HVAC reviews in Seattle, Washington

I mean, install just finished today, so I can't talk long term yet. I found the installers to be very considerate and good communicators. Everything looks fantastic and appears to be working well. I absolutely HATE inconsiderate and poor communication so I definitely would recommend Evergreen to anyone!! Probably the most painless big home improvement I've experienced.

Our team was courteous, professional and took great care with their work while working both inside and outside our home. Their prices were competitive and the turnaround from confirming we wanted to move forward was very quick. I'd highly recommend anyone considering ductless systems to include Evergreen in your bid selection process.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They finished the install of our new Mitsubishi unit on 11/13/2024. On 12/6/2024, the unit stopped working and we haven’t had heat since. It took 4 phone calls through the main office to get a repair guy out, who confirmed it was installed incorrectly and could be a faulty unit. He told us he would order the correct part on Saturday, 12/7 and that he would be back to install it on Monday, 12/9. It is now Thursday, 12/12 and there has been zero communication from the main office or repair. We’ve called again, only to speak with someone who said they cannot help us because they can’t see our order in the system (??) and to call the main office back. We spent nearly $30k for a unit that worked for less than a month. I don’t know what else to do, they keep giving us the runaround, and we still have no heat.
Save yourself the headache and expenses and go with literally any other company. -
Really happy I found Evergreen. Not only was I able to get an appointment scheduled within 24 hours, the associates who answered my call tried feverishly to offer tech support over the phone to ensure an appointment was not scheduled if it wasn’t truly needed. I really appreciate that type of customer service in this day and age. Cody was our technician today and he supplied us with stellar service. He was able to quickly assess the problem and get our heat turned back on within minutes of his arrival. We will definitely be repeat customers!

We've had a fantastic experience with Evergreen! They've been professional, prompt, and helpful at every turn. We loved working with John who helped us determine the right heat pump for our home. The installation team was excellent. And they recently took care of one minor issue covered under warranty. Fantastic customer experience and good value for money.

I was very impressed with Evergreen from the first contact through the final installation. Scott did a thorough analysis of our home to create a price estimate. The estimate was detailed and competitive. Scott promptly answered my many questions. Luis and his team did an excellent job installing the heat pump. Everything works and looks clean. They were very professional. Great job!
-
Will was great both times he was here for work! He was polite, friendly, informative, and thorough. I will continue to use your service from now on.

Evergreen did a wonderful job repairing my heat pump! Ani was my tech, and he quickly identified the problem and got my heat back up and running in the coldest time of the year! He was also extremely knowledgeable and was able to explain everything to me clearly. Would highly recommend!

Kody came to diagnose a tricky issue that our original installer couldn't figure out and explained everything with great detail and discussed all our options clearly. Evergreen also installed our units in a previous home and we've always been happy with the results and follow up maintenance visits

Kody came by to take a look at our mini split unit(s). Today that we were having a problem with. He was very professional and helped us figure out some issues we had with our unit. Appreciate the personal investment he had in helping us out.
-
Clear overview and explanation from the technician. Service and time estimates were spot on. Friendly and easy to partner with. Highly recommend.

Evergreen Home Heating and Energy installed a heat pump, air handler and two mini splits in my house in May of 2025. It was the best experience I’ve had with a contractor….EVER.
Scott, who came out to evaluate my home, listened patiently to my tales of woe regarding being cold in the winters and he provided great advice on what system would work best for my home. And explained why the system I had did not work for my house. All possible Puget Sound Energy rebates were already applied on the proposal and Scott also provided guidance on how to apply for additional rebates through Puget Sound Energy based on my income. In working with other (insulation) companies, I was told I would have to apply for PSE rebates after the work was done and the job fully paid for. And they wouldn’t/couldn’t guarantee I would even qualify for any rebates.
When I decided to sign a contract, Evergreen took care of all permits required and started work within a week and finished in 3 consecutive days. The work crew arrived on time, every day. Everyone (Luis, Rob, Mark, Justin, and others) who worked in installing my new system were professional, hard-working, polite and good communicators.
Evergreen also gave me good guidance on getting the final inspection scheduled and completed through the City of Des Moines. I appreciate that help since I had never had to have a post-work inspection done.
I’ve lived in my house for 6 years and have had nothing but problems with plumbing, electrical, water leaking into my house and a heating system that just didn’t work my home. I’ve hired many, many contractors, landscapers, plumbers, roofers, handy-men, and electricians and have had few good experiences. But Evergreen Home Heating and Energy is the exception in an industry that is plagued with dishonesty and poor workmanship. Evergreen treated me with respect and installed a product that I have every confidence will serve me well in winter and summer for many years to come. -
We use a neighbor's HVAC company for maintenance of an old (17yo) furnace who just told us we have corrosion and several parts that "could go at any moment" so we should think about replacement but a better option would be to replace our entire furnace. Emailed a report. Not much explanation. Zero follow-up.
So I happened to look at a sticker on the furnace, noticed that Evergreen had installed the AC unit in 2017, and decided to call them. Within 5 minutes, Victoria in Service taught me how to find my serial number and looked up all the furnace/AC info from 2017. She explained what each part did and sent me a quote with a couple of options.(Amazing!) I asked what a new furnace would cost and she arranged for Scott (sales) to come out the very next day.
Turns out Scott actually sold the AC unit to the previous owner and he told me Evergreen's history. He asked when we started having issues with our furnace (technically never). It was obvious I was totally clueless so he was kind enough to take a look at the parts in question and gave me a fantastic tutorial about best practices and how good our high-efficiency furnace was in the process. He suggested different options and gave me a ballpark estimate on the replacement cost of a like unit (about 5 times more than replacing parts) so I could make an informed decision. Scott is an honest, straight shooter, and very knowledgeable about the industry.
We're still deciding on what to replace since it ain't broke yet but I'm definitely calling Evergreen next time! -
Stuart was a fantastic tech who tuned my furnace, inspecting all parts carefully, thoroughly cleaning my electrostatic air filters, all while treating my property w respect - no dirty handprints on my white walls, or marks on basement floor, or scuffing walls carrying bulky equipment down narrow hallways. He was friendly, patient w all my questions, kind, went out of his way to ensure I was satisfied w the work. Just terrific!

