My husband and I couldn't be more pleased with Affordable Tree Care. They came almost immediately after our trees were damaged by high wind and gave us an estimate. Then they kept us informed as they called utilities to have them mark appropriate lines and waited for WE Energies to come and clear a few branches from the power lines before ATC could begin. The ATC crew of five that took down a huge willow, maple and elm in our yard were meticulous and delivered results way above our expectations. Their great attitude and work ethic made losing these old "friends" a little easier to bear.

Amazing service! They went above and beyond when removing our tree in the front yard. Extremely professional, safety conscious, friendly staff. I couldn't recommend them more. I have them coming out to remove even more trees!

These people are terrible. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. I had 3 trees to die, because they were planted too deep.
Customer service will lie to you. The lady was suppose to call me back but never did. She tried to place the blame on me for the trees, but I followed the exact directions that they gave me to follow. The trees were maple trees, which we know are very expensive. You get a year's warrantly but most of the time the winter takes up most of it. By the time you find out how the tree is doing, the warrantly has expired. You only get to replace one tree. If the replacement doesn't grow, you lose your money.
Please plant them yourself or get someone else, not affordable tree care. -
These guys are great !! I would definitely recommend them to everyone. Even Deb the receptionist was amazing and very sweet and helpful. They were very professional had all the equipment they needed to do the job , which I might add was not an easy one . Priced fairly and came in an emergency situation. Thank you Affordable Tree Care 😀

In response to the owners response from my post a year ago...and instead of adding to my first review I'll make your ratings go down more... Everyone please note how much bologna they are feeding you, they claimed to have checked with my neighbors to see if they had power after snapping the power lines but they failed to mention ANYTHING to us about doing the damage AT ALL. Doesn't that seem a little strange and like a big fat lie? Especially since they talked to us after the damage happened and didn't bother to mention it, but according to them they went out of their way to ask our neighbors if they had power...hmm? Also, the police man said we could've pressed charges against the company since he was considering the incident a hit and run since we caught the whole thing on camera and they said nothing to us about it and just left. When something like this happens the person at fault should be the one that wastes five hours of precious time on a Saturday fixing their mistake, not running away, supposedly calling the power company, and pretending like nothing happened. It's ILLEGAL. Then to top it off when I called on Monday they still acted like nothing happened. Worst experience ever, even a year later. They're LUCKY we didn't press charges because we could have... HIT AND RUN. We still have the video footage if they'd like to argue it. There are hundreds of other companies that cut trees, seriously don't choose this one.
Also Deb, my review has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with the tree cutting work that was done. It has to do with the extremely low standards and ETHICS your company clearly follows and the horrible customer service you provide. I forgive honest mistakes, this one was completely dishonest in every single way.
Ugh, and another thing...Everything they said is A COMPLETE LIE, I could go on and on... The lines weren't hanging low people, oh no. They didn't put the bucket on the truck down as they drove out of driveway, it was still all the way up like someone was in the bucket up in a tree as they drove out of driveway. Again, ALL caught on our camera if you want to see! And again I forgive honest mistakes if they deserve forgiveness...this one deserves a public announcement. -
I would NOT recommend this company. There are MESSY. I had tree branches, sticks and debris all over my yard, both of my neighbors yards and in the street. I called them back and they came and picked up about 2-3 bags full and told me they picked it all up. It was a holiday weekend and I knew they would not be open so I spent over 6 hours picking up the debris from the grass before someone ran over it with their lawn mower. They then came back a 7 days later to pick up and I showed them the rocks that were full of tree branches. I was told that it is hard to pick up the sticks in the rocks and they picked up a different area for about 15 min. and left. I ended up picking up the sticks in the rocks myself. A worker did come and pick up all the debris that I had picked up and said that it was unacceptable . All I have asked is to meet with the owner and they refuse to meet with me.

Affordable Tree Service has done work for us over many years now. They have taken down trees after storms, removed branches from an ancient oak that shades our house and always cut it up as we asked. I recommend them wholeheartedly.

