Leaving a review on behalf of my older parents. They’ve never had me write anything about a service so this is saying a lot. They worked with a guy named Nick F. and they told me that he was very kind, respectful, professional, and answered all the questions they had. Also that the services were very reasonable on price and done in a timely manner.

Workers seem to be very friendly but hugely disorganized and very poor communicators. We needed a black double walled chimney that ran 6 feet from our wood stove to the ceiling thimble. We waited a week in cold temperatures for Luke to come by. He arrived late because apparently the schedulers hadn't calculated his travel time. I took the day off from work for his visit. He was friendly and seemingly informative.

We arranged an install date (another week) and a ballpark verbal estimate. The written estimate was supposed to be emailed later that day but it never arrived. The day before the install date I called to confirm the installation and was told that everything was a go. I took the day off from work again. Two hours before the installation time however, I received a call from Luke saying that the parts had not been ordered and that they were more expensive than what we had first discussed. At this point my gut told me to bail with these guys and I did.

In any case I lost two days of work, have been dealing with a cool house, and I have incinerated faith in Evergreen Chimney Sweep in Spokane. I ordered the Selkirk parts from Menards.com at a fraction of the cost and will carryout the simple task myself.

In terms of helpful suggestions I might offer Evergreen Chimney Sweep: 1) Be on time and if not call to say your running late 2) Follow through on written estimates as promised 3) Do what you say your going to do 4) Treat your patrons or potential patrons as you would like to be treated.

Addendum: Got the parts in short order, followed the directions, and our wood stove was operating in less than 90 minutes. Despite the favorable reviews found here, I personally can’t recommend Evergreen Chimney. A simple scroll will reveal other reviewers with similar experiences.

2 units - wood stove and vintage circular fireplace in our shop apartment. 5 Star/Professional service. Asked them for a quote and when they came out to give us one they ended up doing the job. Luke and Sergio worked continuously while they took the time to explain what they were doing and why. I have a fair knowledge of fires/stoves/fireplaces and they were great. All was done (in winter weather) at a very fair price

David was an excellent technician. He provided important information regarding my chimney did an excellent job with the inspection was prompt and efficient with the cleaning. I would highly recommend this company to others that have chimney concerns. The cost was quite reasonable and I will use this company in the future.

We were very impressed with First Rate Roofing and Nathan who did our job. Their price was very competitive, and Nathan was extremely easy to communicate with. He responded very quickly to all our messages. The guys went above and beyond what we requested because they were on the roof anyway and little things needed to be done to make the roof perfect. They were very conscientious about cleaning up after themselves as well. Great company to work with!

These guys went above and beyond what I expected. You can see in the pictures before, with the etching and primer, and then the finished product. Couldn't be happier.

I am very grateful to Ethan and Brandon and their amazing crew for replacing the roof on my new/old house. They clearly explained the problem areas and how the new materials and workmanship prevent future damage and costly repairs. My roof was completed in less than 2 days at a very reasonable cost. These young men were a delight to work with. They are professional AND very friendly…and they offer extensive professional handyman services for other inevitable repairs, replacements, needed upkeep and aesthetic enhancements. Brandon was just here doing a temporary fix on the wind-blown, ancient and water soaked slat backyard fence (which he will be totally replacing when the weather permits…)
I feel lucky to have found Ethan and Brandon and I intend to have them involved in all future projects on this 1937 house that deserves their expert and honest
workmanship.

My son referred us to First Rate; we needed a leak repaired that had already been "repaired" thru ANGI. Ethan came out to assess the job and provided an estimate. He scheduled the job for 11 days out. I received a call on January 3rd from his crew. They were finishing up another job in the area, and wanted to know if they might come by and do my job...a week ahead of time! They were quick and very professional. They did the repair exactly as Ethan had explained. I would not hesitate to recommend this company.

First Rate Roofing did an excellent job from the beginning to completion. The estimate, explanation of the work to be done, the installation and the clean up when all was completed. Completion was done ahead of schedule and no issues at completion. The crew was courteous, professional and very thorough. So overall their performance was above and beyond what I expected. Communication was excellent too, when I called for a bid, Ethan answered and had me scheduled the same day. He kept his word on everything we discussed and kept me informed during the whole process. I got a quote for a repair for a leak in my roof and they were booked 4 to 5 weeks out. Ethan put in for urgent since it was an active leak and got me in early at only 10 days! Very friendly, knowledgeable and thorough. Would definitely recommend them if you need a roof man.

Called these guys first because they were so highly rated and immediately found out why. We called with a leak inside our house and immediately Ethan was empathetic to the experience more than focused on a quote. What a difference! Wife agrees that if we could leave 10 stars we would!

We called First Rate on a very favorable reference from my neighbor. And based on our conversations with Ethan, the actual bid, and the products they use, First Rate simply rose to the top of the several bids we got. But here's where I became most impressed:

Due to unforseen circumstances, my wife and I had to postpone our job BUT, my mom also needed a new roof. Ethan and Brandon answered all of her questions and got it done! Their communication was excellent, the crew and clean-up was great, and they were incredibly attentive to my mom's dog who was a little stressed throughout the process!

The whole process working with Ethan and his team was great. From the initial call out to inspect and provide a quote (multiple options in our case) everything was clear, concise and upfront. To the repair in which his team did a great job, and best of all were great to my kids who were in the back yard asking questions non stop while they worked. Overall can’t recommend them enough!

I cannot measure my satisfaction with Ethan and his crew by just using the five stars. I had a portion of my roof blow off in a wind storm and after randomly picking First Rate off a Google search they overwhelmed my house. They were out there immediately to do a temporary patch while I worked with insurance. On the day I approved the invoice they actually had the permanent repair scheduled and completed before I even saw the response. They set my mind at ease in a situation that could have been stressful. Ethan is an authentic, trustworthy, professional, and reliable owner/operator.

This company is awesome!!! Reasonably priced and very professional. Ethan, the owner, is very knowledgeable and explained everything that needed done to repair two nasty leaks we had. He answered all our questions and sent us a quote that same day. We scheduled the work and the workers were on time and very professional as well. I can't say enough kind things about this company and I will be recommend them to everyone!
