Contractor reviews in Vancouver, Washington

You can't go wrong with Mill Plain.
-
The very best Electrical Contractor in the PNW

Just saw someone driving one of their trucks throw litter onto the freeway as I drive behind them. Disgusting.
-
Some of the best electricians in town. I enjoy working with this company. Everyone is professional and they do great work.

This review is not about the company as a whole, but about one of their employees that is entrusted with driving their branded trucks.
I commute from Camas, WA to Portland, OR every workday. The traffic on my route to work sucks, but it is what it is. This morning I followed a white pickup truck branded with MPE from Camas to the I-205 Bridge going southbound. The MPE driver was safe and "good" up to this point.
Immediately after we merged from the onramp to the bridge proper, that all changed. As usual, the traffic was thick and there were a lot of cars across all 4 lanes of the bridge. The driver of the Mill Plain Electric truck proceeded to drive extremely unsafely, putting many lives in danger. Let's say the left passing lane is 1 and the further right lane is 4. We were both in lane 3, when abruptly they swerved into lane 4 to PASS one car and then weave back through lanes 3, then 2 and 1. Their erratic and unsafe maneuvers caused multiple other drivers to have to "hard-brake" to avoid being hit/avoid hitting this truck that was changing lanes when there wasn't enough room to do so safely.
It is saddening that this individual has so little regard for other people that share the road with then. We all have families to get back to, and I worry that one day, this driver will hurt or kill themselves/others with their recklessness. -
I am coming back driving the semi from Coos Bay and headed for home now
Every Tuesday morning I have one of your work vans from Washington, always tailgating people and driving faster than he should... Average speed 70 mi per hour up to 80 mph. Maximum vehicle is driving
It's 5:27 a.m. and on interstate 205 southbound
Truck number looks like 025 on the front driver side quarter panel near the engine
Vehicle insurance is bad enough but most likely when it's not there personal vehicle they just don't care and drive like an idiot -
Very professional electrical contractor. They have absolutely top notch staff. They invest heavily in the proper staff, training and equipment. Highly recommend - for industrial or commercial projects - especially if it is high profile, highly technical / complex and requires the best talent on deck!!
-
Professional all the way through. I will recommend them

J C Electric is the very best ever. I have used them several times over the past 10 years - They were very prompt, did a great job and even gave me a senior discount.

Outstanding service from this electrical contractor.
JC Electric sent Mark out to assist with a hidden short circuit caused by faulty wiring done by inept person(s) years ago.
The job required a methodical approach to problem solving. A look inside Mark’s work van showed clever and meticulous organization to a degree I’ve never seen with any contractor in over 40 years of project management.
I knew things would be done right. And they were, including tracking down the problems, and determining solutions. The problems were inside two crappy and undersized plastic junction boxes, crammed full with equally crappy wiring assemblies.
Because I won’t tolerate leaving plastic junction boxes in place when discovered, I always spec replacing them with 4-inch square deep metal junction boxes screwed to framing, and metal clamps for the knock-outs. This provides plenty of room inside for assemblies, eliminating stress on connections.
As proven by this experience, while my high standard requires sheetrock repairs and painting afterward, doing things right the first time is a whole lot better than having the same, or another contractor, come back later and doing it all over.
After installing the new metal junction boxes with metal clamps for the wire penetrations, Mark pretwisted the conductors before applying wire nuts, looped conductors around device terminals instead of stabbing them in, and wrapped the device terminals with electrical tape.
Excellent!
Although these old-school methods add a small bit of time to the job, the reliability and longevity of these practices is beyond question, providing the peace of mind I like for my clients, and me.
I have an intense dislike for short-cuts, and always mandate work done thoroughly following traditional methods with attention to detail.
Glad to report this was an example of quality work done by a conscientious professional.
Thank you Mark, and JC Electric! -
If I could give this company negative stars, I would. This company took advantage of an elderly woman on a fixed income by upselling unnecessary services and/or not performing services promised. I was not aware that the testing services suggested were actually performed until I received a bill for $750! I was told that a technician would take a sample and provide water moisture results. I have no knowledge this testing was ever performed, nor did I receive any testing results. Buyer beware.

Beware of this business. They offer free estimate then have you sign a no money back no guarantee or they will blame it on some other services that you might need so they can up charge you. My folks did not speak much English and was scam by them. Please beware of this company. I would never recommend this business to anyone I know
