Eric toured my yard pointing out the positive aspects of my trees, how they were responding to wounds they had suffered and listened to my expectations. His crew did a great job of trimming and removing unwanted limbs. They cleaned up afterwards and even removed tree trimmings I had gathered from my previous yard work. I contacted Sound Tree Care after a friend recommended them. I in turn have recommended them to an other friend. I am very pleased with their work.

I contracted with this firm to prune two fruit trees. Their initial quote was high, but I went ahead. I found out later that they based their quote on the assumption, based on an on-site visit, that it would require 3 people and that they charged $150.00 per hour for each person. The total estimate was nearly $700.00!! One person showed up and completed the work in about 2 hours, and yet they still wanted me to pay the original estimate. I objected, and was finally able to get them to reduce the price by $200.00; even that was exorbitant. The work completed was fine, but I will never use this firm again.

Sound Tree Care recently completed work on the trees in our yard and we couldn’t be happier with the results! This is the 2nd time Sound Tree Care has done work on our trees, in particular 3 large Leland Cypresses in our small backyard. When it comes to work on our home or yard, we are pretty picky customers and this company is the absolute best one that has ever done work for us! Very easy to work with from scheduling a quote to the finished job, very timely with communication, punctual with arrival & Jon start, and VERY professional arborist and crew! They were very careful of our neighbor’s trees and plants as well as other plants in our yard. Cleaned everything up! Trees look amazing! Highly recommend this company. It is really hard these days to get truly quality work done and Sound Tree Care does it!

Sound Tree Care provided excellent service. They arrived on time, and got started trimming branches on a number of large cedar, fir, and pine trees, and removed all of the branches and debris.

We got several quotes for our tree removal and not only was sound tree care the best they were also the most considerate and professional. They came out to evaluate the tree and did not rush to throw out a number. Zach took the time to talk through all of our options. They are experienced in working with the city of Seattle and the tree code and doing things right. I really appreciated the care that the whole crew took, and how they listened to our requests to save a log to be milled. I would highly recommend Sound Tree care of you are in need of any tree work or a proper arborist evaluation.

Hedge had not been trimmed - ever, and these guys took care of it in an efficient and transparent manner. Well done and thank you!

Had a decent experience with Sound Tree. Contacted them through their site for tree pruning and ivy removal and got a response a few days later.
The day of the tree pruning and ivy removal appointment, I waited a couple of hours after the time that they texted they would arrive only to receive an update that they’d be late (a little inconvenient since I commuted to the property that morning at 6am to get there for the 8am appointment). The crew worked several hours and seemed like they were about to leave but luckily I was outside checking out their work so they let me know that they were not done yet and left. I contacted them the next day to set up the next appointment and waited another 2 days for a date/time range. Not a complaint because I understand that businesses get busy sometimes, just giving a general idea of the timelines for me.
Overall, an ok experience (setting up appointments and the work itself was ok but the lack of prompt communication on tardiness and the cleanup was not great). Their bid was less than another one that I got. The ivy removal from the trees was good but when they trimmed the trees, they disposed of most of the larger pieces of debris and then just used a leaf blower the blow the rest into the bed of ivy under the trees (I watched this happen and didn’t think too much of it but didn’t realize just how much was being blown in there). We’re currently removing that bed of ivy ourselves and find we are having to clean up after them. We had some planks of fencing by the trees that we were going to use to patch our fence but they were gone after Sound Tree left; in their place are 5-7 larger pieces of the branches that were cut (about 8 inches in diameter and at least a foot long each).
Would I hire them again? Probably not. Would I recommend them to others? Probably not. But if you’re thinking of hiring them, I wouldn’t stop you. -
Highly recommend Sound Tree Care: I would recommend Sound Tree, for tree care services. My neighbor and I recently needed a tree removed on my side of the property, which affected my neighbor as well. The crew arrived in a timely manner. Cleared out the tree and chipped the branches into mulch. I truly appreciate the care they put into their work. Easy web/text communication and payment or financing options are provided. I have a couple of other big tree removal jobs, and plan to call Sound Tree back for another estimate. -Frank

A rep came out and inspected our tree that needs trimming. He was great, no fault there. A quote was generated, and I asked for a timeframe for work before approving. A time frame was given and I approved the quote. A week goes by with no contact from them. I reach out, and they explain that a truck was down and they would update me within one week. I understand that mechanical issues happen, but the lack of communication is not ok. The week passes and no reply, so yesterday I message them again. No reply. I message them today. No reply. I call several times. No answer.
Also, in writing my review, I notice that almost every single negative review is met by a snarky response, or an accusation of a fake review, from the company. Not very professional, just like their customer service. -
We had a concerning large branch hanging over our roof. I called Sound Tree Care and they came same day to assess the branch. We were able to put down a deposit within 2 days and it was scheduled 5 days after that. They arrived 2 hours than scheduled (we were pleased they arrived early) and they were fast taking down the branch and putting it into the chipper. The foreman spent some time chatting with my husband about the other trees in our yard and gave us good tips, and when we should call them again. Very fast, professional and quick. Their costs were reasonable for what we needed. I highly recommend them.

