A chlorine and an acid bath:
Have been a customer of theirs for several years. Bruce, and all of his team have never disappointed. Always willing to go the extra mile and have always had the solution to any problems I throw their way. Have been in the valley for 40 years. Mesa for 30 of those years and have delt with multiple pool services companies. Wouldn't let anyone else touch my pool

I'm writing this review to describe my experiences.

I recently moved into my home and this was the first pool I owned. Since I was uneducated on pool maintenance, I hired a pool professional to make sure that my pool was always balanced. I ended up cancelling our service with Davis Pools because I wanted to save more money.

The first week I checked my levels, my chlorine and cyanuric acid were way over the recommended level. I called the main office to ask why my levels were so high since they were managing the chemical balance. The conversation that I had with the manager resulted in her hanging up on me. I was told that they don't check cyanuric acid levels and later I found out that my chlorine levels were so high that they were ineffective at that point.

After some research, I learned that I was going to have to drain my pool to get my cyanuric acid levels back to an acceptable range. I figured out what I needed to do and ended up doing it myself. I still have no idea why a company wouldn't periodically test for a chemical that my home test kit measures. With my chlorine levels through the roof, why was something never done?

In the end, I would highly recommend all pool owners to learn how to maintain and balance their own pool.

Company was very good three years ago but seemed to lose what had gotten them work 3 years ago. Just adding chlorine tablets is not a pool cleaning service but you used to be great. Hope you get that back. Good luck

Davis Pool is friendly, prompt, knowledgeable, pricing reasonable. We have needed service four times and have been completely satisfied every time. Heath is especially knowledgeable when it comes to fixing pool problems.

This service used to be pretty good years ago, and because of that gave them the benefit of the doubt the past 2 years, but service had progressively gotten worse which is why I unfortunately decided to cancel for good.

The owner's son is the most reckless of all the employees that had come to service the pool. I don't know if he was high or just lazy?. My issues:
-Never brushed down the entire pool
-Rarely emptied any of the leaf canisters
    -Over-chlorinated and over-clarified the pool
-Charged me for chemicals after using the ones I provided
-Had left the pump basket lid loose with the filter running and water spraying all over the place. The pump had run for half a day and flooded my entire yard, and racked up my water bill
-Had broken the filter components multiple times which required them to come back and do costly repairs
-Had left the electrical junction box wide open to the elements on multiple occasions and one time it was exposed to monsoon rains
-Would sometimes skip a week of service without notice

I was afraid to leave and trust them to manage my pool while I was gone just because there was no telling what I would come home to find, so had to hire friends to check on it while away.

A few of my friends also use the service and they've experienced the same frustrations. Get it together Davis Pools!

In the past, I've had good experiences with Davis Pools except for last week. My 2 star rating is based solely from this one service. I have a full size pool heater for my 3300 gallon spool that would not start. I was fairly certain it was the capacitor again that needed replacing as in the past. When I initially called Davis Pools, I tried to give Karen (who answers their calls) my Hayward model # so their responding employee would have the part with him. She told me there was no need since their employees carry capacitors on their truck. When their employee arrived, it took him less than 10 minutes to confirm the capacitor needed replacing as I thought. The only thing, he didn't have one on his truck! He stated he had to go back to Mesa from my home in Chandler to buy the part, but I did not have to be there. This serviceman was very professional and courteous as has all of their service employees in the past. The problem was when I received the bill, the labor I was being charged was $100! I called Karen at Davis Pools, who told me I was being charged that much because their employee had to go back to Mesa to buy the part and "I lived way down there in Chandler." Karen of course denied that I tried to initially give her my heater model # so their employee would have the part with him. Davis Pools repair service is very good when it comes to the repairs, but their customer service and pricing needs improvement.

BUYER BEWARE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

They tech came to my house multiple times and did nothing but take pictures of my pool. When I called to complain I was assured that it would be brought to management and that I would be contacted. I waited 5 days from the incident and called again as I had not heard anything. When I called I was rudely greeted by "Karen" who truly was a "Karen" in this situation. She told me that "Stephen" (our tech) was their best tech and that they have never had a complaint on him. Me and my wife both watched the tech walk into our yard because we were already suspicious because of this happening before. I was going to go outside and ask him a question about the pool service and he was gone and I had received the photos of. my pool before I could even make it outside to speak with him. When I called "Karen" told me that what I was saying was not true and that he was here for 24 minutes. This is absolutely not true as I was there, watching and my wife was as well. This is unacceptable service and customer service and I would NOT trust these people with my pool. Our pools cost a lot of money and we can not trust unprofessional care takers with no customer service.

ps. It is almost hard to catch the dirtiness and unkemptness of our pool because it is a beautiful , expensive pool . Karens argument and reasoning was that she was looking at photos of my pool and it was "clean" which is pretty easy to catch photos of from and angle and look clean. Neither here nor there, we need and have paid for our chemicals to be tested, pool swept and cleaned, and much more. None of which were we receiving. Will be filing for fraud on my credit card as well because thank God we have cameras and I will use the photographic evidence to have these charges reversed as we did not receive the services that we paid for.

    AGAIN, USER BE WARE!!!!

