Constraction reviews in Anchorage, Alaska

After taking a fall in my family room, Ed Pico of Alas-Co was kind enough to do a fabulous repair of the hole in my drywall. After repairing the drywall he also textured and painted the wall during his three day weekend off work. After the paint dried, you can not even tell that the large hole was in my wall next to the fireplace. I have been meaning to write this review for awhile and let Alas-Co know what a great job Ed did to help me out. Plus he would not let me pay him which even showed me more class from a first rate worker and neighbor. Thank you Ed for doing a nice job!

In essence, I sat on the wait list for 6 months to have some insulation work done. The property was inspected in May, twice. Once by Brandon, and once with Brandon and a supervisor to see what needed to be done. I know as well as anyone that we needed to do some demo work to gain access because we were taking pictures through a transfer grill (a balancing vent above a door). After 3 additional months, multiple e mails and phone calls, I finally got a response from the receptionist today. She was passing along a message that the area is too small and we need to cut access in the sheetrock ... And, you need to hire a general contractor, this is beyond the scope of Alas-Co.

Clearly reading other reviews, Alas-Co is involved in repairs and work where this would clearly be within "scope" of the company. So here we are, coming up on 10 months after my initial call, re-starting the entire process because they can't be bothered to communicate that they don't want the work.

Hopefully this review helps others not pick this company.

Have a small cabin with tight space to work, the crew was like, we got this. Absolutely the most positive work crew I have met in years.

I had a great experience working with Aurora Flooring in Anchorage, and a big part of that was thanks to Frida in sales . She was extremely responsive, easy to work with, and stayed on top of everything from start to finish.

What really stood out was her follow-through. She researched and found the product I needed and called me back.When there was an issue with my order, Frida didn’t let it sit—she called me back promptly, took ownership of the situation, and made sure it was handled quickly . That kind of customer service is hard to find and makes a huge difference.

Great company with no empty promises! Zack measured the flooring quickly, taking less than 10 minutes, and Tyler did a fantastic job installing the new flooring. He worked very carefully and kept everything tidy. I’m really happy with how it turned out!

I had Aurora replace flooring in The Alaska Building, it’s old, funky and has complicated challenges. They are skilled professionals in both craftsmanship and customer service.
Zaak and his crew did a beautiful job making the 100+ year old building look new and tidy.
I have high standards and they 💯 met them.
Super friendly and worked easily to meet the needs of many tenants doing both day and night work to complete the job quickly and efficiently.

The absolute best experience I have ever had with remodeling ever legit from start to finish!!!
The entire experience was incredible from the moment I opened the door at Aurora. I was greeted immediately by Devin and he was extremely interested in talking to me and was extremely understanding and respectful of what I needed, the time frame and the understanding of having three kids and a dog and cat and we chose flooring that would be perfect. Devin and His Boss (I can’t remember her name (she was wonderful too) ) not only brought samples but came to my house same day for an estimate and not just same day but almost immediately!! We went over my house top to bottom they were thorough and precise and we decided a different type of Laminate was a better choice and needed to be ordered I chose the color and that was that . They told me about two weeks to get it in and it was right on the money. Originally the start date was 4/20 but they called me the Friday before told me the crew would be delayed a couple days which was no problem. I really appreciate their honesty from the get go! April 23rd the most reliable respectful, honest, experienced contractor I have ever had the pleasure of having work on my home shows up and gets after it and I mean BUSTS ASS
Alex is a beast I mean a work horse and so incredibly talented and a perfectionist with out the ego and cockiness that usually comes with that level of perfectionist,
He was honest about anything that would be a delay or any issues that came about in the installation!!
We had two helpers on and off both were respectful
And Thorough and Alex treated them with nothing but kindness and patience and respect.

This is my 4th project with Aurora Flooring. The project manager Jomell made the planning and coordination seamless. Helped us select the perfect option for our stairs. Our vision came to fruition. I appreciate the top tier customer service and professionalism. They got my project handled in a timely manner. The installer Dennis was amazing. He was very courteous, punctual and detailed.
