Very nice people

Really nice people! However, they are extremely slow to unload trucks. We have been at the dock for over 2 hours unloading something that should have only taken 30 minutes to unload. As a driver we get paid by the mile. Sitting at a dock like this costs us so much money. Not only are we not getting paid but our clock is running down for the day.

We contacted Star Electric at 12:30pm, Derek was so pleasant over the phone, asking when did we need the problem looked at, we said today if possible, he ask if 3-3:30 worked for us, Derek was on time and even nicer in person- accessed the issue left to pick up the component returned fixed the job and finished before 5pm. Very professional. We will definitely use Derek at Star Electric for any electrical need or any other additional work in his field we may require, We confidently reccomend him to anyone needing an honest electrician with reasonable competitive rates. Derek knows what he is doing and does a Great job along with River his son. Then they like to talk like me so that is something else I like about him. Never met Jill, but she is Very helpful & nice on phone. I now have power and lights!

I most highly recommend Derek & Star Electric for all your electrical needs. Very responsive, focused on the job at hand, and perhaps most importantly, gets it done right the first time with no him-hawing around, just focused attention and superior quality service and results delivered. Quality you can count on! Do be aware that electricians are quite skilled, most handymen wont' tackle electrical work (nor should they). Thus, electricians tend to be expensive. Better than me trying to do the work.

Service didn’t go as planned. Not their fault. When they were unable to proceed they were both up front and honest. They also went to get more information rather than try something halfway. I appreciated the transparency and the thought that went into their work. Would definitely recommend them in the future.

Second time using this company, thankful for a great experience both times. They are super friendly, their rates are reasonable and they were able to fit me in right away both times.

I cannot express enough how very much we appreciate Derek getting right over on a Sunday evening. A tree incident had taken down electric service to our home. With my wife's health concerns, we were unable to relocate and wait for repairs. Derek made it happen and got us up and going within an hour. His teamwork with the Alabama Power lineman and his can do attitude ensured we were fixed and right. Star Electric is now our electric go to.

I had a cable and electrical box moved from one wall to the adjacent wall and the amount charged was 300.00 more than quoted when I called and described exactly what was needed. Not good to pay that much more than expected. The guy did a decent job but his quote for the service was way off. Feel like I was taken advantage of

We had an emergency and needed someone to replace our electrical panel after 4 pm when most people are about to go home for the day. Not only did he show up within 20 minutes of us calling him. He took his time to explain everything thoroughly and left for a few hours to gather the parts he would need for the repair. He returned a couple of hours later and worked on my panel until almost midnight! Derek was very professional. He certainly went above and beyond for me and my family. I would recommend him to anyone!

I was referred by a trusted friend who helped my wife and I close on our dream home. Well we wanted can lights installed under our cabinets. We asked the builder for his electrician and immediately our realtor said I have the perfect guy, great work, good quality….so we called him. Derek Potter is his name, he told us the cost and bc of the travel time was charging and additional $120 for the ride….we understood and said no problem, he mentioned after church he and his son would ride out….I get a call on Sunday from Derek recanting on all that he promised, complaining the ride was to long, it was an hour from where he was, it will be 2 hours out of his day. I’m sorry, when you quoted the price of $120 for your ride time wasn’t that considered. 2 star for the effort, everything happens for a reason work was probably subpar at best…..oh yea also claiming how they do quality work while bashing other companies, that’s a red flag anyway. Thank you Derek for saving us a headache

We bought our house two years ago with major electrical work needed and have gone through FIVE different electricians. Derek is by far the most proficient and helpful one we've had and we will be using him for all of our future projects. Affordable pricing and extremely professional. Could not be happier with the results of his work!
Bonus points for him killing a very angry venomous snake whilst working on our fountain, that alone was worth the price of his visit.

Derek is a brilliant electrician! He installed an antique ceiling fixture working around a messy situation in the attic left by previous electricians. He also replaced our very old fuse box with a new breaker panel. He also replaced a wall switch and wall light fixture on our back porch. Derek is an excellent problem solver, he is a fast worker, and he respects your time by calling ahead to let you know if he has been delayed. He is also a very nice person. I highly recommend him!

We "re-did" our master bathroom and one component was replacing the lighting fixtures. I wanted the new fixtures installed correctly, and had employed Star Electric 7 years ago with a kitchen "re-do" which they handled extremely well. So I found them on-line, called, and Derek came out the next morning and did the bathroom light installation in about an hour and all works great. Speedy, courteous and highly efficient service at a very reasonable cost.

We initially contacted Star Electric to request a quote for electrical work in a bathroom that we needed a complete renovation in. During the phone call, we were told they actually do all of the work needed, not just electrical. They came to our home the same day and gave us a quote. Work was started the same week. We are very pleased with the end result. The team was all very knowledgeable and adjusted to our scheduled. So glad we made that initial call!
