Constraction reviews in Seattle, Washington

The project was a decorative fence which needed extensive repairs. Outstanding workmanship, very pleasant to work with, responsive to all requests for additions. The project was completed in a timely manner and I was kept informed of status at all times. The results exceeded my expectations and I have requested Zuma to work on the other projects I have.

Donald did a beautiful job with my fence and gate replacement and installation. He's great to work with, a perfect combination of friendly, chill, and professional. The project stayed within the predicted timeline and close to the cost estimate. Overall I'm very happy and satisfied.

Zuma has done a variety of small projects at my house and have been great to work with. Donald installed a door, built a small room in the basement, and built a dry well to keep water from getting in. Very impressed by the flexibility of this crew. Fair prices as well.

If you need a general contractor to help with home repairs or renovation, I highly recommend Donald Tillman at Zuma Contracting, LLC. He and his team do high quality and thoughtful work and are outstanding at communicating and delivering on time and within budget. They have restored our chimney, repaired drywall and repaired a window over the past few weeks and have been excellent to work with.

I was lucky enough to fine Donald through a neighbor. My basement had water damage because my hot water heater failed, it was a disaster! I am glad to say now my basement is the best it's ever been. Donald was able to transform my soggy basement and damaged drywall into a work of art. I have received many compliments on how my basement looks after Donald worked on it. As a bonus Donald is wonderful to work with, he is full of ideas on how he can work within your budget to get things done. I look forward to working with Donald again soon. 😊

Zuma built out my new tattoo studio in Downtown, Seattle. Donald and his crew were super communicative and efficient through the entire process. The space was finished quickly and looks incredible.

When we started our kitchen remodel, we knew it was going to be a complicated project and that we needed to partner with a contractor that had great communication, high quality work and a fair price. After many disappointing conversations and meetings with a variety of contractors, we got a recommendation on NextDoor to work with Donald @ Zuma Contracting and everything started to fall in place.

Donald helped us simplify the overly complicated structural design we received from another firm and locked in a plan with us that fit within our budget. He was meticulous about ensuring everything was done right and patiently worked with us through all the complications that can arise when you're remodeling a home built in 1907. You never can know for sure what's behind the walls!

We loved working with Donald, Archer and the rest of the Zuma Contracting crew. We're already planning our next remodel project with them and are very grateful for the work they've done so far. Highly recommend you work with them!

I recently had the pleasure of working with Donald and Zuma Contracting Servicesfor a complete remodel of two bathrooms and a new kitchen sink installation — and I can confidently say, they exceeded every expectation.

From the very first consultation, their hospitality stood out. The team treated my home with care and respect, as if it were their own. Every member of the crew was courteous, communicative, and genuinely pleasant to have around — a rare quality in today’s fast-paced service world.
But what truly sets them apart is their craftsmanship. It felt like King Midas himself had stepped in — everything they touched turned to gold. The bathrooms are absolutely stunning — modern, elegant, and flawlessly finished. The new kitchen sink was installed with such precision that it looks like it was always meant to be there.
They were on time, on budget, and incredibly attentive to detail throughout the project. They listened carefully to what I envisioned and brought it to life even better than I imagined. I never felt like just another job on their list — they made me feel like a priority.

If you’re looking for a company that combines skill, style, and sincere customer care, look no further. Zuma Contracting Services doesn’t just build — they transform, and they do it with the golden touch.

If you are doing any home renovation – big or small, I highly recommend Zuma Contracting Services!

I could not be happier with quality, craftsmanship, timeliness, and professionalism of Donald Tillman and Zuma Contracting. This was an extensive remodel with a ton of tile work that included gutting and renovating a powder room, laundry room, master bath, fireplace, and kitchen. They turned my 80’s condo into the beautiful home of my dreams!

Donald is an artist and a perfectionist. You won’t find a contractor the produces higher quality or better craftsmanship.

The attention to detail is remarkable. For example, I had a bypass pocket door installed and Donald’s crew stained the inside of the pocket door jamb to match the doors. The jamb was the same color as the wall and would never be noticeable, but Donald’s crew wanted a high-quality look. I love it. And the tile work is superb! I had a pattern tile installed in the tub surround and his team made sure the pattern followed around each corner. It’s beautiful! Oh, and the live edge mantel…. Wow!

