It took us a while to find a someone to come and service our pool, I called a few other companies, left messages, even Scheduled an appointment but no one ever showed up. Our pool was in horrible condition we had just purchased the home 3 months prior and the previous owner never took care of the equipment. They would only shock the pool so it would appear to be clean. Once we got a hold of protege they promptly returned our call and a day and a half later they came. They did a full inspection of the entire system, they showed us exactly what was wrong. Thier prices we're beyond reasonable. We have since referred a couple of of closest friends to them, because we know protege will meet all of thier pool needs. The pool went from looking like a swamp to a blue lagoon.

I paid for a months worth of service where a technician shows up 1 time per week. The technician showed up 2 times. I would message repeatedly about the technician not showing up. The company would reschedule the appointment for a different day and the technician would still not show up. I asked for a refund for half the month. I was told I would receive a refund on June 27th. It is now July 16th and still have not received a refund.
My pool was pressure washed by this company. I have kept my pool clear however after the pressure washing, the sides of the pool have become very difficult to brush. The surface has become rough and porous to where I can’t get the algae out of it even after brushing the sides for an hour everyday. My pool is clear, but algae is imbedded in the pores of the pool wall surface. I have never had this issue before. I am worried that the pressure washer removed a layer off of the surface. Every time I brush there is a white powdery substance consistently coming off.
There is also a small leak that I noticed on the new filter they installed.
I messaged Protege Pool Services repeatedly about the issues I am having. Eventually I was able to make an appointment for today at 9 am. No one showed up for the appointment. I attempted to contact the technician, but the technician hasn’t replied.
I would like a refund for the times that the technician did not show. Either that or provide the services I paid for. I would also like them to make good on setting an appointment and actually show up for it so I can discuss remedying these unresolved issues.
The picture provided is a picture of the algae in the surface of the wall after scrubbing the walls an hour a day for a week.
Hopefully leaving a review will cause the company to actually contact me and actually show up for an appointment to resolve the issues.

The service from Protege Pool is great, They are true professionals. They have been honest about the services needed to keep our pool crystal clear and ready for use year round. My family and I would highly recommend Protege to all friends and family members.

I have been using with this company now for well over a year now. They are fantastic to have. They are incredible with my son who is always interested in what Hugo does. Hugo does an incredible job cleaning the pool. Overall amazing company I would recomend to anyone looking for a pool company. Incredible with pets as well.

I will start by saying I am not a fraudulent customer and our community has been using Protege for approx. 3 years.
Since last year we have had a slew of ongoing issues related to their service that has only gotten worse. Unfortunately, we had to switch to a different service provider because of Protege's lack of professionalism and responsibility for the work they do.
We paid Protege to replace our pool line tiles which began falling off again only 7 months after they did the job. That was September 2018 and even though they said they guarantee their work, the tiles are still not repaired and are now missing entirely from our property. They said on 5+ occasions that the tiles would be fixed, but now no longer answer my emails.
Besides that, our chemical log sheet was taken by them and not returned even after requesting it back on many occasions.
Protege requires payment for their service before they are rendered and even though we paid them to come out 3x/wk, there were many occasions that they did not show up. For this, any many other reasons, I feel compelled to leave this review so that consumers are aware of how this company treats their customers. I have proof of all these claims.

UPDATE: the owner's have addressed our concerns, and have guaranteed they will do better to clean the pool weekly. They explained that they were going through a rough patch while training new techs, etc. Our price is reasonable, and they do a good job cleaning the pool.
we're been customers for 5 years, and they recently increased our rate by $10/month. leading up to this increase the pool service was great, up until the last year and a half, where pool cleanings were often missed weeks at a time. One occasion a full month passed before we heard back from someone about cleaning our pool. They NEVER answer their phone and will only text you back. Not sure if any other longtime customers have also ran into this issue?

Heck Ya! We finally found a pool person that shows up and does the job right. Being an Arizonan for over 38 years we have been looking for a reliable good service. We found them. A huge thanks to u guys. I won't use anyone else.

Hugo is so amazing. I met him inside Leslie’s pool Supplies and he heard my frustration of being a new pool owner and stepped in with advise. Offered to come over take a look. Our experience with him has been nothing shy of Amazing. It’s been a breath of fresh air especially since we have been taken advantage of by other pool companies this last year being “new to the pool world”. Hugo is hands down a man of his word and we need more people like him in the world. God bless you Hugo, your family and business… we are defiantly a customer for life…

This is THE BEST POOL COMPANY you are ever going to find, believe me I tried more than a couple. They are reliable and they do what they say the are going to do. ( Can you believe that?, it is possible) I finally found a good company two pools later. I would recommend them to everyone I know. They do everything not only cleaning. We had a problem with our pump and Hugo fixed it, he gave me a low price comparing my two previous quotes and that is what I paid( yes!!! that’s what I paid really ) I am a frugal mom always trying to find the best deal without sacrificing quality if this sounds familiar, give them a call now cause I promise you will not regret it. My pool looks amazing, crystal clear and everything works as it should be. Honest, knowledgeable, reliable, not greedy hard working people it’s so hard to find. I will recommend Protege Pools to everyone I know.