Sound Tree Care were very pleasant and responsive! They did a good job trimming back the hedge and we will hire them in future.

Sound Tree Care helped us when a large tree fell on our house. They were prompt and did a great job clearing the tree from our structure.

This company was outstanding. The office got us scheduled quickly and when they realized on A Friday that they couldn’t finish, they came back first thing Monday. Arborists showed up on time, conducted themselves professionally and did an awesome job on our 400 foot hedge! We strongly recommend them for tree services and we’d use them again without hesitation.

Sound tree care, put simply, did a stellar job. Setting a time to get an estimate was fast and easy. In the “work day” the crew showed up on time and as expected, and did a great job. They also cleaned up well and left the work area as they found it. And little things like communication and billing were simple and clear. I’d strongly recommend them and will use them myself in the future.

The Sound Tree Care team that we worked with at my daughter’s property in Columbia City were a pleasure to work with, easy to talk to about the plan of work and consistent with the original intent of their proposal.
On leaving the job site, they cleaned everything up and checked with me before departing.
We highly recommend the Sound Tree Care company for their work!
A happy client, Joe G -
I am very happy with the work that sound tree care did to help us prepare for a construction project in our backyard. Their certified arborist that came out and did the initial estimate was very knowledgeable and personable. He was actually able to immediately identify our trees as very large shrubs that had grown as tall as pine trees and fooled us completely. When the crew arrived, they quickly got to work and carefully cut back only what was needed to begin construction while leaving as much of the shrub intact and natural looking.

Eric and his crew were great. Very responsive, always on time and went overboard to see that you were pleased with their work. Will definitely recommend them to anyone and will call them whenever I have any tree work to be done.

These guys did a great job. We had 5 trees very precariously placed in our back yard and they came through and took them down and made it look easy. They showed up when they said they would and were professional and friendly. I would highly recommend them

We’ve used Sound Tree Care on two separate jobs. They removed a cedar that was obstructing a power line, removed nearly 6ft off the top of an overgrown hedge, and removed dead and encroaching branches on several of our larger trees. They worked quickly, and checked in throughout to ensure they were completing the job as expected. Would use them again!

Sound Tree came and did a large job of trimming our Arborvitae hedges on both sides of our driveway. Their crew was on time, friendly, and professional and they finished the job in a timely manner.
However the contract said they would place fertilizer upon completion and remove all debris but I needed to call and remind them about the fertilizer, which they did deliver and apply about a week later.
As far as removing the debris, they left quite a bit of dead branches on the top of the hedge and a lot under the hedges, which was obvious to our neighbors and another landscape company.
We called and asked them to come out and finish the removal and was told we were
”on their radar” but they didn’t know when they could get to it, but they would try.
A week went by with no communication so my husband called to see when they were coming. We were told that someone came and didn’t see anything of concern and left. No one let us know they were coming, the technician never told us he was here or asked where we saw all the branches, so obviously, the debris was still not removed. Even after the tech supposedly came, no one called to follow up and see if there was still an issue. Whereas, had they contacted us when they were actually here, the next part of this story could have been easily avoided. When we hadn’t heard anything, my husband called and got upset and expressed his frustration at the lack of communication. He was told not to get so angry, and the phone call ended with no resolution.
I sent an email with videos of the areas of debris and told them it was unfortunate about the phone call, but here was what needed to be addressed. The next day I received an email saying they were terminating any further services and deemed my husband “unsafe.” They said they would issue a refund for some of the invoice- we’ll see if/when that happens.
Its a shame that customers can no longer express their grievances or offer criticism to ensure they get what they paid for, without people in charge of customer service deciding not to deal with you because they don’t like your tone. Instead of being a professional and listening to the customers concern, and trying to understand and deliver the service we paid for, they responded emotionally and got their personal feelings hurt, claiming to feel “unsafe.”
It’s a shame because their crew did a very good job, but the company did not fully finish the job. Instead of professionally taking responsibility for their part in the problem, and trying to rectify it, they chose a passive-aggressive approach and blamed us for their lack of effective communication and ineffective customer service.
