Overall, great experience with MasterAZscapes. Ashton did a great job designing our backyard paradise being mindful of our budget and the “must haves” vs “nice to haves.” Gabriel and the crew were pleasant, maintained a clean worksite and walked us through each step of the way. The team was flexible and more than willing to address any concerns! Looking forward to summer and enjoying our new backyard!

We had our front yard done and added some built-in planters and an outdoor shower in our backyard. Everything was done in a timely and professional manner. From speaking with Troy and getting a design complete to working with Jesus during the project, everything was great. Jesus made sure everything was cleaned up at the end of each day and they even cleaned up the dirt/mess prior to the weekend. I also appreciated the call from the main office letting me know if there would be workers coming the next day. It was overall a great experience and I would highly recommend.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! My husband and I hired MasterAZscapes to install irrigation and plants throughout our backyard in March of this year. Upon meeting our salesman Troy he seemed like a nice guy and we felt like he knew what he was doing. Well we had a few issues with our backyard after installation, and after calling Troy to get these issues fixed he immediately started pointing the finger at my husband and I. WE were blamed for not knowing a plant was poisonous, even though we hired a "PROFESSIONAL" LANDSCAPING DESIGN COMPANY. We payed MasterAZscapes almost $8,000 for our landscaping and somehow we as customers are the idiots for not knowing landscaping?? I am not exaggerating when I say that as soon as you have an issue with this company EVERY SINGLE PERSON you talk to will
A) Argue with you
B) Not take any accountability
C) Blame YOU, the customer.

Not only did we have an issue with the tree, but our irrigation that we paid (one again) 8 grand for was NOT TURNED ON. So we had brand new plants not getting watered! Isn't that great!

I called Maria (the operations manager) to have Luke come out and fix our landscaping. Once again, all of my phone calls with Maria she was incredibly rude, argumentative, and constantly playing the blame game.

After being so fed up with my experience with this company I told Maria that I will be writing a bad review because I cannot believe the level of unprofessionalism I've experience. Maria sent my husband and I a check for $625 (which is half a refund for the $1250 tree we paid for and had to remove ourselves). She asked that with this check I do not write this review (whoops).

In all seriousness though, I have never in my life experienced a business that was so highly unprofessional as MasterAZscapes. Once again, this company has taken zero accountability for their mistakes, and they love to blame blame blame. If you enjoy a company that loves to have arguments over the phone then by all means. If you are looking for a professional landscaping company to complete a job with diligence and care, then run far far away from MasterAZscapes.

Though I did not end up going with this company for my landscaping project, I did consult them for an estimate and review of my design. Their project manager that I worked with, Zee Herrera, was extremely helpful and attentive throughout the entire process. I had my own design drawn out as a novice designer and Zee was able to provide helpful insights, tips and recommendations without disregarding my goals with the project. I didn't feel pressured at all during the process and felt comfortable being up front with Zee when I elected to go with a different bid. Zee was the quickest of the individuals that I worked with at providing a 3D rendering of the project which was very helpful to visualize what it would look like when done.

Masterscapes helped me fall in love with my back yard. My yard was basically a huge dirt lot. I met with Derek and he listened to what I needed. After our meeting he sent me a blue print. The prices were reasonable so I signed up and six weeks later, they started and was finshed in 5 days. My yard is beautiful and peaceful. I am so thankful for the entire Masterscapes team.

No soliciting sign on doorbell, rang doorbell when my child is sick and sleeping, waited and left door hanger. Confronted him (Marc #2537) while walking away, acted like he didn’t see my sign (on the doorbell he rang). These companies need to leave the new neighborhoods alone it’s insane the amount of solicitors we get. Is this not trespassing? Do you have a license/ permit to solicit door to door? Completely ignored my sign, will never give them my business

Gabriel and his team were spot on. This was a very labor intense project (weather & job site not ideal) The guys were great. Showed up when promised. Easy to work with and consciences about the clean up.

Excellent communication. Being a Realtor I know that follow up and information are imperative. They were on top of everything and let me know continually how and when things were going to happen. The work was done in a timely manner (weather permitting) and the finished job is beautiful. I did my own design, but Zee tweaked it perfectly. The plants are still small in the pictures, but will grow quickly. The final result was better than I expected. All our Friends are amazed.

