. They did wave there service fee for being late. Due to the fact that they had to order parts they were unable to finish the project. I never received a call when the parts arrive. I had to call them to check and see if they had received them and schedule the second appointment. They came out on 5/6/22 to finish the project.
A couple days later I had a light flickering issue in our bathroom. I ordered some replacement bulbs and when they arrived I replaced the one that I thought was the issue. Things seemed ok for a while and then we started having the same issue again only the fan was fading out as well. I went and checked the breaker box and you could hear electrical noise coming from it.
I called Shocking Difference and tried to schedule an appointment to get someone back out. The receptionist told me the soonest I could get an appointment was a month out. I explained to her we were leaving town and that we needed it looked at sooner. She just suggested that we just use another bathroom.
I hung up and called another electrician and he was able to squeeze us in within the next three days when I explained my issue.
When he got there he opened our panel and immediately shut that breaker down. When he removed the front of the panel he pulled that breaker and found it was broken and was arcing out. Additionally the breaker next to it was zip tied in and the zip tie was not allowing the broken breaker to seat properly. Which he believed broke when they tried to tighten it down.
Now I can’t 100% say that this was done by Shocking Difference but, they were the last people in the panel and the issue started shortly after they completed there job. I do know that they showed no urgency to get back out and look after I explained our issue.

Since my original review Winona from Shocking Difference has reached out to me and apologized for the above issues. She genuinely seemed to care and was very generous with her refund and she personally deserves 5 stars. I have changed my original rating from 1 star to 3 stars. I wish I could go higher but, the fact that we could have had a fire and who knows how much damage just doesn't allow me to go to 4 or 5 stars with the experience we had. I will say this I believe ownership/ management takes these things very seriously and if the situation arose and I needed an electrician I would use Shocking Difference again.

Was getting an estimate for home backup power generators. They were courteous, professional, and thorough. Also did an electrical safety inspection and explained the results

This is our third experience with Shocking Difference. All requests were quick to respond with technicians being professional, skilled, pleasant, and trustworthy. This most recent visit involved a ballast replacement in an older flourescent light fixture. Jake and Chuck were extremely efficient in getting the job done well in a very short time frame in response to my own limited availability for the day. Can't remember my kitchen ever being so well lit! Shocking Difference has proven to be reliable and fair priced and will be our "go to" service company for all future electrical needs.

Josh and Max came to my house because my meter box was toast. They diagnosed the problem pretty fast, and were very kind and honest about the issues and pricing. Very down to earth guys. Problem is all fixed now! Will definitely use this company with any more electrical issues.

Just had 2 guys come out to look at a single receptacle, quoted $512 JUST to look at it. Do not use these clowns, black hills, reliable or capital electric are all better choices.

Edit: just got a phone call from someone telling me I was wrong that they were going to charge me $512 just to diagnose the problem, playing semantics... do NOT use these people, they overcharge...use any of the ones I mentioned above. Do not let the response from the owner below me confuse you, they DO charge more than just the outlet. I asked only for the outlet to be fixed and they started out at $512. Then tried charging another $120 for a new outlet. Stay away from this company at all costs if you value your money.

Manny and Nash came out at 10 AM, were prepared, clean, quick, and friendly. Totally professional! And they fixed the problem and explained how they fixed it. Couldn't ask for better service. Thank you!
