Poblocki Paving had been my go to company for driveway maintenance for several years. Any calls to them when I had issues were taken care of immediately. My driveway was the nicest in the neighborhood. People actually stopped by to ask who did my driveway. A year ago that all changed. They have become unrecognizable.

Two years ago they put a topcoat on my driveway as part of maintenance for my almost new driveway. Shortly after that the asphalt started to peel off in large pieces all over the driveway. Then hairline cracking over much of the surface. I called and Jill told me that they had problems with several customers during the same time and that it would be taken care of. They walked around and treated small areas, but it continued to peel. It really needed a new topcoat which never happened.

At the same time I had USA Insulation insulate my attic. Their trucks spilled chemicals on other areas while parked in my driveway. I talked to Jill about it and she was able to get USA Insulation to sign an agreement where they would pay for the driveway repair for $699.00 the following Spring.

This would have solved all of the problems.

The following Spring I contacted Poblocki Paving several times and no return calls, and no effort to fix the driveway or pursue the document they have which would have USA Insulation do their part in the repair of my driveway.

So for whatever reason, Poblocki Paving is taking a new approach to customer service. THERE IS NONE. I am very disappointed and wanted to share this with anyone who is thinking about hiring them.

A few days ago, the great folks at Poblocki Paving just completed crack filling and sealcoating of my residential driveway. I just wanted to express how over-the-top happy I am with the work they did... absolutely outstanding. My driveway looks nearly as good as the day it was first installed, and truthfully, it needed alot of work ti get it back in shape. It's beautiful now. I was a bit hesitant to contact Poblocki at first because I believed them to be this big commercial company that probably wouldn't be interested in my small residential job. Boy, was I wrong. From the sales person who provided the bid, to the crew who performed the work, to the office folks I spoke to about billing and scheduling... everything was PERFECT! ☆☆☆☆☆

Asphalt cracked with in the first year. The photos were taken 11 months after Poblocki replaced our existing driveway. Contacted Poblocki multiple times before they finally came out to put caulk in the cracks. If this what happens in less than a year, I can only imagine what the driveway will look like in 2 years or 5 years.

I reached out to request a quote for asphalting our fairly small driveway. I was connected with a project manager who mentioned two possible days he would come by to assess the project the following week. Unfortunately, he never showed up, and I only received an update after I followed up by phone. I was told he had been busy with a larger project. Once I mentioned that we were hoping to complete the work this year, he offered to come the next day.

Of all the companies I contacted, this quote was approximately 13% higher than most and 46% higher than the lowest bid. It was also the shortest site visit of any contractor we met with, which left me unsure of how thoroughly the project was evaluated.

In the end, we didn’t go with the least expensive option—we chose the company that demonstrated the strongest professionalism, responsiveness, and customer care.

I understand that delays can happen, but better communication and a sense that our smaller project mattered would have made a big difference.

We hired Poblocki Paving to crack fill and resurface our tennis court. The Foreman Efrain Martinez brought 30+ years of experience to the job, and he and his crew did outstanding work. We are very happy with their services and would highly recommend them.

When we first started looking to put in a pool, we were warned to be very careful of which company we chose, as there were some bad companies with people who had some really bad expiriences out there. Penguin built my pool in 2012 and has taken care of it for me ever since - keeping the chemicals balanced, maintaining and fixing equipment, closing in the winter and opening in the spring. They have always done an excellent job and I would highly recommend their service.

Matt R was extremely helpful. Despite being very busy he still took the time to assess if my pool was a candidate for a retro-fit autocover. Unfortunately, my pool is not a good candidate, but Matt proved that he is not just looking to sell services. He truly wants what is best for the customer.

Matt was great. He was exactly on time for all of our appointments to discuss putting in our pool. He stayed until all of our questions were answered even though it was evening time. They did an excellent job on our pool. We love it and are very happy with the services they provide.

The folks I worked with at Penguin Pools, specifically Matt, were nothing short of great. I am a pool owner and came to Matt with a problem and over the winter we exchanged several emails. He provided guidance, suggestions and ultimately sent a service person over to assist us - all without quoting service trip fees or anything else. Crazy, right?

It's rare to find a company that genuinely wants to help people, and that's who they are. Given that I am not an existing customer, nor did they install my pool, and yet they still provided that level of service speaks volumes. No doubt that I will give them my business any chance I can.

Matt and his team were awesome to work with for our pool build. They did a great job on our pool and the service afterwards has been wonderful. I highly recommend Penguin Pools for their workmanship, timeliness, and honesty.

Penguin is responsive and reasonably priced. The staff is professional and they’ve been helpful and patient in teaching us how to care for our pool. They’re also mosquito spraying for us this year which we’re excited to use as our outside can be very buggy in summer. We’d recommend them to anyone interested in building or maintaining a pool and the landscaping around it!

In many cases the thrill and excitement of a pool project can can be quickly or eventually squelched by hassles and disappointment. That was definitely NOT the case with Penguin Pools. Matt took care of me when I needed work done in a hurry. i sold my house with an in ground pool and a week before the closing one of the return pipes sprung a leak. Matt came out to my house personally to oversee the repair and save my home sale. He did such a good job that the new owner has hired Penguin Pools to open his pool this year.

If you want Amazing customer service, you need to contact Matt at Penguin Pools. We are attempting a DIY inground vinyl liner pool. I reached out to him even though we are well out of his service area. I had researched for hours and still had unanswered questions. I email Mat at Penguin pools at about 11pm on a Monday night. Being out of his service area and not a paying customer, I honestly did not expect to hear back from him. The very next morning at 7am sharp, I received a reply from Matt. He answered every question I had and literally sent pictures showing the process!! You do not get customer service like this these days. I had emailed at least half a dozen other pool companies (which I will not name) some local and some not. Matt was the only one that took the time to even reply. You can bet that any and all of my future pool supplies and accessories will come from Penguin. Thank you Matt!!

We have had Matt (Penguin Pools) take care of our pool for the past 7 years. We found him and the company to be very reliable and honest in their dealings with us. We purchased our home in 2010 and the in-ground pool was severely damaged, a disaster! Penguin pools did the repairs and made the pool look like new. The initial cleanup and removal of the destroyed liner and stagnant water was a big job. We are glad we didn't have to do it ourselves. When they installed the new liner, pump and LED light they also recommended and installed the salt generator. WOW! What a smart decision and a great job done! Penguin Pool now closes my pool every year in the fall. It's nice knowing it's done right. They have our business for life. This is our first in-ground pool and we couldn't be happier!

My wife and I did an extensive review before choosing our in-ground pool installer, and we are EXTREMELY happy with the decision to use Matt & Penguin Pools.