I would have given 5 stars for the work done. Cleaned up well. However, the office and owner are truly the rudest and most offensive unprofessional people I have ever dealt with.
When I mailed in the confirmation to accept the estimate, it stated, payment must be received the day services are rendered. I was fairly sure I would not be able to take off work to be there for the removal of the tree; therefore, I mailed the check with the work confirmation. They came and removed the tree but never cash the check.
A week after the tree was removed, I received a invoice with a balance due of $263.75. My husband called their office and explained that we mailed the check with the confirmation to have the work done. The girl stated that she "may have thrown it out". So I called the office asking for a $30 credit because their office lost my check and I am being charged by my bank a stop payment fee of $30.
The girl then told me that people try to get their bill reduced by lying all the time and said that I was probably just trying to get my bill reduced. I explained that I could provide a copy of my bank statement with the fee for the stop payment, which will prove that I am not lying. And then she said that I probably never sent the check because there is no proof that I sent the check. I also told her I could send a picture of copy of the "carbon copy of the check". And she continued to tell me that customers are always lying to them. I am highly offended that the office girl would speak to me like that. Additionally, she said she would ask the owner if a credit could be provided. And I asked her if she could have the owner call me if he a credit would not be granted and with attitude she said "we'll see". The childishness I encountered on the phone with this company is unbelievable.
I emailed the the company's e-mail on their website and recieved a response containing lies, refusing a credit and stating "If we do not receive complete payment by Tuesday September 13th then we will have not choice but to escalate things to the next level which would be a shame for both of us." This statement was totally unnecessary. I never expressed in the slightest that I would not pay for the services. I also need to add that Sept 13 is a Saturday and this email took place on Sept 18 so they needs to take a better look at the calendar.
Furthermore, the the owner and office girls I have spoken with or emailed keep insisting that I give them my credit card and that I do not need to put a stop payment on the check that they lost, which is a huge red flag to me. -
We had a basswood tree blown down in our back yard. We called Affordable the next day. A day later I noticed someone walking away from our door so I stopped him. He was from Affordable. Rather than talk to me he said I should read the estimate and contact the company. When I opened the estimate, he had scratched out basswood and wrote in that the tree was a silver maple. Further he noted that he had talked to my neighbor about bringing equipment through his yard. The estimate was for $1500. I immediately called the company to clarify. The woman I talked to apparently contacted the estimator while I was on the phone. She informed me that I only had a silver maple and crab apple tree. There are actually 14 trees in my back yard.
It is clear that he never stepped foot in my back yard. Instead, he stood in my neighbor's yard looking into my back yard from 50 feet way. He could not see past the large silver maple and made a ton of assumptions.
Affordable did send a different estimator the next day. When I explained what must have happened, his response was "People make mistakes." He proceeded to give an estimate on the right tree for $750-$850 depending on whether I had the stump grinding also.
Given what had happened the previous day, I had gotten two other estimates. Affordable's was the cheapest by $50. However, given the events that had taken place I decided to go with a different company. I was not willing to take the risk given the incompetence and excuses that Affordable's employees had demonstrated. -
We called for the estimate March 5th. No one came out until the 18th and they said it would be late spring by the time the tree came out. We said fine- we knew they’d be busy. The arborist came into the backyard and gave a fair estimate. Not the cheapest, but most property owners in Racine recommend them, so we went on the waiting list.
They called us the day before- awesome. They said they’d be out between 8-9 the next day. Perfect! The trucks showed up at 7:45 and take a look at the back yard- I see the guy taking pictures- thinking it was for insurance purposes. Then they leave…. All of them. THEY LEFT THE BACK GATE OPEN… I have 2 dogs. The puppy almost sprinted out of the back yard. I’m so glad something told me I needed to go out with her at that very moment.
An hour later another gentleman comes back to tell me parts of my fence had to come down. No where in the estimate stated that. Had it stated it, we would have arranged to have that taken care of. The gentleman was nice enough to take down the panel of the fence and not charge us.
The guys came back after lunch and got to work. They were quick and got the mess cleaned up and they left.
I went into the backyard only to find they completely trashed our backyard grass. They didn’t use plywood like the estimate said they would. They literally drove the bobcat over brand new grass (that could clearly be seen). These weren’t just divots. These were track marks from the bobcat completely down to dirt. All. Over. The. Yard. They also broke slats on our fence from the remote crane they needed to use in the neighbors yard.
It took a week of fighting with the company for them to come out just to lay seed. No apologies, no taking responsibility. Their claim was “well, we are in a drought”- to which my husband explained to them that we water our backyard. Wherever the bobcat wasn’t, the grass was still green.
Seed was laid today…. An hour before a thunderstorm. -
Affordable Tree Care took care of a parkway tree that was hanging over my yard. They were very professional and left my property clean and now I have better use of my yard. I had tried companies that were closer to me but either received no return call or quotes that were double what was Affordable charged.
I am looking at a new house and will use them their as well without question. -
I contacted them for an estimate for some tree removal. They gave me an estimate...... I accepted it and and they came out and removed two trees. I paid them what the invoice said was owed....a day later they called and told me that they made a mistake in their calculation and I am responsible for the balance or else they would take me to small claims court...when they are the one that made the mistake ....AVOID USING THEM IF YOU CAN!!!

