Sadly, we’ve had a terrible experience with recreational concepts. After investing in a very pricey hot tub less than 9 months ago, it has been broken multiple times and there’s literally no communication with recreational concepts during their “busy months”. I have been waiting for months to have my hot tub fixed, it leaks so much it has to be filled daily. There’s so much standing water around the hot tub that there is mildew and mosquito larva on the patio In the standing water. I have called and sent emails repeatedly, not once have they returned my call and given an update. Their excuse is that they don’t have anybody to fix hot tubs consistently and that it takes a long time to get parts, yet when I tried to look online to get the part myself, it would be delivered in a week. This is a top of the line hot tub that is under full warranty. I have asked to speak with the owner and every time they tell me he’s unavailable and that he does not have an email address. Unbelievable.

We purchased a condo that had a hot tub that was purchased from Recreational Concepts. We had never owned one and needed to know how to maintain it. Teri was so helpful. We purchased the maintenance products and returned a couple times since then. Have always been treated well and had our questions answered.

The one thing I can be sure of is that I receive these emails to send a review. Other than that, I am not sure of anything. I ordered head rest replacements months ago and still nothing. My hot tub has leaked 4 times in 4 years with 2 of those times being recently. Can’t get a hold of Cortney, her inbox is full and no one calls back. Spent 14k and the hot tub has had many issues.

We had our pool built almost 3 years ago. I love this company. Went one other place once, never again. Rec Concepts for service, chemicals, questions. They are the best. Special shout out to Cortney for her willingness to always help. And to all the guys who’ve been to the house to open, close, service the pool. We will never go elsewhere.

Recreational Concepts installed our pool and historically, we have been very happy with them but Summer 2025 has been horrendous.
Earlier this summer, we determined our pool liner was leaking to the point where we needed a new liner and wanted to discuss the option of installing a tanning ledge. Courtney initially was responsive but after she estimated it would be an extra $10k for the tanning ledge, we told her to proceed with a quote for the new liner only. I'd like to note that Courtney started off the summer well with good communication and their techs were out to fix problems with our pool a few times -- the service was excellent however, after July, it seems like Courtney either quit her job and they found no one to replace her or she picks and chooses the customers who she helps. Her inbox is constantly full. If you leave a message with the person at the front who does answer, there is zero follow up. If you call and ask to speak to Jeff the owner, you are told he is "busy" and don't get a call back either. We even stopped in to see Courtney, we were told to wait and she would be right out but after finding out who we were we were told she would be "busy the rest of the day".
Finally in September, I reached Jennifer who started off by telling me the quote took longer because of the tanning ledge -- mind you this is something we told Courtney months earlier that we didn't want. Jennifer did answer her phone a few times and was very helpful in answering questions about a new liner that we desperately need. She said there was a good chance for a fall installation. Mind you, at this point, we have not been able to use the pool since the end of July. After I signed the contract and they cashed our check for over $5200 there has been zero follow up and again we are being ghosted. When I did reach Jennifer a few weeks ago she said she would "check with Courtney" and call back. I have heard nothing. No calls from messages left with the front office or after a call back I requested from Jeff.
My husband and I were told several times this summer that their horrendous customer service should be excused because they were "so short staffed". This is a problem everywhere and could be excused if there was any sort of communication. A simple, "we are so sorry for the delay but you're on the schedule for X date" is all that is necessary. Ghosting paying customers is, unacceptable. Additionally, I don't understand why they can't hire extra seasonal help during the summer (I know several college students looking for summer employment!). After reading reviews now, this seems to happen every year.
We lost a month and a half of pool time this summer because we time and time again gave them the benefit of the doubt. This company has amazing techs who are always very kind and nice but the horrendous customer service and lack of any sort of communication with customers who WANT TO GIVE THEM MONEY FOR THEIR SERVICES is going to put them out of business. -
Worst experience imaginable. Worst communication, no follow-up and no desire to do better. We prepaid for our liner to replaced for our in-ground pool 5 months ago. We were told that they were backed up and that they would reach out shortly before installation would be scheduled. This did not happen. We called repeately over the course of spring and summer trying to determine when we would be getting our liner installed. No return phone calls. Left numerous messages and emails, spoke with staff who said they would help to find out where we were in the schdule - again no follow up correspondance. Absolutely horrible. In October, afer pool season has passed, they came to the house and installed the liner, only to cover the pool jets and the light with the liner and then completely filled the pool with water to cover the unfinished job.
We immediately caught issue and called to have it corrected. They said that were waiting for a part to come in for the light and would come back. That was 3 weeks ago and again with no communication- no follow up. We now have a large body of water filling with leaves that is unusable as it stands. -
I had a Pentair warranty claim for a faulty pool heater that was assigned to Recreational Concepts. I was told I should be contacted within 72 hours. After a week, I called and had to leave a message to ask for an update, no response. After two weeks I sent an email asking for an update, no response. After three weeks I drove to the physical office to ask for an update and was told that if I left a message they will get back to me, with little to no customer service. Now after 4 weeks of waiting for a response from Recreational Concepts, Pentair was willing to pull this work order from them and reassign it to another company. Unfortunately costing me 4 weeks of potential pool use during our short Wisconsin summers.
This is the same level of customer service we experienced when we were in the market to purchase the pool as well, and why we chose to go elsewhere at that time.
If you prefer any type of communication or responsiveness, I would recommend looking elsewhere for your needs. -
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We couldn’t be happier with our experience working with Recreational Concepts! From start to finish, their team delivered exceptional results, our new pool and landscaping are absolutely stunning.
The quality of work speaks for itself, but what truly sets them apart is their teamwork and professionalism. Every crew member we interacted with was friendly, respectful, and clearly passionate about their craft. They communicated with us throughout the process, stayed on schedule, and worked seamlessly together to bring our vision to life.
If you’re considering a backyard transformation, look no further. Recreational Concepts is the real deal; highly skilled, incredibly reliable, and an absolute pleasure to work with. Thank you for creating a space our family will enjoy for years to come! -
Jeff was super to work with. He worked with our landscaping contractor to determine best spot for our Hot Tub. Terri in the office took her time to show us different Hot Tubs that we could select from. Jeff's field guys were great to work with. They helped us work through the learning curve since this was our first hot tub. Jeff and his staff are wonderful to work with!

Had them plant some shrubs. Service was okay but a bit disjointed. Would not use this company again.
-
Love this place! Great workers. Ways try to get the work done on time but, they dont rush. Which a great quality.
-
An employee failed to tarp plants in a dump trailer going down the highway and pelted my vehicle with leaves, sticks, stones, etc leaving chips in my paint and stains all over the front of my vehicle if you’re looking to hire someone professional DO NOT hire these guys.

I recently did business with Josh Cobb. Unfortunately the man has poor character. Be forewarned.
-
Their lawnmower kicked up a rock and shattered a car window but they claim as there were no witnesses, they are not at fault. Avoid this company and their despicable lack of customer service.