Troy Rock was very responsive to our request for a quote. He was out in a week and put together a beautiful custom landscape design for our front porch area and update our front yard sprinkler system. It took a couple of months to start the project because they were so busy but once scheduled they took a week to complete the project and they did a very good job. We added installation of a new sprinkler box at the end of the project and it was completed in only a couple of days. We recently had MasterAZScapes return to replace a couple of tiles and they did a great job. We would recommend them!

This is our first experience working with a full service landscaping/design firm. Zee did a wonderful job working with us, helping us to understand our options, expertly budgeted. Mike did a masterful job with our landscaping design. We were stunned as his design is magnificent. He really listened to our needs giving us a view of a major remodeling of a 35 year-old landscape. Yesterday, the first part of the plan was implemented, planting 4 trees, one of which was very large and in a difficult location. John, the construction superintendent made an early trip to assess the situation. Masterscapes had the right crew in place so the trees were expertly planted. We appreciate the warranty. We are very impressed with Masterscapes, its staff & crew, as well as its ownership.

My friends referred me to Masterscapes. They'd just had their landscaping completed, it looked great, and they'd already done price comparison shopping.

Zee came to my house to give me a free estimate. He took his time and studied the style and colors of my home. He then and drafted a gorgeous design for the back yard as part of the appointment--for no charge! The plan gave me everything I wanted plus elements I hadn't thought of. Since they are busy, I made a down payment of 1/4 of the project cost to put me in the scheduling queue (about a month and a half later).

During that time I made several small changes to the design including adding a sculpture garden with leftover granite pieces from my new home construction. There were two additional pre-construction appointments - to select rock + pavers and trees (I went to the locations with Zee) and he came to my office to select the final plants.

The customer service has been steller. The project leader (John) told me they'd accidentally dented my gate and set me up with one of their contractors to replace the metal piece (at their cost). This was in motion before I'd even noticed and the repair was perfectly done within 3 days.

The project took 7 total working days to complete over an 8 business-day time span. The workers were knowledgeable and courteous and answered several questions I had. I made 4 payments spread over the time of the work and the final payment after the gate repair--which I appreciated. I was able to make credit card payments by phone, which was very convenient.

Zee returned after the construction was completed for a walk-through, checked everything, reset my watering system (which included some nice brass plumbing added in for no additional cost), and gave me all of the warranty & plant care information. After the concrete is fully 'cured', I will paint the planters (I was told about this up front--there's also an option to use their recommended painter). My friends will receive a referral bonus.

As the photos show, the yard looks like a park and matches the design of my security door. I'm extremely happy with every aspect of this experience and highly recommend this small company to everyone. Great job Zee, John, Anna and everyone else!

We just moved in to a house with only dirt in the backyard. Jeremiah came out and listened to what we were thinking for the yard and then gave us suggestions that we hadn't even thought of. Jesus and his crew did an exceptional job with all of it. They all were not only great at their job, they were kind and very considerate. Supervisor, Darrel, kept us updated on all aspects of the project. From the island grill and the fire pit to the pergola and landscaping, they truly transformed our bland backyard to our own personal paradise. We would highly recommend Masterscapes to anyone wanting to improve or totally makeover their yard. They do high quality work with the best materials and great workmanship. These qualities are extremely hard to find these days.

First off AZscapes was great to work with in the planning process and was able to tailor our wants and needs into the backyard. We've dealt with a lot of contractors during our house renovation and they were top notch and we didn't have to babysit them. My biggest issue is after full payment was done.

1. We still had some minor touch ups such as a cracked tile we wanted fix, but the company did such a great job during the install that we were comfortable paying the last payment before the touch ups were done. We were very wrong. We had everything "finished" in November 2021 and it is now April 2022 and no one has fixed the cracked tile and other touch ups we wanted. My wife called four times total and we were able to get a hold of someone once and setup two different appointments for the fix, but no one showed up either time.