My Grandmother called for bid, Jeff was there within a week or so. Explained to her what trees should be trimmed and which shouldnt. The honesty was greatly appreciated and of course we accepted the contract! He also gave her a senior discount! Highly recommend!

We had a 60 - 80 foot tall Chinese Elm tree in our front yard split and crash down into our maple tree taking half of that tree out during the recent ice storm The next day I called Affordable Tree Care and requested an estimate on removing the other 2 halves of these two trees To my Extreme surprise , the very next day they had what I consider from past experience to be an Extremely Reasonable price I immediately gave them a go ahead to begin The office secretary called me back the same day and informed me that they could be there the very next morning I thanked her and reminded her that the next day was Saturday, thinking she meant Monday, her reply was , oh , yes , we will be there tomorrow and work Saturdays . Working Saturday in itself surprised me Saturday morning arrived and my doorbell rang at precisely 8:00 as promised and I was greeted by 4 men and a brigade of heavy equipment ready to do the job I was informed that the job should take about 5 hours to complete and low and behold in 5 hours it was ! This team cut down the remaining half of this 60- 80 foot tall tree as well as the 30 foot maple , craned the huge trunks over the creek and loaded all of the logs on trucks hauling them away The team also gathered all branches and shredded them and ground the stumps after completely cleaning up my yard as well as my neighbors. These guys completed this job remarkably in exactly the time given without any one of them taking a single break I would Highly recommend Affordable Tree Care

We called and spoke to a lady over the phone and she said they don’t schedule estimates. So I asked how long do ya think? She said a week or so….😳😳 So after about a week I called back, the lady told the man that the estimates is working ing the yard and isn’t doing estimates. So again I asked again how long until you could give an estimate, her reply was about a week or so. 😲 so I then called another tree service and I had an estimate the next day and they (Great View Tree Service) where here the next day cutting my tree down. They did such a good job we had them cut down another tree. As for Affordable Tree Care, with as had as it was to never get an estimate, i wonder how long would it take to cut the TREE down, and do they expect you to pay a deposit??? I will NEVER recommend this company
to anyone ever!! -
Great experience from call to completion of the stump removal. Communication excellent. Affordable as well. Thank you!

I've been a customer. This tree service has a proven track record with me. Very professional.

I have had Affordable Tree Care for all our tree removals and they are wonderful. They are always on time, very professional and very hard working. When I received the estimate for the work I needed today it was suppose to take 3 hours but was done in less time. They always clean up the property and the price was what I expected. I would recommend this company for any of your yard needs.

Very fast and hard working crew. Clean up was continuous. Made quick work of the large maple tree that fell partially on the neighbor’s garage. Thank you!

The guy they sent kept hacking and spitting in my yard. He said they couldn't make my tree look like a lollipop, (even though the last time they came out, my trees looked pretty good). His long tool that trims branches broke and he tried to fix it, but he reminded "me" that I'm being " charged by the hour" when I tried to tell them what I wanted. I was also not given a quote this time, prior to asking Michelle three or four times. I was charged for two men when it was a very small job. All I was told is "it would be less expensive than last time"

On Friday, 10/4/24. Affordable Tree Care came to my home to remove an old, dying hedge. Roberto and another gentleman (I didn’t get his name - apologies) arrived on time and removed my tall, long hedge in less than 30 minutes. Jeff was also there helping with clean up and raking the area where the hedge used to be getting it ready for the fence that will be installed in its place next week.
All 3 gentlemen were professional, polite, knowledgeable, and friendly. I appreciate their service and the excellent job they did clearing out and cleaning up the space.
Thank you so much! Don’t hesitate to call them, reasonable pricing, professional workers and great service!
