Looking for a landscaping/hardscaping company in the Madison area? This is THE ONE. I had reached out to a few companies regarding the reconstruction of a paver patio, and while I heard crickets from some places, Henry responded to my initial inquiry within an hour of me sending it. From there, he provided a very fair and affordable quote, as well as a timeline of when he could get the job done. I appreciated his communication and positive attitude, his willingness to reuse my existing pavers, and his hard work making my patio look like new. I'm so incredibly pleased with the work this crew did, and would not hesitate for a second to hire them again! Cheers!

I went there to pick up a few items.

Stop at the customer service for help. People to ask on the floor were scarce. But they sell quality equipment and tools.

So organized , i like to get my plants from there, good prices.

Every plant I've ever bought from here has had either mealy bugs or spider mites. I only come here for pots.

Best indoor and outdoor garden centers no matter the season. Beautiful and healthy plants wonderful selection of indoor plants even in winter.

A friend bought a grill and they tried passing off the floor model for the new 1 she bought. Floor model had rust and bird poop stains on it lol. They saw the error of their way lol. This reflects on a few people not the whole store

I'v personally never had a problem there, with either returning and item or finding an item. Some of these bigger places can be quite cumbersome to navigate. This one however is not too bad as everything is in fairly controlled groups. Their prices are great. I built two raised gardens 7x7 including soil and fertilizer, for under $150. oh yeah! looking at the receipt I see that I also bought a circular saw.

My favorite place to go in the Springtime. They have everything I need to prepare for my gardening and other outdoors decorating and activities that are soon to arrive in the summer!

Once again, buried my car even though their contract with the management company clearly states they're supposed to clear driveways. Claimed they didn't have the equipment, but had 3 snowblowers and multiple shovels on their trailer. And yes, I have pictures. Same company that destroyed my solar lights, even though they were off the landscape area. One guy doing the work while the other two stood and watched. Pathetic.

We had them for 2-3 years for weekly mowing. They generally arrived when they said they would and they generally got the job done. However, they would run into things, and broke several of our fence posts and a window which they said they would get fixed and never did. They also mowed over decorative grasses and young raspberry bushes which were in the lawn, but surrounded with tubing and wood chips so obviously shouldn't have been mowed. Also, if the grass was particularly long, they would leave big clumps of cuttings laying around.

We were excited to work with SSL. They bid out several projects and we started with the three we could afford, planning to ask them back out to complete the other two projects and ongoing maintenance this spring. The work was completed right before we left town; before we could even inspect the work to ensure we were satisfied, we were receiving threatening messages about the remaining half of the balance being overdue. We paid immediately, and then mentioned that some of the weed removal was done poorly/not at all. After following up, we were told that someone would come out and take a look; no one ever came by, provided any feedback or response. We reached out again this spring to see if they would do anything to stand behind their work, and again received no response. We were disappointed with the work completed last fall, but were still considering having them come do another $10K worth of work. After blowing us off twice, we are moving on to work with another more reputable company. SSL proved to be good with ideas, poor with execution, and really terrible with communication; look elsewhere for landscaping, lawn, and native plant needs.

SSL was the landscaping subcontractor on a new build we just completed with Premier Builders. Alex and his crew were excellent. Good communication, flexible and very price competitive. Access to a full array of plants and trees. Most importantly, they were meticulous about the work they did. Would definitely recommend.