Protege Pool Services is AWESOME! They came as promised and made sure that my pool was sparkling when complete. I had an acid wash and pool drain/refill with all chemicals needed to restart and their prices can't be beat! I appreciate that they made the entire process so easy from the first phone call to the end of the job. I was always informed and they make you feel like family!!! Protege Pool Service is the best. Over the 18 years of owning a pool they are by far the best pool service we have used. Sandra and Hugo are amazing people that truly care about their customers. We switched to them almost five years ago and haven’t looked anywhere else. The pricing is competitive but the service is the difference. This fall our pump went out and I was being sent to a wildfire in Colorado. I was going to have my teenage son try and put the new pump on because it seemed like a simple repair. Well not so much. So I called Sandra and told her if my dilema and without hesitation she said I will have Hugo come over and take care of it. So two weeks later I return home to find everything back together and working perfectly and they did it for nothing as a result of being a loyal customer and my situation. I would gladly recommend and have recommended them to friends and family. If you use Protege you won’t regret it!

This is the worst pool service we've ever had. Like other posts, they do not show up every week like they are paid to do. They don't respond to most emails about why they aren't there as agreed or they give a stupid excuse like your water level was too low. It wasn't and that would have nothing to do with brushing the pool etc. I watched Hugo the last time he was here. He basically turned the pool on for the malfunctioning Barracuda to walk the pool and left. That appears to be his only cleaning service, let the automatic vacuum do the work and charge the customer for full service. After the dust storm on 8/31 he apparently skipped us for several weeks because when we came back into town the dirt was still in the bottom of the pool and the walls and the Barracuda was stuck with debris from the storm in it. Do yourself a favor and don't use this company. We are trying to recover from the damage they did to our pool from lack of service because they knew we didn't live in the house full time. We hadn't had algae in the pool for over 10 years but since this pool service company was employed we have had black algae etc. almost constantly. Terrible, terrible service.

Update: see response from owner below. These people lie. They claim on just about every negative review they get that the person posting didn't pay and that was the reason for no show, poor service, etc. There were no payment issues on our part. In fact, we had to beg them to send us a bill repeatedly. Their response is a blatant lie. Plus they ruined our pool. We had to pay $1000 to get the damage they did fixed. Avoid them like the plague. Also going to report them to the BBB so people are aware of what this so called business does.

Paid them to drain my pool and power wash. Pool was fine until it wasn't. Paid to have pool light replaced , stop working after a month. I was promised a replacement, never happened. Pool continued to get cloudy, was told it was the change in weather. I was eventually told I need to replace pump and filter, never received quote. Last ' service ' was all of 10 minutes....I watched the arrival time and departure time on camera. Pool has been unusable for over a month while still paying their 'services'.

I contacted this company initially to set up a pool cleaning. The phone number listed is a personal cell. I called on a Monday and was told they could come out on Wednesday but they never showed up. I contacted them and was told they would be out on Thursday but again they never showed or called. I would not recommend this company because they are unprofessional and apparently don't want the business!

I contacted Hugo based on a recommendation from a local pool store employee. I needed a diving board removed and was having a difficult time finding anyone willing to do the work without requiring us to replace our entire pool deck. Hugo was awesome. Very timely in responding and showed up on the day promised and did a superb job including his repairs underneath the diving board. I would highly recommend him for this type of job. Glad I found him!

It was supposed to be a weekly visit for them to clean my pool. I’m trying to sell my house. I pay $149/ week. Thankfully my realtor visits the house for me to check everything including the pool or else I would not know every time that Protégé Pool Service was not going. Recently (for the 3rd time they have left my pool green) my realtor sent me these photos. I asked Protégé what’s going on? I got NO RESPONSE until the next week. It wasn’t until they sent me an email to pay for service this week. I paid but now they’re saying since I haven’t paid prior, now I have to 3 weeks for service. What?!! They don’t go when they’re supposed to and then they make excuses for their lack of service and then they basically blame the client for everything. This is why their service is cheaper than other places… because they act cheap. Meanwhile my pool is still green even though they “started treatment “. Got a call today (and hung up on me) and they’re upset because I posted this review, yet they still haven’t cleaned it even though I paid.
