Be leery of doing business with Glacier Landscape in Verona. While there are always two sides to a story, we believe this business is unreliable and unable to build relationships with their clients. When we confronted the owner of this company about our concerns, we were faced with defensiveness, excuses, lies about agreed to deadlines. We were abruptly abandoned and left with a breach of contract. Despite having a frank and open discussion at the onset of our business with the vice-president about our need for open communication, we struggled multiple times to get updates on scheduling. We tried to reconcile with the owner several times after the initial confrontation to only be told to not come to the business, that we had threatened their employees (we did not), not to call the business, and that our deposit would only be returned less any balance we currently owed on other contracts with Glacier – leaving us immediately with an incomplete project and no lawncare.

Glacier landscape provided fast, efficient service to provide a stopgap measure for flood mitigation. We are deeply grateful. We only waited a few days to have an on-site assessment of the work with a landscape architect. Then the architect was able to expedite the work and have it completed after just one business day. They helped compensate for a long-standing delay at the HOA. Their excellent service will sustain us until we get the full landscaping done next spring. Thank you!

The Steven R Bassett Company has done just about everything we have needed on our property for many years. They have frequently shown us ways to save dollars while still producing excellent results. They have taken care of our lawn and trees, and done some landscaping. Best of all, we know that these senior citizens can trust them.

We had Bassett give us an estimate touching on several areas including planting trees, dividing some overgrown hostas as well as updating some existing planting beds. We were up front with them and told them we would want to do some research on their suggestions and then discuss any concerns or ideas. We’ve learned the hard way with previous landscapers that you need to be thorough and informed when it comes to the work or you end up with a less than ideal result. The initial contact was great. My husband was very impressed with Ben’s knowledge, but the follow through was less than I had hoped for. I didn’t swamp him with emails. I simply had a couple of questions about the types of trees and when they should be planted. His initial reply was quick but past the first email, things fell off from there. We had hoped to get trees planted in the fall. Ben lagged in responding to the 2 emails I sent him and when he finally did respond, he suggested that we wait a year before having any landscaping done. I read between the lines - his resistance to communicating with me along with his suggestion that we push back the work – everything until next summer led me to believe that he was hoping we’d just go away. I emailed and shared my concerns that he was perhaps too busy to take on any new business and got zero reply. So, my instincts were obviously correct. If he had truly wanted our business, he would have called or emailed. I’m not a problem / high maintenance customer who demanded too much attention. We were looking to spend several thousand dollars on landscaping and I simply wanted to make sure of what we were getting and what would work best for our needs. It was a very disappointing experience. I gave them 2 stars because as I said Ben was very knowledgeable, but they clearly did not want our business.

We have engaged Bassett’s services for a number of years for a reason; attentive, caring, responsible, clean, friendly, professional and available. We truly endorse Bassett and am grateful for their services.

We use Bassett for all of our landscaping and lawn care needs. We recently had a family reunion and many commented on how great everything looked. They made a special effort to be here the day before so everything was in top shape for our get together. Highly recommend to anyone looking for quality lawn and landscape service.

The BEST Arborist and Tree Trimmers! Always clean up after their work, are careful to not tear up our lawn. They are responsive, communicate when they will be on site and and always show up.

My partner and I have owned the same property for 8 years, we've had limbs and entire trees taken down which have crossed property lines...NEVER have we been able to proceed on a project without the company or myself at least informing our neighbor of the removal. From my office desk I watched this team (whom I did not hire) not only jump the fence to my back yard but unlock the gate to my back yard multiple times. I called to complain to the owner and his response was that he spoke with the team site, and they said they rang the doorbell. I have video evidence that this team did not knock or ring a doorbell on any of the 3 doors to my home. When I shared that I have video evidence the owner’s response was "well he doesn't usually lie to me, I'm not sure why he would lie" as if I developed this elaborate complaint from the space between my toes. I would suggest considering a different landscaping service for your tree removal if you have any concern for your neighbor’s property or privacy. This act is called trespassing. This act is illegal. I really would have appreciated an offer to assess for damages or even a flat apology. It was frustrating to have the owner challenge my complaint as I sit at my desk watching his team trespass on my own property.

These folks are fantastic. They are top notch professionals Austin and his crew are very kind and courteous. The trees and lawn look fantastic. I couldn't recommend any company more than Bassett. They will be who I call when my trees need trimming again or I need any landscaping..

We moved into our current home in March 1985 and initially worked with several landscaping companies, but I was never completely satisfied and ended up switching providers frequently. That changed when I discovered Steven R. Bassett, Inc., now simply known as Bassett, Inc.

This past summer (2024), a massive branch from a neighbor’s large oak tree fell in our yard during a severe storm, and without hesitation, I called Bassett, Inc. Austin led the team that swiftly removed the branch from way up high where it was still partially attached to the tree, from our yard, fence, and foliage. They were professional, knowledgeable, and equipped with the right tools, including safety gear. They even cleaned up every last bit of debris, down to the stray leaves that had fallen onto our deck during the storm. This level of service didn’t surprise me, as I’ve been a loyal customer since February 17, 1998. While I can't recall the specific services provided on that date, my Quicken records indicate a check (#5149 for $260) for "Yard/Outdoors," and clearly, whatever they did impressed me enough to continue using their services every year since.

Over the past 26 years, Bassett has handled major landscaping projects, including tree plantings, minor landscaping jobs, summer maintenance (weeding, fertilizing, mowing), seasonal pruning, fall cleanup, and care for our two huge oak trees—I've asked Theresa countless questions about my beloved oak trees which she always patiently answers! Additionally, they have managed our snow removal since December 2007.

I’ve been thoroughly satisfied with Bassett's service for over 26 years, so I wanted to share my experience. If you're looking for a reliable landscaping company, based on my experiences, I can confidently recommend Bassett, Inc. They are professional, knowledgeable, prompt, thorough, friendly, and—most importantly—consistent.

Extremely pleased with this companies work. They have completed two separate jobs for us, both professionally finished with no issues whatsoever. Our jobs were 1. dead tree removal and 2. removal of trees that had fallen on our fence. They are respectful of our property and leave the site clean and neat. Estimates are in line and pricing is fair. I would highly recommend this company!

We need a couple maple trees taken down and Theresa with Bassett came out to view the property, the trees and make her recommendations. They were very helpful with our questions (these were massive maple trees near our house) and provide a great fee for the work. I highly recommend!!!!

I have a large piece of property with several tree-related projects (a few down trees, tree trimming, trees that were sickly that either needed to be cut down or needed treatment). Theresa came out to take a look and was incredibly helpful. She answered all of my questions and gave advice/recommendations without being pushy about anything. In the end it was a big list of tasks for the crew, but the crew worked quickly, did a fantastic job, and was incredibly nice and helpful! Because of the variety of tasks that were needed (treatment for some trees, removal of some trees), I ended up working with several different people in the company and everyone of them was very kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. The final bill was also VERY reasonable considering all the work that needed doing and how well that work was done. I will definitely be coming back to Bassett for future tree-related issues and highly recommend them!
