Very impressed with their service. We needed a quick tutorial on our Hunter irrigation timing panel. They were able to come out earlier than the original appointment- they communicated the appointment really easily. They explained the panel and also found two leaks and repaired them inside the one hour minimum charge. We will definitely call them again when the need arises.

Wow! Amazing! I should started their service years ago! My first day of service, truck #10 started me off with the best experience. They went above and beyond my expectations! I am hooked! What use to waste my weekend cleaning leaves and trimming is done in no time. Weekends are more about fun now.
Thank you Little John’s and especially #10 crew!
In my mind, I started this as a 3 month trial. My lawn and landscape look the best they have ever look. Extra appreciation to Jose and crew. -
Little John's did a great job cleaning up our yard in preparation for the pre-emergent application. They accommodated our schedule, answered our many questions, and left our yard spotless. We recommend them.

Do NOT use Little John's unless you just want a quick hack job and don't care what your plants and shrubs look like.
We'd hired them a couple years ago for their biweekly yard maintenance. They did a fine job mowing and edging our lawn, but week after week, we had no idea what shape they'd leave our shrubs and trees in.
It finally came to a head last week. We had three beautiful shrubs along our driveway that were 4' tall, were covered in healthy green leaves, and frequently blossomed with small purple flowers.
A few weeks ago, the crew decided to lop off the top foot of the shrubs. I suppose they were hoping the branches would grow back stronger and healthier, even though there was no problem with them in the first place.
Well, that didn't happen. The branches did not grow back and the hack job only exposed some bare spots that had been previously covered by leaves.
A few weeks later, it seems they realized their mistake and tried to rectify it by doing the worst thing possible. They lopped off the rest of the shrubs, leaving just a couple inches of bare sticks above the ground. See the first picture below.
These are slow-growing shrubs and it's going to take years for them to grow back. In the meantime, we have to look at this eyesore every day. To make matters worse, this happened just days after my wife bought Christmas net lights to hang in the shrubs. Needless to say, she's heartbroken.
Sadly, this isn't the first time they've maimed our plants. We have a neighbor whose lemon tree extends into our yard. We used to get literally hundreds of big juicy lemons every year, but several months ago, without asking, Little John's hacked the branches so far back that we'll be lucky if we get even a dozen lemons this year.
What's worse, Little John's crews are clueless when it comes to pruning trees. Everyone know you don't cut branches halfway along their length, as shown in the second photo below. It's ugly and it damages the tree.
You're supposed to prune the branch back just short of the collar where it extends off from the previous branch. This looks much more attractive and gives the tree a chance to heal over the cut.
Finally, Little John's ruined our bougainvillea, pruning it back more and more until they finally exposed a huge bare area. See the third below. This happened several months ago and the plant still hasn't filled in.
I think it's outrageous that Little John's crews take such drastic actions without asking permission or even discussing it with the customer. They do provide a way to leave notes for the crews, but we found that the crews regularly ignore them, pruning our Mediterranean palms even after we specifically told them not to.
We should have cancelled our biweekly service after the first hack job, but I assumed they knew what they were doing. As these photos make clear, they do not.
UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO OWNER'S REPLY BELOW: The plants that got cut to the ground were not bougainvilleas. They had small purple flowers and no thorns. Does your crew not know what they're cutting? -
We have a been a customer for years and I wanted to take the time to provide another review after a recent incident at our property. One of their technicians made a mistake while maintaining our property last year (mistakes happen) and John and his staff made sure to make it right at the time. Unfortunately the situation came up again with their repair failing recently and John and his staff made it right once again. There have been a few incidents over the years but John and his staff have always gone out of their way to make sure we are taken care of and that’s something we will always be grateful for and what keeps us doing business with them. You won’t find a better or more understanding owner who truly cares about his customers. I want to thank John and his team for always having the right goal of taking care of the customer. I will continue to recommend Little John’s Lawns to everyone I know and will be a customer for life. Thank you again John!

Used them to check out my irrigation system. They were quick, knowledgeable and a great price.
-
So glad I found them! The guys did an amazing job and were so fast. Will definitely be calling them again when needed.

I was very hopeful but sadly this company believes that a well taken care of yard does not deserve their time but is still willing to charge full price. They were there for 10 minutes and took some pictures and left. When asked about it they said the yard looked great so there was nothing to do. To confirm you never entered the back yard so your response suggesting you did is inaccurate. I would guess by the photos you are not seeing the weeds or feel that any of the plants could use trimming. If you decide not to work then don't charge for your service.

Little John Lawns is very professional. We have bi weekly lawn service and use their irrigation service also. Their communication is top notch and if I need to call, they are very helpful in answering my questions. The cost is fair and competitive with others we have used in the past. We have been a client for about 1 1/2 years. I recommend them highly!

