Electrical reviews in Daphne, Alabama

Smoot Electric literally came to the rescue - with a wiring situation that had become dangerous, needed immediate attention, and with other companies unable to get to us quickly. Jeff responded to diagnose the issue, then checked in daily until a full repair crew was able (delayed only because of 3 days of heavy rain) to replace our home’s entire back panel/breakers and meter box - a full day job requiring Baldwin EMC on site as well. Smoot coordinated the utility permit, and the crew did a professional, thoughtful job down to every detail - thoroughly explaining the project along the way. Look forward to recommending Smoot Electric to any and all!

I highly recommend Smoot Electric! I had 4 recessed lights on my front porch and wanted to replace 2 of the lights with ceiling fans. Jeff did such an amazing job. He wired both fans and provided a new switch so that they ran separately. Most important to me - Jeff did the job without any of the wiring for the new fans showing - all of the wiring was behind the walls and ceiling. Very professional and excellent results!

Had difficult time finding electrician service. Called Smoot Electric and spoke with manager/scheduler Tracey. To my surprise she had someone at home immediately. Was very happy to have such fast response time. Great job - will only be calling Smoot going forward.

We are selling our house and have some updates to do before closing. Smoot scheduled our repairs a couple of weeks out but finished another job early and were able to get to us a week early. They ran into a problem with our tiles but were quickly able to come up with a solution. They even read our home inspection and noticed something I had forgotten to request fixed. I highly recommend them and will definitely use them again!

I cannot say enough 👍👍 about this service. Smoot was my first choice, especially after reading all the great reviews. Bill Wolfe, Trent, and 2 other men, sorry I can't remember their names, but they're brothers. They fixed an electrical problem we had dealt with for years. They identified problem, then fixed it!! And Lord bless them, they had to go into our attic, which is not easy to move around up there. They were prompt, courteous, professional and polite, and the price was super reasonable. Smoot Electric will forever be my "go to" for any electric work I need. I would give them more than 5 stars if I could. Thanks so much fellas for fixing us up. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!!

We are very satisfied with the experience. We called for non-emergency work (installation of additional outlets in bathrooms), yet they were able to schedule the work to be done in less than a week. The office called the day before the work to confirm the appointment and again after the work to be sure we were satisfied. The crew got right to work and finished quickly in a professional manner, including cleaning up the drywall dust from where the holes for the new outlets were cut. The cost was quite reasonable. I am normally suspicious of companies or products with 95+% five star reviews. However, it is certainly deserved in the case of Smoot Electric.

Smoot Electric Company is an outstanding company. Tracey set me up for an estimate and Bill came out immediately! His estimate was accurate and fair. His team, Corbin and Alex showed up on time, were very professional and efficient! I recommend them for any electrical job!

I am so pleased with Smoot electric! I recently moved to the area and needed to update our electrical. They are very knowledgeable and very good pricing! I had another company quote me 3 times more than Smoot. I don't remember all their names but thank you Bill and Tracy and Greg and the whole crew!

The wait time for an appt from two other electric companies was 10 days to 2 weeks. Smoot was the third company I called. They were at my home in less than 2 1/2 hours. The tech quickly diagnosed the problem, discussed it with me detailing the work to be done, the time it would take, the approximate cost and had it fixed within 40 minutes from arriving at my home. From the initial phone call to the service call Smoot was courteous, obliging, knowledgeable, and efficient. They will be my first call from now on.

Tracy in the office was very accommodating in scheduling an appointment. She said the electricians should be at my house at 8:00 and they were here at the exact quoted time. My problem was quickly evaluated and corrected in a very timely manner. They will definitely be my go to source for any future electrical issues. I felt the price was also reasonable.

I was very pleased with Smoot Electric Co from the first contact I had with them. They came out and listened to what our needs were and offered suggestions, which helped me make decisions. We received a very reasonable quote, agreed upon, and then they completed the work in a timely manner. They were polite, personable, professional, knowledgeable and they cleaned up. Very considerate. I will definitely use them again.

We had just completed a pool and we were looking to create the right ambiance in our backyard. I am glad I decided to call Smoot Electrical. Jeff promptly replied to our request to evaluate our yard and he provided us with a very reasonable estimate. Jeff made me feel comfortable and confident as he offered many ideas and plans to create the right atmosphere.
Greg and Dave had arrived at our home at the appointed time. The plan was meticulously reviewed throughout each step. I certainly appreciated our interactions and was made to feel valued. More so, before each step of the plan was carried out, Greg had found me and sought my feedback through the entire process.
Overall, I have been extremely satisfied with the quality of work received and I would highly recommend Smoot electrical without any reservations. I have already provided neighbors and friends with this information. -
They have quality service I have witnessed it first hand. they even have a quality assurance. Crew that double checks everything

One of the drivers almost ran me off the road on government street. Hire better drivers.

This place uses unlicensed brand new hires to wire new homes. I’m sure there will be tons of electrical issues in the future. Watch out if you purchase a DR Horton house done by them. Besides that they refuse to pay overtime and owe me for over 50 hours of work.

I just had my AC Units tuned up and could not be more satisfied with the service. My technician, Chris Kelly, was professional and patient with all my questions. I will definitely be a repeat customer.

TL;DR: technician installed a breaker not up to code on a warranty call and lied to me and the supervisor.
We scheduled an appointment for Strada Electrical to come out last Friday for a breaker that started randomly tripping overnight between 3 and 7 AM.
The technician arrived but called and texted the wrong number and instead of knocking on the door to see if I was home, decided to just leave a note saying he waited and I would have to reschedule. I immediately called and complained about him saying he texted and called but never actually knocked or anything (our camera picked him up dropping off the door hanger and leaving).
The company said they would send another guy out later that day. He came out and spent about 10 minutes at the house checking the outlets. He gave me his number and said to call him if it kept happening and he would come out then.
It continued happening but he was too busy to come back during the work day. The only times he asked if he could come out was Sunday "after church" and Monday night at 7:30 pm. I told him I'd rather him come during the week and told him it was too late that day respectively..
He did come out Wednesday morning after I let him know it went out again. He spent a few minutes here and said he replaced the breaker with a bigger breaker and it should fix the issue. I let my husband know what they did and thankfully he had a question about it. He researched that solution and looked at the breaker when he got home that day.
Turns out the tech that came out Removed theGFCI/AFCI breaker and replaced it with an $8 breaker that had no fault protection on it. This was for an indoor space that did not have any GFCI outlets in the space. This is not up to code. His "fix" was to put our house at risk just to be done with us.
After speaking with the supervisor, we found out that the tech had not communicated any of this to him as he was under the impression it had been resolved at the first visit. We were told that "he talked to the tech and he actually installed an AFCI breaker, not a larger breaker." My husband had to send the supervisor a picture of the breaker for him to see that it was NOT an AFCI.
The supervisor came out the next morning (Thursday morning) and replaced the breaker with an AFCI breaker.
I appreciate that they have tried to make it right, but the tech still has his job and the concern now is that the company is accepting the fact that he knowingly installed a breaker that was not up to code.. and if my husband hadn't questioned the solution, we would not have known the wiser. We would currently have a breaker box not up to code and who knows what could have happened if we did have an actual Arc issue (or similar).
All I'm saying is that the if you use them or have used them, double check all their work because there is no telling what work was actually done. -
One of your drivers is driving his work van to Walmart and I know that this is against your policy. Good workers are honest. This isn’t honest. Just wanted to let you know. I think a lot of your company and know that they do good work..……
