Ashton and MasterAZscapes took on our fairly sizeable job and we finished it up a few months ago. The last few nights we were sitting outside in the perfect weather and commented to each other how beautiful our yard is. The lighting, new contemporary fireplace and Grill area all fit the remodeled, more contemporary look of the rest of the house and the mounding, boulders, lighting and plants all come together to create a scene of serenity. We created a "Zen garden" with a table for two for cozy breakfast and lunches outside, turning a little used patio on the side of the house into a welcoming place with a water feature, spikey plant material, pavers where flagstone used to be, ripped out an ugly gate and redid the tops of some half walls. Ashton Shipley’s landscape design has me walking into the front of my house to admire the front yard. Ashton’s knowledge, enthusiasm, and professionalism made this undertaking an exciting and smooth transition from grass to desert landscaping. Everyone who worked on the yard was skilled, friendly, and professional. They took pride in their skills and talents and it shows in the final outcome. I bought a new build on a bare acre and MasterAZscapes did a fantastic job of turning it into a desert paradise. I showed an "inspiration" photo of my ideas for the yard to the designer, Derek, who took it and made it better. I received renderings of what my landscape would look like and given an estimate of the work. I was able to accompany the designer to the plant nursery and pick out trees and shrubs with his advice. I also picked out boulders and granite. The work crew and project manager, Luke, were fantastic. The finished project, front and back yards, was even better than I had imagined: plants, granite, contouring, irrigation, lights. And it came in on budget. Now, about six weeks later, the plants and trees are thriving. I asked for "magic" and that's what I got.
Everyone I came in contact with at MasterAZscapes, from the office staff to the work crew, was professional and courteous. I would definitely use them again and I recommend them to anyone who stops by. In fact, my landscape looks so impressive that one of my neighbors has just signed up with MasterAZscapes to do their yard.

My husband and I explained to Zee, from Masterscapes, the idea's we had for our two side yards. He was very creative and made a design almost immediately. He had a vision of what could be done that was in-line with our needs. After choosing Masterscapes as our landscaper, the office was organized and phoned us each evening to confirm a crew would be working on our project. The work performed was excellent and where we made a request, they attended to it quickly. Neighbors watching the work were impressed and asked for their business cards, too. I can't say enough about our experience with MasterAZscapes. Troy was willing to go back and forth with us on our design to make it exactly as we imagined. I had saved pictures of backyard elements from online research and magazines and Troy incorporated everything we like into one beautiful design. I wanted Spanish Deco tile and Troy referred us to the perfect place in Phoenix that had gorgeous choices. We got an outdoor kitchen, outdoor fireplace, swim spa, travertine decking and walkways, pergola, artificial grass and new trees and shrubs. Our backyard looks like a resort and after living here for 18 years with just natural desert, it's so amazing to spend time in this outdoor space.
Everyone on the construction team was highly professional from start to finish. There were different crews depending on the phase they were at with our project and they were all hardworking, nice men that I felt comfortable interacting with when my husband was traveling. Luke put up with all of our new ideas and was happy to accommodate us because he could see the vision and he wanted it to be as perfect as we did. It’s hard to anticipate everything during the design phase and there were a few add-ons that we decided on after we were already in construction – for example, adding a travertine patio in front of our swim spa that we never realized we would want. Every add-on was quickly bid so we wouldn’t hold up the construction and we knew what it would cost before proceeding. There were no surprises in our final bill – everything was exactly what we had agreed on and I have to say that the final product is so much better than I could have imagined in my head. WE LOVE OUR BACKYARD! I highly recommend MasterAZscapes.

Perfect landscaping company for complete yard transformation!
For 25 years I had envisioned turning my dismal backyard into a calm and serene scenic oasis. I contacted MasterAZscapes to help realize this dream and have been overwhelmed by the amazing results. Far better than I ever expected. MasterAZscapes put together a dream team of professionals who made my concept a reality. Troy was the designer who took my abstract ideas and turned them into a detailed, practical plan. Darrell was the project manager who kept everybody moving forward in an efficient timely fashion. Jesus, Andy, Fernando, Juan, Armando and Bernardo were all artists with stone, lighting, planting, irrigation, and terrain sculpting. These are the guys you want on your project. They were always responsive, on time and worked with near fanatical attention to detail and quality.
I can't say enough and will be using this company again in the future.

Masterscapes did an exceptional job in designing our backyard. Troy spent a couple of hours with my wife and I brainstorming ideas for the yard. Once we agreed on the design he turned the project over to Daryl who did an excellent job of managing the work. He kept me informed of every step of the project. The final design was superb. My wife and I could not be happier with all of the expertise that was provided and how the backyard looks.

I couldn’t possibly be happier that I hired MasterAZscapes to build my patio. From beginning to end, everyone was professional, responsive and talented. The office personnel answered calls and questions promptly. Daniel, the designer, was very collaborative; he listened to what I wanted, asked questions & made great suggestions. He came up with a couple of possibilities to choose from, both great, and he showed me ways to get what I wanted without breaking the bank. Once the design was approved, Darrel took over as project manager. Darrel was on top of everything. He responded quickly to problems or questions. A couple of changes were necessary once construction was started, and he took care of them without even blinking. He kept in contact with me throughout the project. Armando and his construction crew are very talented masons, executing all of the curves in the design with precision, making sure that every aspect of the patio was perfect. He was very easy to work with. After the project was completed and paid for, I called to ask for a small change due to irrigation water flow. Darrel has someone there the next day to take care of it. I highly recommend MasterAZscapes - they changed a muddy, forgotten part of my yard into a beautiful outdoor living/party zone. Everyone who sees it raves. I LOVE IT!!

