Absolutely ridiculous. We just moved from West Seattle to Tacoma. What cost us 45-50$ in Seattle, cost us $85 at this place. Their prices are RIDICULOUS and we won't be back. Happy to make the drive to West Seattle Nursery where the prices are not beyond unethical price gouging. Tacoma is being robbed and they don't even know it.
10 dollars each for a micro rosemary plant and a micro lavender plant is ABSURD. 13.00 for a bag of planting soil? Unbelievable.

Highway robbery. Nothing justifies this price point.

Portland Ave Nursery has a wide variety of healthy and vibrant plants to choose from, and their prices are reasonable. I was on a mission to find a particular plant that after failing to find it at 2 other larger nurseries in the area I almost gave up and didn’t bother stopping by but I did and was surprised to find it among other plants that only Portland Ave Nursery seemed to have in stock. Highly recommend checking out this place when checking off some of your wishlist!

Portland Ave Nursery is a wonderful place. I can always find what I am looking for (and often things I am not looking for) and the prices are very reasonable. The quality is nice, and many of the plants I've purchased there, including the annuals, are still happy and healthy years later. The staff is always knowledgeable and helpful. I've brought them plant pieces for identification and asked advice on issues several times, always leaving satisfied.

Nice early spring morning to browse and buy. So fun and enjoyable. Top quality from annuals to every kind of tree imaginable (and anything in between). I didn't see one distressed plant in the entire place and it is vast!! Very clean, well organized with helpful staff. These people love what they're doing and it shows. Been there before and I'll be back!!

Portland Ave has always been a great garden resource. Herbs I bought there a month ago are growing so well I'm giving herbs away. And now I got three beautiful and hard to find 2' tall shade plants for less than $60.

A nice nursery with a lot of variety. It is my go-to for colorful annuals, rhododendrons, and ground cover evergreens. Customer service is pleasant and most of the employees can answer questions about what is in stock and how to care for the plants. Whenever I purchase soil and/or compost there is an offer to load it up and take it to my care.

What a great place! There are so many varieties of plants and trees it was easy to make my choices of what I wanted. The gal that helped me was a real pleasure,of course I forgot her name and the cashier was awesome also.
No need to go anywhere else. This place definately has their act together. Clean, neat, organized, easy to see the names of each item along with the price. What a fun experience I had. and will not go anywhere else.

I’ve been to Portland Ave Nursery several times in years past but never wandered past the front section. This time I did and discovered that the place is huge with a large selection of plants and very helpful employees that really know their stuff. My new go to!

The best thing about this is it's the low prices. Affordable great plants, furniture and selection

Due to my neighbor's ignorance, my 15 foot, 25 year old Japanese
Maple died. A painful loss. I have shopped at Portland Ave. Nursery
for as many years as the age of that tree and knew I would be able
to replace it without much effort because they have the best selection
of all of the surrounding nursery's. Their prices are lower than most
and the staff is very helpful too. They also carry wonderful garden
accessories, pots and a great selection of quality teak outdoor
    furnishings.
The nursery is really a treat to visit. It is a beautiful nursery with
incredible specimens planted everywhere and the grounds are kept
very orderly and clean. I found a wonderful, new Japanese Maple and
a big, beautiful pot to put it in, just like I knew I would. It was delivered
with care today and I could not be happier. We are fortunate to have
several nice nurseries in the vicinity but Portland Ave. Nursery is my
favorite due to over all quality and selection.
Thank you John, for the extra effort you made to make today's delivery experience so special.

Wonderful Nursery to buy plants and trees. The employees are so nice and are very helpful. One of my favorite places to go for plants.

Very large nursery with a decent selection. I originally went to look at fruit trees and was happy to see they have grafted 5 in 1 for Asian pears and apples in addition to single type. We were also looking for very specific blueberry bushes that they had in stock too. This is a great go to nursery if your in the area. I also love all of the garden accessories they had, so useful and cute!

Excellent customer service!! So knowledgeable and took the time to help us pick out many plants for our new front yard. All the employees we came across were friendly and helpful!

The Employees are very kind and helpful
Just wish they had more options for indoor medium mixtures (such as larger sized perlite, smaller bags of LECA etc.) and prices weren't so steep for things such as Sphagnum Moss
Otherwise, great place, great plants and great people

Was just there an hour ago and bought a Gunnera labeled as "dinosaur food" implying like the manicata plants we see at the zoo and wapato park, only to get home to see its tinctoria in the the small print😑.
I dislike when nurseries do things like this, for example being ambiguous labeling tarragon plants letting people assume they're buying french tarragon when it's actually the weedy inferior russian variety.

We love Portland Ave. Nursery! They have high quality items and a huge selection. Katie and Grace are two of the most amazing people we have encountered at any business. They both are not only super friendly and knowledgeable but they are also extremely fun to talk to. Both have helped us with finding the right plants and offered alternative that would fit even better with what we had planned. Thanks Katie and Grace for all the amazing service and experiences!

Could you be any more perfect?! Amazing knowledge, strong company, impressive inventory. We ran into Kate there this afternoon and we lucked out to have a fellow plant enthusiast to chat with. My partner has the green thumb but I enjoy a good romp through a nursery and wow… gorgeous. From the stag topiary to the over 50 year old weeping atlas Cedar draping magically over the side of the main building, to a sky scraping English hedge, we will be going back for a bounty! Lots of mimosa trees, grasses the list goes on! Thank you for being epic!

I recently discovered this nursery and I’m so glad I did! It’s a beautiful hidden gem here in Tacoma. Rose is very helpful and knowledgeable about the houseplants and made me comfortable that I was taking good care of my Ficus.