2. This one is partially our fault, but for a company with experience since 1986, I wish they were forthcoming with the issue of window glare and turf. The added turf cost an extra $5K and we have lots of burn marks from the window glare. Anyone looking to get turf, realize that double pane windows will reflect light to the ground which acts like a magnifying glass and will melt your turf. Looking back at the process, I wish AZ would have mentioned this potential issue and I would have just gotten sun shades back in Nov 2021....now I'm waiting a month out for a company to install the sunshades. I've posted how our backyard looks now while we wait...we have to cover the majority of the turf to prevent more window glare damage.

The backyard looks great without the painters tarp but their customer service is nonexistent after the install. Do your research and make sure you fully understand the pros and cons...I don't think this company will tell you the truth...at least that's how it feels. It's like trying to buy a new OLED TV and the sales person fails to mention the potential of screen burn.

It's obvious they're too busy to maintain what they sell. If you hire them, don't expect them to ever come back.

We searched for a landscape company for a while. Finally, we went to the home show and noticed the MasterAZscapes booth. We spoke to a young man named Derek whom we immediately felt comfortable with. After giving him our information, he set up an appointment to come to our home and put together a design for our backyard. We approved the design with a few minor changes and the process started. The staff at MasterAZscapes were very easy to work with. Maria, Sheila, Monica, Jesus and crew were a delight. Once the crew started, the project was completed quickly and with precision. We've been enjoying our new backyard with friends and family and we couldn't be happier with MasterAZscapes LLC. Thank you Derek G. and team.

It was a small paver job it was done within a of couple hours. Pedro's crew was respectful and professional. Cleanup was well done.

We absolutely love our new front and backyard landscaping! Derek and his crew were professional from start to finish, completing the project on time and with great attention to detail. The finishing touches really made everything come together beautifully. Highly recommend!

I worked with Jeremiah at MasterAZscapes on a water feature for my backyard. He was very helpful in designing the water feature and has been great in following up with me to ensure the work was done to my satisfaction. Even a year after it was installed, he was available to answer questions I had about the pump and the filter. I highly recommend MasterAZscapes, and Jeremiah specifically.

We had a general idea of what we wanted and needed to refresh and improve our yard, but we did not have enough knowledge of our options to settle on details and materials. Troy listened to what we wanted and needed, and made appropriate suggestions regarding the details such as the right stone, turf, and lighting for our goals. We ended up with both what we wanted and needed.
The crew was helpful and communicated well, including the staff that called in the evening to let us know the plan for the next day.
It's been a few months since the job was completed, and we have received compliments from everyone who has seen the yard.

So great I hired them a second time. From design all the way through the project, the communication is great, the crew is top notch (and like dogs!) and the office staff always lets you know what’s next (including a daily call to let you know the schedule for the next day!). Highly recommend!

We do not recommend this company. Their communication is awful. Our sales person was Troy who really talked a big game about this company. Who never called us back to help us with any issues. Not to mention Luke who was the project manager just showed he just didn’t care. We had 2000 sq ft of real grass put in our back yard that we are going to have to invest more $ into because of their negligence. The ground was not leveled appropriately. The guys that did the work sat around a little too much for what should have been only a 4 day job being disrespectful playing music as loud as they could in our back yard even after the fact my husband told them to turn it down because he is remote. The uneven ground was replaced with dirt and huge rocks that my husband and I spent at least a couple of hours pulling out of the grass that was attempted to be leveled. We didn’t realize this fact until the next day. If we were to be completely unaware of this and went to mow our yard, we could have easily had a window shattered by a flying rock. This is why we do not recommend this company. Even though these guys completed the job which was a pretty big job, the job was very sloppy. We recommend using some one else other than this company.

MasterAZScapes did an AMAZING job on our yard. I had multiple quotes done as we had just moved into our 1st home and it was a new build with a dirt backyard. Zee was extremely professional, friendly, and respectful to our budget and wishes. He answered every question we had throughout the process and was even able to get our project started earlier than expected. The team that did the labor were also great, especially Carlos. The first day of the job the rest of the team had called out sick, but rather than cancel that first day, Carlos got to work by himself on our paver patio. Luke was our construction manager and was available for questions and knowledgeable about landscaping. All in all, we got everything we wanted at a reasonable price. Thank you so much MasterAZScapes!
