Update; No attempt to contact us from the company to discuss the issues, do the right things, and fix the problems.

It is a huge safety issues and we couldn't wait any longer them to contact us and discuss the issues since it is a huge safety issues as well.

We deeply regret choosing this company that doesn't honor the warranty works and totally ignore us once the problem started. The cost of the pool was a little over $200,000 and we paid them on time every time they ask for the check, and now we are spending $65,000 so far to fix the problem they created since the pool was built. We wasted our money/time and would never build the pool with them for any future properties.

The good thing is that all the contractors we hired them to fix the issues are a very reliable and skilled contractor, and actually honor the warranty and get back to us within a timely business manner when we ask the questions and concerns for their works.

All we can do now is just control what we can control and it is wasting our time to deal with the company doesn't have any willingness to do a right thing as the contractor.

We will pursue a lawsuit against the company if the issues keep arising within their warranty terms, and make sure that your company will do a right thing.

Unfortunately, this is 2nd time we have to address the issue here since there is no response from the company for the same issue we have been having since the pool was built. (*we had to hire the attorney before.) Now we have found out that there is much bigger issue is going on that is causing the pavers and stairs around the pool was collapsing.

During the backfill process we were told that they would be doing a wash in and compaction because there was a significant amount of fill dirt behind the wall and under the stairs. This was not accomplished as the entire back full on the pool was done in less than 6 hours. The professional came out to see what the problem was said in order to accomplish it correctly that will take 3-4 days since there is 4-6 feet of fill and compaction that has to be accomplished. Furthermore, they are going to have to pull up about half of the decking to ensure it is completed correctly.

We clearly remember that it was so quick to do the refills and they did it only in 6 hours that should have been at least 2-3 days of works.

Now the area is causing the collapse all the way to the other side of the areas. Moreover, we are told that the materials that are used to build the stairs and pack the pavers are not even the correct materials. Like other customers say, we have already tried to reach Mr. Cameron Rhodes for the issues and there is no response.

When we addressed various issues through the attorney in 2023, the company basically blamed everything on the landscaping company since we also had a big flooding issue around the pool, but this issue has nothing to do with the landscaping, and it is how they did the back-fill, how they built the stair, how they installed pavers, and how they built the pool that is everything have to do is the pool company who built the pool.

Now we need to redo everything before everything collapse, which include break stairs and surrounding area pavers, do the backfill correctly, and rebuild the stairs with the correct materials, and redo all the pavers collapsing not only the problem areas but there is random other spots also collapsing.

Please don’t reply to this comment with the same template message the company has been replaying to the other negative reviews and please call us to discuss the issue we have been facing since the pool was built.

Lastly, the company name has changed since we built the pool and there is Southern Poolscapes AL, Southern Poolscapes Pensacola FL but it is operated under the same ownership.

We could not be more pleased with our new pool. Hunter and Cody were super responsive throughout the process and helped us design the right pool for our needs. They came in ahead of schedule and under budget. Highly recommend and will use them again!

It has always been a dream of ours to own a pool, but we had never taken the plunge - until now. Hunter’s team made the entire process incredibly easy and stress-free. Our project manager was always available to answer questions and kept us informed of any schedule changes along the way. We had hoped to be swimming by Memorial Day, and thanks to their hard work, we were! We’ve been absolutely thrilled with our new pool and excited for all the family memories we’ll create for years to come.

Hunter and Jeremy at Southern Poolscapes helped transform our backyard into an oasis for the AL summer heat. Great communication and dedication to make sure things were done right the first time and willing to make adjustments to fit our exact requirements. Excellent customer service. Took the time to show us locally completed pools in the area to help envision our own project and help put us at ease for the large financial and very permanent decisions we were making. Very impressed with the craftsmanship of the pool and spa. Will update review with final finished landscaping.

We love our pool designed and built by Southern Poolscapes! It is exactly what we wanted and the support from start to finish (and even after) has been phenomenal. In particular, Jamie has been incredible to work with. Can't recommend them enough!