I recently had a problem with my pool equipment not working well enough to get the pool clean. When I turned the pump on my pool water became murkier and it seemed to be getting worse. I had vacuumed the pool and there seemed to be no suction. Admittedly I am not well-versed in taking care of a pool at all as my father had always done so prior to passing away recently.

I called Davis Pools and the woman that answered the phone said we should start with scheduling a cleaning. When the technician came out, I let him know that I thought the pool needed to be backwashed but I wasn't sure how to do it. The tech turned the pump on (remember that I had determined that it caused the pool to become murkier and was not working well) and put chemicals in the pool (which I had already done) and that was the extent of the "cleaning." He must have been there a whole 15 minutes and left without knocking, updating me on the situation or asking for payment. He did not backwash the pool or do anything that I had not already done.

I got a bill in the mail about a week later and called to let them know I was unhappy. As she talked over me, I asked the woman to let me explain why I didn't feel that they had performed enough of a service to justify the bill. She proceeded to argue with me and insist that her technician never had complaints and that he said my pool was a mess. Isn't that why I hired them, to help me get it cleaned up? At the end of the conversation, the woman was obviously incensed with me and not going to see justification in anything that I said but she did say that she would reverse the bill.

Lo and behold! Here we are a month later and I get a statement for that very same bill in the mail! I work for a company that performs service and if we have an unhappy customer, we do not hesitate to work with them and/or refund their money. This company did not seem to care that they had an unhappy customer who felt like they had been charged too much for services that were not performed well. Their customer service representative/scheduler or whoever it was that answered the phone both times I called, was argumentative and rude and could have cared less.

Since I based my decision to use Davis Pools on their high customer ratings, I wanted to weigh in on those ratings. I would NOT recommend Davis Pools. Services performed were very poor and they did not help me resolve my problems at all. They did not reverse my bill the way she agreed to and they did not offer to come back out and see if they could help me further.

Called to receive a quote for a pool and pump cleaning and was immediately turned off by the woman on the other side of the phone. She stated "I really don't know what you mean by a pump cleaning". Are you not a pool service company? I immediately was turned off and found another company that was actually able to assist me and knew what I was trying explain. Your services could be great but the customer service was terrible from the start. I understand people have bad days but there was no need for a bucket of attitude. 1 Star

They have been cleaning my pool every month. They are very good for over a year now I've had nothing but great experiences with Davis pools. Heath Davis was very helpful and informative about repair options for our sand filter. He recommended that we replace with a cartridge filter system and was able to install the same day. This was very convenient for us as our sand filter had some severe leaks and we needed fast action as we were not interested in letting our pump sit idle. Of course this was during the summer and we all know how quickly a pool can turn in AZ. Thanks Davis Pool for your prompt and helpful service.

Heath from Davis Pool Service & Repairs replaced our defective spa light with a much better one. He made a special effort to bring and install the new spa light the very next day, since we had already emptied our spa and he wanted to make sure we could fill it up with water soon to avoid sun damage to our pebble-tec coating. That was very kind of him! He also provided very helpful information on a variety of questions we had about our spa equipment and offered to return whenever we need his excellent service. We were very impressed with both his expertise and his kindness/friendliness. We very highly recommend Heath and Davis Pool Service & Repairs!!!

Very satisfied with Davis Pool Service. I’ve enjoyed their services in the past and tried to save money this year maintaining our pool myself. It was not as easy as I thought it would be. I needed to reach out to Davis Pools with my tail between my legs. Heath was able to come out and get my pool back up to par in a timely manner. Very happy with their efficient work and communication. I did not save money, I won’t be making that mistake again.

They started out being very nice and helpful. The first employee who came to maintain our pool was punctual and actually DID HIS JOB. He scrubbed the pool, made sure our filter and vacuum were functioning properly, checked the chemical levels, skimmed the surface, emptied the baskets, and was very pleasant. Unfortunately, he was "fired" by Davis and then our problems began. The new employee never did what he was supposed to do. Never once did we see that he had scrubbed the pool. One day, he left a note that it needed a backwash but didn't have the supplies with him and he would do it next week (by this time, our vacuum has stopped working and the pool was beginning to turn green.) My elderly mother who lives with me called Davis and they were extremely rude to her, "... we can't come out EVERY day. "
Next, he came to backwash and brought someone with him. He spent the whole time playing on his phone while the other man did all the work. Then they left an open bag of DE in the yard and my dogs got into it (thankfully DE isn't toxic.)
This last week, I called them to tell them the guy did NOT brush the pool, the vacuum STILL isn't working and the pool is a mess. They essentially called me a liar. The pics are from later that SAME afternoon. There is ALGAE in my pool and scum ABOVE the waterline, indicating he NEVER BRUSHED THE POOL! I'm tired of perpetually arguing with the rude office staff. I'm not paying you over $100 a month to be verbally abused, called a liar and lied to. I DO NOT recommend and I might just contact the BBB...

I recently had Davis Pool Service do service on what was becoming a murky swamp. They came, did exactly as they were supposed to, and did a fantastic job. I would highly recommended them to friends and neighbors with Pools. After this first interaction with Davis, I am considering hiring them for weekly services next pool season. Thanks!