Kody was very thorough and did a great job. Our furnace now works and we are warm again!

Routine HVAC maintenance explained and performed on time. Our tech Cody was very professional. Thank you Evergreen.

HVAC tech that did both our assessment and our repair was fantastic. It’s easy to find people that can do repairs. I find it more challenging to find people who can troubleshoot quickly and efficiently. Seems to be a lost art. Cody was great at both. He kept me informed, he was extremely polite, technically knowledgeable and did a great job getting to the root cause of the issue. He stayed after 5 to complete the job so our AC was back up this evening. Just overall great service. Can’t say enough good things about Cody’s service. Maybe I am out of touch with HVAC pricing these days or maybe I’m growing weary of the price of everything these days but this repair was not cheap. Plus I don’t know about you, but I don’t have the time to slog through 3 other automated phone attendants and the back and forth voicemails and the scheduling of diagnostics which has its its own fee (x3) to get competitive bids, so that puts me in a position where I think we overpaid but the service was undoubtedly excellent.

I am so happy i found Evergreen. From my first contact with Denise through the completion of the job, they were professional, friendly, polite. No hard sell. Just honest people. Privately owned. No "private equity" or "venture capital" dictating their business. When John M. came out to inspect our house and give us a quote, i was sold that this was the company for us to use. He was so detail oriented and measured everything and did appropriate heat loss calculations and then told us what we needed and didn't just replace what we had, which he said was way too big for our home. Thats where this companies honesty shines. He could have just again oversized our system and probably charged us more, and we wouldn't have known the difference. Evergreen didn't do that. We had a very large job, completely replacing the HVAC system in our multifloor home. When they did the installation, Luis was the lead and he and his team were professional, friendly, neat, respectful.....you cant ask for more. They are hands down a 5 star company and i cant recommend them more highly. You can stop your search, call Evergreen, you will not be disappointed.

