Contractor reviews in Vancouver, Washington

On Wed of this week, I had my condo measured for new flooring throughout. The measure went fine, but that's the last thing that did. After receiving my quote via email, I went into the store to finalize the purchase. The clerk, a young girl with absolutely NO clue about flooring, simply couldn't find my quote. I waited...and waited...and waited. Thirty minutes later she finally prints off a copy of the quote. I had questions about it and needed to pick a trim, but she couldn't have been any less helpful, nor could she have moved any slower. She finally called someone on the phone and then handed the phone to me to ask my questions. The fact that I was still sitting there after all of this incompetence still amazes me. There was a discount offered if the purchase was completed with a Home Depot card, so I applied. Strangely the computer she was having SO much trouble with, suddenly worked perfectly when it came time to apply for credit. She still couldn't get the troublesome computer to accept any additions to my quote, so she couldn't add the trim strips I had just picked out. Still, I waited. Another 30 minutes passed and I asked her what was happening. She was staring at the screen and occasionally keying in some info. She told me she was hand-entering my five page quote and it would probably take quite a while to complete. In the interim, she mentioned that despite paying for my flooring and scheduling the delivery, she couldn't schedule me for the actual install until AFTER the flooring had been delivered. She then told me they were currently scheduling for four weeks out. By the time my flooring was delivered (2 weeks), they would be scheduling my install for at least SEVEN weeks from the date of the measure. The biggest home improvement store in the nation and you can't hire enough people to provide any better service than that? After sitting in the store for 90 minutes, I left without completing the transaction. I simply couldn't wait any longer. Getting some flooring installed should NOT be that big of a deal. Home Depot has not only lost a flooring customer...they've lost the rest of my business as well. Ridiculous!

Carpet looks and feels beautiful, installer was very professional, courteous, great communication.

The gentleman came in and got it done in no time at all. They were respectful and thoughtful. Totally satisfied.

Great experience at Home Depot with selection of carpeting and the installation. We are happy with the results.

I recently had 3 doors I'd purchased through Home Depot installed by Kraft Screens and Window per the recommendation of Mike in the Door dept. Mike arranged the install, Kraft called me to set a date and time. The installers were at my house earlier than the time I had requested. I am beyond happy, the installers did such a beautiful job installing each and every door. 2 exterior and 1 fire door...and I am picky. They cleaned up after themselves. They were professional, friendly and even put the doors into my pick-up per my request so that I could pass them on. Thanks fellas for a job well done.

I came in to look for a heat lamp bulb for my MuMs bathroom. I asked one associate where on the aisle it would be. He rudely answered i don't know, nothing more nothing less. He could of called another employee using the walkie talkie but I had to seek out help myslef. Very poor customer service on this man's part

I had scheduled a cleaning of my heat pump. When the young men arrived they found lots of rust. A repairman was called and arrived at my home 2 hours later. The heating unit needed replaced. I was shown 3 units in different prices ranges. Picked the one I preferred. The next morning a crew showed up bright and early. My old unit was removed and a new one was installed. I was given a 90 days same as cash deal. Everyone involved was kind, respectful and knowledgeable.
I couldn't be happier with the product or the service.
Thank you! -
Our carpet insulation was beautiful. The gentlemen who did the insulation were polite and efficient. We'll done!

We have spent a lot of time and money at Home Depot over the years doing renovations and remodels thru out the state. Today we needed some plumbing assistance with old galvanized plumbing. Lynn in the plumbing department at this store was hands down the best experience we have ever had. He was very knowledgeable, and saved us a ton of time and money! Thank you so much! We will definitely be using this store for our future needs.

We had a new HVAC put in by Isaac. He did a great job with reasonable prices..Highly recommend this company

I recently had my furnace replaced by NW Elevated Home Solutions, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the experience! From the initial consultation to the final installation, Isaac was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly courteous. He took the time to explain my options, answered all my questions, and made sure I felt confident in my decision.

I highly recommend Isaac at NW Elevated Home Solutions for all your HVAC needs. He is a true pleasure to work with! He helped us install a central gas furnace and heat pump in our new home addition. Anytime there has been any hiccups or concerns he is very responsive and quick to problem solve! He thoroughly researched city codes before installing any equipment and makes sure everything is up to code and safe to run. After dealing with some of the contractors and businesses I’ve hired for this big project who do the bare minimum or leave jobs unfinished, this guy is a breath of fresh air and so helpful and easy to work with! 10/10!!

These guys were great. I reached out to three different companies and what sold me on this one was the knowledge, communication, and hard work. They made sure to ask a lot of questions during the free consultation and made sure to get measurements to give me a more accurate quote. They worked so hard in the hot sun and would let me know when they had to leave to get materials.

This is the second time we have gone through Home Depot for floor installation and they contract with Romanoff Renovations. Both times we’ve had carpet installers from their company come, they are communicative, on time with the earlier time in the arrival window, work fast, and do a quality job.

I ordered a shower installation on Nov. 16th. The sales person that came to my house was excellent (obviously because by the time he left I had ordered a $7500 shower installation). I was told to expect my new shower by mid January. January came and went...no email....no phone call....no updates and no shower. I called for an update and was told my install was actually going to be mid February. Mid February came and went....no email...no phone call.....no shower. I called home depot and got no answers. I went to the store to inquire and was told they would have to look into it and call me later. When I finally received a phone call I told them that I would like to cancel my installation because it has been months and I was tired of waiting. I had opened a home depot credit account for this install and had already paid over a thousand dollars for the shower that never came. It is now March.....no cancellation has processed and no money refunded. I still have an open install order on my home depot account and a balance showing on the credit card. You would think that there would be at least a little attempt at some customer service but there has been zero effort. It is nearing four months since I ordered my shower and I have nothing to show for it except a new credit card and $1000 dollars missing from my checking account.

We will never do business with Home depot again. Our "72 hour" carpet installation was 3-4 weeks out for installation and we were not told that at the time of purchase. I ended up changing the type of carpet so we could have it installed within a week and the sales associate JANICE knew what our situation was and that we needed it right away and still did not tell me. We ended up going to a competitor for a higher grade carpet with a week installation and cheaper price. The awesome customer service compared to the Home Depot was a bonus!! JANICE in carpet also made a remark about my twin girls and how if I wanted a boy I could just raise one of the girls as a boy instead of a girl. Unbelievable and not appropriate at all!! Again... I will never do any business with the Home depot. I am going local from now on!

I don't usually write reviews but in this case felt compelled. I decided to have a new $3,500 front door installed. I went into the store in August. My door is finally getting installed in January. 5 months. I can be patient as long as the store keeps me informed on the status of my order. Home Depot has not once in the last 4 months called me to let me know what is going on with my order. I had to go into the store 4 times to essentially demand an update. Each time resulted in at least an hour with a rep trying to "figure out what is going on" and unfulfilled deadlines and promises of a "future phone calls to keep me posted." If you are in a hurry with a home improvement project go somewhere else.
On a side note, I decided to get new carpeting throughout my house at the same time. When I went into Home Depot for an estimate and because they were advertising "guaranteed free installation within 72 hours" I got my estimate but when I asked about the installation and if I could expect it within the next few days the customer service rep actually laughed at me. She said, we advertise that but NEVER meet the deadline. "They" will probably give you a gift card in its place.
I went to Lowe's. I will be going to Lowe's for EVERYTHING from now on. -
We had window blinds choosen, measured and installed. Very good experience from start to finish.

Aaron & James were thorough, knowledgeable, hard-working, professional and did a fantastic job on all of our interior doors (some of which were tricky).