Be warned, the few bad reviews you are reading are every bit true!
In Summer 2017, we selected Little John’s for landscaping service after careful research and ratings reviews. We were initially pleased with the overall service. A couple months go by and we notice the 1st issue with our front grass in what appeared to be an uneven cut with circular patterns throughout.
We shared our feedback with Little John’s and the initial response was that we did not have an issue due to faster growing grass resulting in some discoloration. After additional messages (including pictures) Little John’s responded the issue was “the new lawnmower we have wasn’t adjusted correctly.” Since winter was soon upon us, my husband took over care of the front grass since we just invested in all new sod less than a year prior.
Fast forward to late May 2018, when a repeat of the grass circles occurred. I quickly escalated the 2nd complaint, recommending Little John’s needed to perhaps again adjust blades and notes were apparently added to our account. Just 1 week later, we came home to find **Large Brown Circles** in the yard and our 3rd complaint.
I begged privately in an email for help and even requested a resolution be found as we wanted to continue using Little John’s. I was told John himself had all of the information, was in the field, and would be in touch shortly. Two full business days and a total of four days later and we do not have a response to the 3rd repeat complaint.
Needless to say, we are highly dissatisfied and you may draw your own conclusions about pictures of our lawn as you consider using Little John’s. -
I am so pleased with the work done by this company. Regular yard service also includes weed control and irrigation tuneups. They are consistent, arrive timely and the crews have always been super polite. They take photos before and after. What used to take me about six hours altogether takes them less than one hour. A real bargain!

Great experience from start to finish. Booking the appointment was effortless with all questions answered clearly and completely, the service technician arrived on schedule, was communicative and helpful, service was completed as agreed. I hope to not have any issues with the irrigation system going forward but if I do, I'll be using Little John's Lawn again without hesitation.

I hired this company to replace my irrigation system. They also removed dead trees and bushes. Replaced them all and added more gravel. I was so happy with the job. I decided to go with their monthly maintenance. Very pleased. I would highly recommend this company. They have integrity, knowledge and excellent customer service.

Great experience! Little Johns team came on time, listened to what I needed and left my yard looking better than it has in months. Instead of dreading seeing my yard and thinking of all the things I have a hard time doing, I can enjoy my nice , clean landscape. Thank you Little John's Lawns!

We are very pleased with Little John’s Lawn Care. We have been using Little John’s for lawn maintenance for about a year. They have done a great job. Always on time and do a great job. They have been putting down pre-emergents on our yard and we just started our second year with that. That has made a HUGE difference! We had out of control weeds and after the first treatment, that is not a problem. We have gotten additional rock when they run specials. I love Little John’s! They have made a huge difference for us.

I was disappointed with the service we got. They didn’t give me any heads up when the tech would arrive besides a day. I called to ask and was told he should be there in 15 minutes. I told them that it was a rental and I’d need some notice in order to meet the tech. He was waiting when I arrived, at a few minutes past noon. I asked him for an estimate on replacing 4 sprinkler valves. I had already spoken with someone at their office about what was needed to be done. The tech told me he only had 2 valves on his truck and he’d have to leave by 2:30 to get back to their office by 3pm.I assumed he’d finish the next day. I came by the rental house later that night to see the progress. All 4 valves were installed. Great… but one of the valves was leaking quite a bit. Must have been for at least 4 hours at this point I had to shut off the water. I called the next morning about getting that fixed. I had asked about another repair but by this time I didn’t have confidence that it would he handled smoothly and did the repair myself.

I needed lawn service on newly purchased home and was on a short window of time as I was traveling for business and the Little John team led by Nathan came out within 1 day to assess my property. Their lawn maintenance crew was out the next day and did amazing job getting my yard back to manageable in one visit as part of their clean up service. I also had an irrigation manager come evaluate my sprinklers and drip lines to ensure proper watering was taking place. Still a little ways to go, but if looking for a company that is serious, efficient, and cares about lawn give them a call.

I feel like I was overcharged for a sprinkler valve replacement. Ended up having to pay for a backflow valve as well. But still being charged almost $900 for what could have been done myself for less than $200 does not feel too good. I will not be referring little johns lawns to anyone else even if they offer $50 for referrals.

We needed the poly tubes in our backyard replaced. It had been in use for more than 13 years and started to leak in many places. My wife didnt want me to do the work, so she hired Little John's lawn to replace the poly lines with PVC and ensure the runs to the plants are correct. Since the work was completed they have been out to our house twice to fix the fact that the water from the new system is barely running on many of the emitters. What it appears is that the main PVC lines weren't flushed before they added the emitters and they are clogged. Twice they have come out, and twice the issue is not resolved. The last time they came out, the Warranty guy tried to convince me that the amount of plants that are being watered is the reason why some of the emitter show good flow and others do not (Its a big yard). The problem is that when I had the poly tubes, there were no problems with watering the plants. There are three zones: shrubs, trees and citrus. So not everything is watered at the same time. Since 2024, we have lost a good size Orange tree due to poor watering and now we are losing 4 Lantanas. Now, I either have to dig up the line to flush the system or hire someone else to do it. They seem to not be able to get the basics done. I would not recommend them at all.

We have hired Little John's Lawns for a few projects now. The sprinkler service and setting the timer on the box has been wonderful. As far as other work they have been great to show up but I don't know if all the workers have the knowledge to do a quality job for the task at hand. They came back twice to fix a job poorly done but it is just as bad as the first time. Great for effort unfortunately when I am paying $1000 or over and it is a fail I will not give them anymore of my business.

SCAM. Bait & Switch company. Tell you one price and then bill you for another. Agree to specific services and they never provide, when questioned about it they just say “well put notes in the file”. Then they want to try charging extra for it. I’ve never gotten the service I paid for. Don’t bother with this company.
