Part of me feels awful leaving this review, and part of me can't believe I've waited this long. We've been having issues with TDI all summer.

This issues started with a tech that didn't show up on an appointment day (I thought it was due to rain) where I called a few days later to find out they'd cancelled my entire account.

Most recently I had called because it had been over two weeks since our last spray and the weeds were only getting worse. I requested someone come back out. Never got a call or text to schedule, and when I followed up was told a tech had logged the house as sprayed this past Friday, which was impossible because the gate was locked. Our cameras confirmed this.

I asked that day to speak to a manager or owner to sort it out and get the yard fixed but haven't heard back. I followed up today and was assured someone would reach out to me by the end of the day, but that never happened either.

Yet each time they come I promptly get a call from someone trying to sell me additional services. Including one recently trying to convince me we needed liquid aeration, which is odd because a TDI employee a few times ago tried to tell me liquid aeration was a bad option. I just want my weeds gone! I'm not paying even more for pest control and aeration when they haven't done the most basic thing.

I have called TDI and spoken to someone who swore "we're sending the owner and manager a message and they'll call you back" for the last three business days. I will continue to await your call.

TDI has been struggling for a few years for us. We haven't had consistently nice grass in several years. Last year we had streaks of nice lush green grass almost obvious of where treatment had been placed. The only time we would have a nice result is when we would call and complain and they would come do a treatment.
This year we are overrun with weeds everywhere but the front yard. So it was obvious the rest of the yard (side and back) was not treated. We finally decided to cancel.

I began using TDI services shortly after building our home in August 2020. We were very happy with the services we received until our technicians were changed in early 2021. During a service in July 2021, I watched as the technician "Jaquez Johnson" only treated half of my backyard and did not complete the pest services we were paying for. I called TDI and spoke with the manager "Andrew Davis" about the technician not performing the services as specified in our bill, the manager apologized but defended the technician. Mr. Johnson was sent back out to my home to redo the application. I witnessed Mr. Johnson complete this application. Approximately 5-6 weeks after Mr. Johnson completed the follow-up application, my husband and I started to notice various areas throughout the front and backyard start to turn brown then eventually gray. It wasn't until we had a scheduled lawn mowing and trim that the company pointed out to us that the grass had been overfertilized. Our mowing company walked the property with us and pointed out areas throughout the front and backyard that had been overfertilized resulting in fertilizer burn. There are various patches, streaks of brown/gray, desiccated grass where fertilizer was used and caused damage. In September 2021, a call was placed to TDI to report the damage. The manager Andrew Davis came out to the property and inspected only the front lawn even though he was told the damage was in the backyard as well. Mr. Davis agreed that the front lawn had in-fact been overapplicated and if given the opportunity, TDI would do everything to repair the damage. We agree to allow TDI to continue to treat the damage to the front and backyard in hopes that the grass would grow back in. To-date, none of the damaged areas have grown back in. From January 2022 to now, we have spoken with the manager multiple times about replacement but they have yet to replace any of the burnt grass after stating it would be replaced if treatments did not work.

Rashad's is our technician and is very conscientious and timely and asks how his service was on our lawn. He does a good job and I appreciate the quality of service he provides us.

Our backyard has never looked so bad. My wife works from home and always knew when Jimmie was coming with the old TDI gentlemen. I did find out a couple of months ago this new guy wasn't even going in the back yard. So, apparently from the time Jimmie left thats why our grass looks as bad as it does. So sad.

I bought a house in June 2021 and the yard was probably a 50/50 mix of bermuda grass and weeds. I contacted Turf Doctor and they began servicing my lawn around August since they gave me the best rate out of many local companies. The grass was looking good until Spring time rolled around the next year. When all of the neighbor's grass started to grow and become green again, mine was beginning to look more empty and dead every week. The only thing that seemed to be growing was weeds. I had grass in some areas begin to turn green (not like that of my neighbors though) but it would not spread across the yard. I contacted TDI and they sent a technician out to supposedly spray again. From here on, it is more of the same, weeds growing, grass not. Now I am trying to sell my house (due to changing jobs) yet I am stuck with a yard full of bare patches and weeds.

I have included some pictures of my yard before I mowed showing bare spots, dead grass, and growing weeds. In my first picture you can see the line between where my neighbor's yard ends and mine begins(their yard went untreated by a lawn company...) and the difference can't be more obvious. Avoid this company unless you want a dead yard.

Coming up to our one year mark with TDI. Yard is looking better and better! More importantly, TDI and our yard specialist does a great job of communicating with us ahead of time so we can ensure the dogs are inside and the yard is ready for treatment!

Update: The grass at my home was brown and crunchy (dead) following treatment. TDI helped the situation by correcting a mechanical issue with their spreader and performing a core aeration. I'm seeing some green as recovery proceeds. I plan to post updated photos next week.

Update to first post: TDI finally sent a different person (Asher) out to assess my weed problem. Asher was very friendly and polite, knowledgeable, correctly identifed my weed problem, and then set about doing a highly detailed and thorough treatment. I would give Asher a 5-star, but it will take a week or two to see if this actually fixed the problem to bring my yard back up to standard.

I've been using TDI for close to 8-10 years and something has changed. My yard is full of weeds. There are about 50 homes in my subdivision being serviced by at least five different lawn treatment companies and my yard is literally the only one in the entire neighborhood full of weeds. Every other yard looks great. This is embarrasing and unnacceptable.

I have been using TDI for over a year and my lawn has not improved. As a matter of fact, it looks worse. I will not renew my contract after it expires.

Update 6/23/2025: Thanks for your recommendations, however, this is the first time I heard of this recommendation from anyone on your team. The reasoning for this is apparent to me now, because your company does not offer the recommended services (I.e tree trimming, sodding).

We’ve been using TDI for our lawn care for several years. Our lawn was a mess before, but Orion at TDI has been very diligent and helpful to answer all of our questions and meet the needs of our lawn. Orion is very professional and responsive! I completed an online request for more information about TDI lawncare services thinking it was a "local" company. I started receiving calls from a call center within a few hours and they continue to come for months despite my having asked them repeatedly to stop calling. I decided to go with another local provider after the experience with TDI and I now realize the "local" company was sold to a national business that aggressively calls and solicits even after you tell them to place you on a no call list. Do not communicate with TDI unless you want to receive sales calls by telephone at all hours of the day. They are relentless, even months later. No idea why TDI thinks this strategy is effective.

I had the privilege to work with Nick so far. He went out of his way to make sure I had the competitive pricing with a comprehensive service package. Per his promise I had yard treatment that afternoon. Had to leverage him because it rained the week before. And the yard need treatment ASAP. I told Nick, TDI had till end of the year to make a beautiful yard. Keep you all posted. Amazing service and pricing so far.

We have been using TDI for over three and a half years. They always let us know when they are going to spray our yard which is great since we have outside pets. Our technician is always friendly and ready to ask if we have any questions or problem areas that need attention. We have been very pleased with their service.

I have been very pleased with the service I've received from TDI. I've used them for two years. I've had zero issues with weeds or bugs/insects. Even better, TDI doesn't enter your home to spray for bugs. This makes it safer if you have pets and convenient because you don't have to be home.

The person that services my yard is fantastic! He even picks up or moves the dog toys in the yard and I appreciate that so much. I don’t always know the exact day he will come and don’t pick up the dogs toys in the yard every night. They always take such good care of my yard. I added the mosquito service last summer and it made a HUGE difference. 100% recommend TDI!

I wish could receive a text when they are coming to a service.
