Constraction reviews in Madison, Wisconsin

We contracted with Chads Design Build to convert a small 1st floor bedroom into a bathroom and laundry to allow us to age in place. The project began with several visits by the design crew, Theresa and Chris, who listened carefully to our needs and desires, provided lots of good suggestions, and ultimately produced a detailed plan showing all our choices, including a 3D rendering of how the finished room would look.

The actual construction was guided by lead carpenter Mark Gallo. Mark, in addition to being a very fine craftsman himself, managed the subcontractors’ work on the site. Mark made sure that everyone remembered that they were working in an occupied residence, which we greatly appreciated. The workspace and adjacent hallway were separated from the rest of the house by plastic sheeting to keep dust to a minimum and any escaped dust was vacuumed up at the end of every day.

A bathroom is a complex project requiring the employ of a number of subcontractors: plumbers, electricians, HVAC, outside wall insulators, plasterers, floor and wall tilers. We found that all these subs were excellent at their craft. Scheduling the workdays for these subcontractors and ordering the required materials for their work is a major task for the primary contractor. Jason Smith, back in the office of CDB expertly handled this task and kept the work flowing smoothly. The project was completed in 9 weeks, exactly as estimated.

Our new bathroom, which makes it possible for us to live on one floor, is a joy to behold. We would not hesitate to recommend Chads Design Build to anyone contemplating work in their home.

We did a full kitchen remodel. Walls and ceiling were removed. I did the electrical (academy electric) and they did the rest. They worked with us to make the best decision on our remodel. It went very smoothly and was done in 3 months. This is very good. They did an excellent job at a reasonable price. I highly recommend them.

I have worked with a lot of contractors and working with Capitol Custom Contractors was by far the best experience I have ever had! Carlos, Rigo and Eddy created a completely new living space in our unfinished basement including a family area, bathroom, gym and storage area. They were professional, courteous and pleasant and we really liked that Carlos was interested in what we wanted, as well as offering helpful suggestions when needed. They installed everything! Ceilings, walls, flooring, bathroom fixtures, painting, plumbing and electricity, it was a lot of work we wanted to have done but the end result was amazing. It turned out so well the area that was intended to be a secondary living space has become the main gathering area. If you are looking to have a project done I would highly recommend Capitol Custom Contractors!

We used Capital Custom Contractors to install some flooring in July of 2021. We were listing our condo on the market and needed the job done ASAP. Carlos brought three employees and they were able to have LVP tile installed in two bathrooms in ONE day on last-minute notice! They were on-time and each employee was very professional and courteous. Would recommend! Thanks so much! - Alyssa

Fabio, Brandon, and the rest of the Facility Solutions team were wonderful! Our exterior house painting project was a large job and they made sure everything was completed to perfection in a very efficient amount of time. They were the best quote out of 3 consultations too. They were always available for questions and continued to touch up areas until we were 100% satisfied. These guys go above and beyond. Highly recommend and would hire again for additional projects in the future.

Wonderful experience. Great follow-up.
