My contractor requested Deleon Engineering to come out to take a look at our kitchen remodel to see IF we needed architectural renderings. Delson came out to the house and said we did. We paid the amount. A few days later we decided not to move forward with our contractor due to estimate being 100k over our budget. We requested a refund due to no renderings/work done. We were denied and out $4231. Contractor will not refund and Delson refuses to refund. Feel completely scammed.
Our experience with john started out great, he came right out, took pictures and measurements. He did all the things one would expect. that's when everything went south, after we paid him his start-up fee he kept finding reasons to come back to the job site for added fees. He sent his "crew" (his wife and daughter) out to take more pictures and measurements For an additional fee.... then he kept saying he would have the project finished at the end of the week about 6 weeks in a row at the end after being pushed to complete our project, He over complicated it to an extent that basically made it impossible to complete. After all of this we were forced to hire a new engineer to have our project completely redone our experience with John Delson has been horrible, if i can give you one word of advice....stay away from John Delson ....
I asked John for 2 items. One was an engineering plan to remove and existing wall and the other was full architectural plans on all three levels of the residential home I live in - including roof structure, living space, and foundation/crawl space. I repeated that over and over again BEFORE giving him any money. Then after he had my money I let him know I did not need the first product only the second one - the full architectural plans. He agreed over the phone but when I sent a text to confirm he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about and said we needed to meet in person. What he ended up giving me was an elevation plan and an inaccurate floor plan (I already had a floor plan that was more accurate than what he did). So he kept my $1,500 and tried to act like I was getting a deal - in reality I got nothing of any value. Total waste of money and time.
John did not listen to what I wanted. He just kept wanting to meet in person and rehash the requests I had already made. When I finally got sick of the lack of progress he asked for a huge bill without delivering what we agreed. The original meeting said it would be complete in 2-3 weeks. over 3 1/2 months later I still haven't received what I asked.
