Saw the positive reviews and tried setting up a walk through/estimate for potential problems for a house that I was planning on buying. I set the appointment for Monday (2/5/18) a week before and when I arrived to the house to meet the contractor....Nobody was there. I wait for about 10 minutes then call to find out what was going on. The secretary answers and it sounds like whoever I was supposed to meet forgot about our appointment. She said he would be out to see the house. It's now Friday 2/9/18 and I haven't received a phone call or email letting me know anything. Very unprofessional and if you like waiting out in the snow and freezing cold only to get flaked on then go with these guys. Going with a different General Contractor.

They were recommended to me by Lisbon Storm to install a door and a window for our commercial building. We ended up having them quote the entire renovation. Looking forward to see how the project turns out. They are a great group to work with and very knowledgeable.

This was a great experience working with this company. I had some last minute things happening and needed state approval. He listened to my issues and put me in his schedule immediately. The work was done in a matter of days, very professional, nice work. Not rushed. I was approved by the end of the week. I definitely give this company and the crew 5 stars! I highly recommend this company.

My experience with GSI was amazing. This contractor made all of my dreams come to life. He rehabilitated a home for me....the results were beyond words. I found GSI General through a contractor search service and they provided two other contractors as well. The owner, Benjamin, reached out and set an appointment to meet before either of the other two returned my call. We were tearing a room down to the studs and redoing electrical, insulation and then putting up drywall.

He arranged an appointment and arrived on time and was professional, courteous and thorough. He explained the estimate process, the timeline and we talked through the entire project.

He provided an estimate shortly after that was reasonable and EXTREMELY thorough. The estimate itemized the materials, labor, etc. to the penny. We quickly decided to go forward with GSI due to the affordable cost and the thoroughness of the estimate.

Every project of this size has hiccups or surprises. I measure a contractor by their responses to these issues. Benjamin was responsive and quick to find a path forward every step of the way.

The project took a little longer than expected due to some hang ups with permits (not GSI's fault) but the work was completed up to specifications. Benjamin has a wealth of experience in jobs of all shapes a sizes and his guidance and recommendations were a huge help too.

He stands by his work and offers a one year warranty on all work performed. The finished product is amazing and we couldn't be happier with it.

I contracted with GSI after discovering that I had black mold in my basement. With that being said my entire basement was gutted out and GSI did a wonderful job of remodeling the basement into a beautiful living space. I have gotten numerous compliments and I am extremely pleased with the outcomes. I personally recommend and encourage those looking to have major renovations done to trust GSI General and its owner Ben Clark.

We worked with GSI after a fire left our condo about 35% damaged due to smoke and water damage. Ben was very responsive as soon as we reached out to him, meeting us on premise within 24 hours of the call. Once we got everything squared away on our side with our insurance carrier (which Ben helped us do), we were able to get started right away. We had a big project that included repairing and finishing 2 bathrooms and our master bedroom and closet. Ben was very responsiver through the whole project!

Benjamin was extremely communicative and transparent throughout the entire project. When I called and explained the repair we needed completed, he was quick to come out to provide a thorough and accurate estimate. He worked directly to submit the quote to our insurance and was flexible in the start with the holidays. The project was down exactly to our liking and he was able to quickly provide solutions when we had unforeseen issues come up. He made sure to continue to check in with us and communicate project updates throughout the entire time. I will happily reach out to him again for any future projects or repairs!

We loved working with Benjamin. He helped us though the removing of a wall and all the things you do not think about when you decide you want to expand a room. We had some hiccups but Benjamin did not stop until we were satisfied with the work and even worked with us on pivoting on a fix. If you are looking for someone you can connect to and values how you want things in the end, I highly recommend him. As a side note in all of our bids he was the best among those who provided official quotes and breakdown of the work.

We had an excellent renovation experience with Ben's company. We modified our stairs to the basement and installed a new staircase leading to the second floor. We worked with architect Berry Wang who worked seamlessly with Ben. After a couple of meetings we recieved a very detailed quote describing all work excluding electrical work. After signing the quote demolition started a couple of days later. Ben's demolition crew delivered outstanding work with immaculate cleanup. The carpeter crew worked very hard and finished their work quickly. We did the insulation ourselves with instructions from Ben. He was all in favor of us doing as much as we can. We were albe to safe an significant amount of money that was quoted initially. This process was very relaxed. We payed three installments by check as described in the contract. The drywall crew was okay. They used drywall sheets we owned and used them all with a lot of waste. They also did a mediocre job cleaning up. We learned that drywall installation and mudding is followed be the demolition crew cleaning up. Because we continued living in our house during the renovation we did the clean up ourselves again saving money that we quoted initially for this work. Rough and final inspection was uneventful without any issues. We highly recommend working with Ben. We has you covered and will work with you in order to safe money without cutting corners.

We were in contact with Mr. Clark on a constant basis and were guided along the whole process with a line-by-line quote so we could understand what was being done at our house. Wow these guys do fantastic work! My wife and I were mid remodel on a newly purchased property. We were working with another general contractor at first, but were unhappy with the timeline and the uncertainty of the budget. We contacted GSI and started work with them immediately.

Things that I really liked about working with Benjamin and GSI:

- Very detailed scope of work. Benjamin sat down with me and went through one line item at a time, making sure that I felt comfortable with the quote and the work that was being done. I really appreciated the level of detail, and the fact that he cared enough to walk through it with me, instead of just sending it via email or another method.

- Responsive. Communication was key for me while we were going through this. I needed to know who was going to be at the house, when they were getting there, and what work they were going to compete. Benjamin was great about doing this, and would answer the phone anytime I called with a question.

- Craftsmanship. The carpenters, electricians, painters, etc all did a fantastic job. The work looks incredible, and I can't believe they were able to get it done as fast as they did!

Overall, the job was done on-time, and on-budget. If anything, they actually did more work than what was originally quoted for me. We recommend them to anyone going through a home renovation project, big or small, and will definitely use them again for future home improvements!