I could not be more delighted with Evergreen Home Heating and Cooling. This summer, they completed two major upgrades at my Seattle home:
• Replaced my outdated 125A panel with a new 200A, 40-space/80-circuit load center
• Installed a Mitsubishi hybrid heat pump system (ducted air handler + mini-splits)
After nearly 30 years in Seattle without AC, I made the switch to electric following PLIA’s abrupt termination of oil heat insurance coverage. If I was going to make the change, I wanted to do it right with future-proofing in mind:
• Installed a 240V disconnect panel for a future hot tub
• Preserved capacity for an EV charger
• Left room for eventual kitchen circuit upgrades
Evergreen supported me every step of the way. I came in with limited knowledge of modern HVAC and residential electrical systems. They patiently answered what I am sure they felt was an ungodly number of questions, turning the process into a true learning experience. I obtained four bids. Evergreen clearly stood out. The others raised red flags:
• One proposed a system using outdated R-410A refrigerant without mentioning it’s being phased out (and without transparency about the implications).
• Another offered a fully ducted system without inspecting my existing ductwork, which includes multiple undersized (<6") runs that would have caused excessive static pressure.
• Yet another offered up a system comprised of obsolete equipment, probably trying to unload.
• None of the others conducted formal load calculations or offered credible documentation supporting their system sizing or design.
Why Evergreen won my confidence:
• Proposed a smart hybrid solution: ducted air handler for main/basement zones + strategically located ductless units upstairs
• Carefully evaluated my 1950s house and existing ductwork
• Performed thorough load calcs and electrical sizing
• Used in-house electricians, not subcontractors, which made the electrical upgrade far smoother
Their electrical team handled everything in-house including:
• New panel installation with proper AFCI/GFCI protection
• New mast and emergency disconnect panel.
• Load balancing and capacity planning
• Ground rod installation and cold-water bonding
• Hot tub disconnect panel.
• Coordination with Seattle City Light.
Special thanks to John M, Denise and Ryan respectively
• Technically sharp, detail-oriented, and exceptionally responsive
• For staying on top of all the moving pieces. Her coordination behind he scenes was key.
• For stepping in when I was offered NEC code … that could have gotten ugly. Almost pulled out my go to Michael Madsen quote, who died 1 week later.
Installation team (Justin, Jeff, Luis):
• Absolute professionals who worked their tails off
• Clearly took pride in getting things right, no shortcuts, high-quality craftsmanship
• Took time to explain each phase of work as it progressed
• The hot tub disconnect in particular was much more involved than I realized, and they handled it beautifully.
Final result:
• A high-performing, well-integrated HVAC system
• A clean, code-compliant, and future-ready electrical panel
• An install that genuinely looks and feels custom to my home
Like any older home, mine came with quirks and unique challenges, but Evergreen navigated them with professionalism, friendliness and flexibility. I highly recommend Evergreen to anyone looking to upgrade their heating/cooling.

I called Evergreen about installing a heat pump in my home. I actually called 3 different companies to get some estimates. Fortunately I got Justin Petersen at my door.
He not only was clearly very knowledgeable about everything, but was also much more thorough than the others. (I work in the industry and have at least a bit more insight than others). The thing that put it over the top though was that he was very responsive. He even messaged me in his off hours one time just to make sure that we were getting every discount possible for me. Most days I got an update. I appreciated that a lot. It's so much easier for something to be a little delayed when you get constant updates and know what's going on as opposed to being in the dark.
I started this late November and had hoped to have it done before end of year. But I knew that was asking a lot. Justin made sure that got done. SO appreciative of him and his efforts. Very beyond what I expected. I just can't say enough good things about Justin.
Financials I spoke with Denise Finnigan. She was also incredibly helpful. To the point that when i called one time and she was on a lunch break, the person I spoke with said, "I'm sure I can help you!" "No...I want Denise" no disrespect, I just already knew she was who I wanted.
Install - the whole crew was not only quick and efficient, but also very respectful of my property. Curtis was the head guy and really knew what he was doing. He also never wasted a second, but did for me when I had any question at all. And never made me feel bad about stopping him for a moment.
All together amazing experience. Inspections, follow-ups, everything was been very positive.
Very much recommend this place. Ask for Justin, he is the best, you won't be disappointed. -
I went with Evergreen to install a new heat pump because they had great reviews and the person who came out to give me an estimate was the most thoughtful and conscientious and seemed to be paying attention to all the details of my system, answered all my questions patiently, and revised his plan several times based on my concerns. The installation team was great and conscientious. However, once they had my money, the follow-up has been disastrous. I called a few months after installation because my heating bill was higher than expected, and they said they would call me back to try to figure out what was wrong, but no one called me back. I called them every couple weeks for about four months before I could get anyone to return my calls. They finally sent someone out to look at my system. He said he had made a comprehensive analysis of the system and thought he could get it working much better, and said he would send me his report in a few days. He never did. I followed up multiple times and never received this report. Then, less than three years after installation, my heat pump stopped working. Someone from Evergreen came out to look at it and told me there was a leak in the system and the junction box had failed and needed to be replaced, and the repairs would cost over $5000, only a few hundred of which was covered under my warranty. I asked why it had failed so badly after less than three years, if this was normal, and why so little was covered under warranty. They said they would call me back with the answers to my questions, but it took three weeks of me calling them every few days before they would return my phone calls. Finally they said they would cover it under warranty after all. They had to order a part, so it was three weeks until they could come out to fix it. When they arrived, they said that because another heating company had moved part of the system (not the part of the system where there was a leak), my warranty was void and they couldn't cover it after all. This was very frustrating because I had told them from the beginning that I was planning a house remodel that would involve moving part of the system, and they planned the system around this, and at no point did they tell me that my warranty would be void if I hired a different company to move it. I got a second opinion from another heating company, Energy Works, who told me that there was nothing wrong with the junction box, and gave me a much lower estimate to fix the leak. Meanwhile, I have had no heat for two months.