Horrible company. Don’t be fooled by their new name. Same people that used to be Premier Pools. My pool was finished in March 2023. Our decking began collapsing around the skimmers less than a year after completion. They said 1 year warranty but this is obviously a workmanship issue. It’s dangerous and I need a new deck on a less than 3 year old pool. Do not make an incredibly expensive mistake and use this company.

December 2025 update:

**I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT THIS POOL WILL NOT STAND THE TEST OF TIME**

we are now over 250 days since we started our project. It has been a nightmare. Communication is extremely poor and every employee we have come in contact with is INCOMPETENT except the nice women who answer the phone at the office.

Almost everything on our project has been done 2-3 times over because they cannot do it correctly, including the lanai company Gulf Aluminum (would NOT recommend). The auto fill, the transformer for the pool lights and the chlorinator on our pump have already been having major issues.

These people have trashed my yard and ruined every holiday for my family for almost a year now.

We have had to manage the project as if we were employees in order to get as far as we have. We are near the end but most of it looks like a really good DIY project….which is incredibly unfortunate because we didn’t pay DIY money, we paid for a luxury custom PROFESSIONAL job.

I would not recommend this company.

**OCTOBER 2025 UPDATE**
It is now day 193 since we started digging. Gulf Coast Aluminum was contracted thru Southern Poolscapes to build the lanai. We were told by multiple people that this process would take less than a week once the material arrived on property. It’s been a full month. They had to start over from scratch because the first crew they sent out here did such a terrible job. They also destroyed some of our personal property while they were on the job. They sent another crew that had seemed to be working hard and being respectful, but they’ve been ghosting us for almost a week now. Luckily they did discover that a large portion of the project’s concrete footer was not concrete at all…it was just dirt with mortar smeared on top. I had told multiple SP employees I was concerned about the integrity of the footers for months and was dismissed.

The more time that passes, the more other things on the project are falling apart or getting damaged. This process has been a nightmare. We have had multiple on site meetings with project managers, team leads, and the owner of southern poolscapes. Promises are made. Deadlines are mentioned. Things seem like they might work out and that this project is going to be made a priority…and then there’s absolutely no follow thru or management. Quality of work turns to crap. People stop showing up.

If we are being made a priority, why has enough time has passed since I last updated this review to have built this entire project from start to finish?

We have to be one of the longest ongoing residential projects for this company. I don’t know why they won’t just finish the job. There have been no weather delays or supply shortages. The only issues we have had are inexperienced workers, poor quality craftsmanship, and no oversight.

**UPDATE**

It’s been a couple weeks and we still aren’t swimming. After I posted these reviews the owner of the company made a site visit and came up with “a laundry list” of things that needed to be corrected. I asked to see the list of items but was never shown. Unsettling to hear the owner of a luxury pool company thinks your project is riddled with issues…

Since then our plaster date was pushed back again, they’ve attempted to complete a simple stucco wall about 4 different times and don’t seem to be able to do it properly. Someone delivered a flat of travertine tile in front of our garage bay door so we had not been able to park in the garage for a week. And when they delivered the flat they blacked their truck into my house and it damaged the siding. I haven’t heard from the company about how they plan to rectify this.

AS IM WRITING THIS WE ARE ON DAY 134. The only delays we have had with this project have been the result of poor quality assurance and poor management within Southern Poolscapes.

This pool company is by far the best you’ll find! The whole team was amazing! They are all so helpful and communicate very well through out the whole process. The construction is exceptional quality and they finished right on time. Mike Ponce was an excellent introduction to the company and custom designed my pool to fit the small space. Jeremy’s on going support as my superintendent was phenomenal with constant communication on the building process. Highly recommend!!!

Excellent experience! From beginning to end our relationship was flawless. Attentive management and sales staff. High on information and low on pressure. All questions either anticipated or answered expertly. Finances of the job were clearly and accurately described. 4U Roofing staff were on the job site throughout the build.