I lived through the construction and the entire team was respectful and courteous, even when my dog walked through the paint. They understood I was working from home and took steps to mitigate disruptions. In short, Donald and the entire team were incredibly respectful.

Communication was outstanding. I always knew what to expect and when. Of course, there are always delays, (especially with supply chain issues) but Donald’s communication was on point. I was never left wondering the status of a project or what the next steps would be.

I highly recommend Zuma Contracting Services!

I am the Home Owners Association president for a small, 12 unit condominium building on Capitol Hill in Seattle. We worked with Synapse Construction on a comprehensive exterior renovation to address deteriorating stucco siding, failing roof membrane, misc water intrusion issues, and rotten framing. The project’s scope of work included siding replacement, new windows, new doors, new roof, new deck surfaces and railings, and new flashings and wall penetrations. The work also included extensive rot repair and significant re-framing of structural lumber that was discovered to be rotten. The project budget was over one million dollars.

Synapse was an excellent partner throughout the process. Their communication and project management were effective without being cumbersome. The schedule was well maintained during the course of the project. The full extent of rot was unknown prior to starting the project and Synapse did an excellent job of carefully exposing where rot was found, and systematically addressing it. The cost and schedule impacts of unknown rot repair were effectively conveyed back to the HOA so ownership could make timely decisions.

Synapse deployed a high degree of craftsmanship throughout the project. After install, we utilized an independent, third party window testing agency to check for leaks in the new windows. The new windows passed the leak tests with no issue.

Synapse’s cost to complete the project was fair and comparable to or less than similar contractors who bid on the project. Overall, our experience was good and we would recommend Synapse to other condominium buildings that have exterior construction and waterproofing issues.

Good

Great work, easy to communicate, nice outcome.

Great siding company. They work with you every step of the way.

Synapse took on a tricky, messy, small project that others wouldn't touch, and pulled it off perfectly.

Beautiful work siding my new construction house. House is a mix of shou sugi ban, metal, and concrete, and it all came together beautifully. The house looks stunning.

They replaced our leaky single-pane windows with new double-pane windows properly installed without leaks. They worked from the exterior to minimize disruption and did a great job.

Synapse's team was very polite, very hard working, stayed until quite late to finish promptly and made extra sure every aspect was well done, checking in with me early and often. They were very meticulous wih cleanup and protection of adjacent finishes.

Kyle, Konstantine, and his project team resided 2 levels of my contemporary 2009 modern home with Hardie Panel to replace some cedar siding incorrectly and poorly installed by the original contractors. The results were professional with beautiful touch and careful eye for detail.

Everything is done "in-house" ie, his own employees brought the skill to make it happen, except for some waterproofing that we later figured needed to be done to address some incomplete work by the previous contractor, which did impact our planned schedule by an additional 30 days. And he worked very well with the waterproofing contractor: they were able to coordinate seamlessly into the project timeline.

I was taken aback how professional Kyle was throughout the project, and he answered my questions and concerns within 12 hours, and often much sooner (within the hour), even when he was out of town. When we faced a problem, he would let me know asap, then tell me my options, impact to the schedule, impact to cost, and gave me an informal risk analysis if I were to ignore the problem and let him continue as we originally planned.

And there was the issue where my newly installed garage door was accidently dinged during construction. I mentioned I would have been happy if he just popped the ding out, but he went above and beyond and had my garage door panel completely replaced with a new panel. Clearly he didn’t have to do it, but he took all responsibility for it and took the lead in making sure I was absolutely happy and that it wouldn’t happen again. That tells me the kind of true professional Kyle is.

Communication, options, skill, and attention to detail. I have been very happy with the work done, and I currently have plans to use Synapse Construction on a second siding project in the near future.

The Synapse team were great and responsive to the every changing plans of a major remodel. We're very happy with the way our home looks and will enjoy a near maintenance free exterior.

Kyle and his team replaced 1/2 the siding on my 2 year old house - replacing a terrible job done by the builder. They kept the site clean, communicated well, and kept their commitment to finish on time and budget. I can't recommend Synapse more strongly.

Synapse installed a vaprosheild water barrier and all the windows on a new house I had built. The work was done on time, and on budget. I look forward to working with them again.
