★★★★★ — Our Second Home with Builder and They Exceeded Expectations Again

My husband and I just completed our second custom home with Matt Parnell, now with Willow Ridge Design Build, and the experience was every bit as exceptional as the first. When you trust a builder with a second project — especially one of this complexity — it says everything about how the first one went.
This home is on Lake Mendota, a three-story custom build on a narrow 28’ x 75’ footprint that required creative thinking at every turn to maximize space without sacrificing the luxury finishes and lake views that were central to our vision. The result was selected as a 2025 Parade of Homes site, which speaks for itself, but the finished product only tells part of the story.
What sets the Willow Ridge team apart is the process. They started by genuinely listening — understanding what we wanted, how we lived, and what would make this home feel uniquely ours. They were patient through the entire selection process for cabinetry, flooring, countertops, and colors (no small thing on a project at this level), and they brought real creativity to features we hadn’t even thought of ourselves. The collaboration with Hannah Dahl Designs was seamless and added tremendous value to the interior design vision. Hannah was available for any questions whether it was about lighting, paint or flooring. Her knowledge of our build was infinite.

Molli Babler brings a real estate and design perspective that complements Matt’s 30+ years of building experience — together they run a tight, professional, client-first operation. If you’re considering a custom home in the Dane County area, I wouldn’t hesitate to call them. This is our second home together, and I’d do it a third time without question.

Willow Ride provides great service with quick response. If you are looking for a great builder in the Madison area, Willow Ridge is for you!

Matt and Molli are the perfect team! With Matt’s construction experience and Molli’s design and real estate expertise, they have all the skills to ensure you have the best experience in an often complex process. That was definitely our experience and we can’t say enough great things about them!

Willow Ridge delivered a true turn-key process. Throughout the entire experience both Matt and Molli were responsive to all of our inquiries and coached us through the building process. They provided numerous options, and we were able to make decisions that fit our needs and budget. Our new home is truly our forever home, and we look forward to spending many years enjoying it. Thank you Matt and Molli!

Working with Molli and Matt was the best. They not only helped us find our lot to build on, but listened to our design/build requests. We met with them throughout the building process to learn next steps, hear ideas, and make decisions. And they helped us stay on budget AND on time with our construction loan!! Would highly recommend Willow Ridge Design Build!

I waited until the landscaping was in before I wrote this post. I was a little hesitant when I first met with Molli and Matt because I was not familiar with Willow Ridge Design Build. However, I was won over by the end result. I love this place, and I am extremely happy with my decision to have them build my new home. Molli and Matt are friendly and easy to work with. They even look like their pictures on the website! I highly recommend Willow Ridge Design Build.

Matt & Molli are tow of the nicest people you ever want to meet. They build great homes that are not only very functional with great layouts and efficient.

Horrible customer service.
Won't return phone calls or emails. Was ready to a modified model. Avoid this this business.

Patriot Builders built a vacation home for my parents and we are all loving the time we get to spend there!

These guys are great to work with and do exceptional work! We will definitely hire them again for any upcoming projects!

We enjoyed working with Patriot Builders on the construction of our lake house. The house is exactly what we dreamed of and will be used by our family for years to come.

I was very happy with the finished project, a brand new sub floor and LVT laid in the bathroom. They also installed a brand new cupboard built into the wall. After the job was completed I had one very small issue I wanted fixed and Kyle sent someone over a couple days later and it was fixed! Would highly recommend.

I have used Patriot Builders for several projects on my investment properties along with my personal residence. They are very professional, helpful, and timely with all aspects of their work. I highly recommend using Patriot Builders for your next project!

From the moment we contracted with Patriot Builders to the moment of project completion, the team was professional positive, and delightful to work with! There was so many technically difficult issues about the build and they were handled with aplomb. The talent and skills sets are unmatched.
Kyle was very easy to work with and would take the time needed to explain things and listen to our desires. I would highly recommend Patriot Builders together with Patriot Properties who handled the billing process really well.

I've worked with Patriot Builders on a number of occasions, and can recommend them with high confidence. Their entire team is very professional and easy to work with and in my experience, they've consistently exceeded my expectations on quality and value. Including the tray ceiling they just finished, looks great!

Fantastic they do great work , timeliness and attention to detail is important to them! This is just one of many recent projects that Patriot Builders has done for us. We did a full bathroom tear out to replace it with this beautiful marble. Will continue to use them and highly recommend you do as well!