MasterAZscapes LLC installed a stone walled hot tub with gas lit pillars in our backyard. Jeremiah was very helpful in taking our concept to design to installation. Supply chain issues delayed the delivery of our spa, but he was very upfront about the delay and honest on the delivery time. Once they started the work they were very good, clean and delivered a great product. While they were pricey, I would use them again just for the quality product we got.

From the time the job was started until completion the folks at Masterscapes were always available with helpful information and answers to my questions. The overall result was fantastic!

I used MasterAZscapes to do my landscaping on my forever home. I had no problems with this installation from sale to finished product. I was given options at the sale on different products and was assisted in the design by them with what I had in my head at the time. I was impressed with the work crews and their professionalism and knowledge. I appreciated the daily updates from the office staff when the crews would return my project took 2 weeks to complete exactly what they quoted. I would use them again.

Would not recommend! The salesman was very convincing that their company would go above and beyond. We faced significant disappointment and frustration with the quality of work provided by this company. Here are the key issues we experienced:

1. Planting of Dead Plants: The workers initially planted dead plants in our backyard. When I raised this concern and requested live ones to be planted instead, they dismissed my worries by pointing to their refund policy. It was bewildering to hear that dead plants could somehow come back to life. After the second planting with the refund policy, the replacements also died within two days, and we were informed that only one guaranteed planting refund is offered. 30% of the plants they planted are dead, no refund offered, waste of money and time.

2. Outrageous prices for quality of work: During the installation of the new sprinkler line, damage was done to our brand new stone seat wall, chipping and cracking, they did not repair until we pointed this out and the repair work was unsatisfactory. They did a poor job reassembling the rock and stone pathways, just throwing them back rather than the careful placement they originally were in.

3. Unprofessional Behavior: The workers displayed unprofessional conduct by frequently using foul language and climbing on our trees without permission, causing damage and creating safety concerns.

4. Difficulty in Communication: The contractor proved extremely challenging to reach, making effective communication nearly impossible. Messages had to be relayed through the workers, leading to delays and misunderstandings.

Master AZscapes remodeled our backyard patio last month. We can't say enough as to what a beautiful job they did for us. The patio has been transformed into a wonderful, comfortable respite for us and ready to welcome guests. The foreman on the job, Derek, was the best. He reviewed all our ideas and came up with many himself that made the design turn Into what we imagined it to be. He and his crew SHOWED UP when they said they would and didn't keep us waiting and guessing. The crew handled the job in a timely manner and the guys were all professional and great to work with. I recommend them highly and thank them for a beautiful back patio that we and our two puppies can now enjoy. Thank you MasterAZscapes.

This company is fantastic to work with. I had about 12 quotes prior to their bid. The owner is also a designer and his design is what made us go with them. They only use the best materials for the job. We had a hot tub installed at the same time and they are able to take care of all the electrical work, so I didn't have to find my own electrician. The price is extremely reasonable for the quality of materials and workman ship.

Had a fantastic experience with them and they did an amazing job transforming my backyard into one my family will enjoy. They were very attentive and unlike most contractors I have felt with, they showed up and got the job done. They were quick and clean and stayed in constant contact. Would highly recommend them for any project you may want to have done to transform your yard.

I was absolutely thrilled with the results of my landscaping. I had them do both my front yard and my backyard. I have gotten nothing but high praise from my friends and neighbors. They have been very impressed with the results. One neighbor called it the best yard on the street. The staff was friendly and professional and attended to my every need and question. The work crew did excellent work and the foreman made sure everything was done correctly. I highly recommend this company. The work was done quickly but entirely properly. I knew the end result was going to be great but it exceeded my expectations.

We had a great experience with this company. We were looking for a company to assist us with converting our front lawn to desert landscaping and to convert the backyard grassy area to pavers adjacent to our pool area. Ashton came out for a walkthrough and to provide a quote for the work. He was very professional and personable. We described what we were looking to do and he noted everything and provided a detailed quote. The experience with another contractor was much different as he was more interested in how he would do it as opposed to how we wanted it done. Ashton listened carefully, adding some suggestions, and came back with exactly what we discussed. They were able to schedule us promptly. Jesus, and his team came in and worked quickly and thoroughly. We were surprised at how quickly they moved through demo to project completion. He and his team were very professional and courteous throughout the process. We ended up making some minor changes in scope and the team quickly incorporated them into their work without adding time to the overall project. There were a couple of minor things that were missed at the end, but we notified the team and they came and took care of them right away. Our project turned out fantastic and we are going to consider them for additional work in our pool area when we are ready to take that on. As for value, their price point was very competitive and the quality of the work was outstanding. It completely transformed our property.

MasterAZscapes recently did my backyard landscaping. Unfortunately right after I got my initial quote, my hvac bit the dust which significantly ate into my yard budget. MasterAZscapes was great and worked with me on cutting back some features to fit into my budget and still give me a nice yard. Tommy and his crew worked quickly and were thorough. My yard is simple but looks great and I’m very happy with it. I hope to utilize them in the future when I’m ready to add more things to it.

Jeremiah over saw the work I had done on my front and backyards. He did a wonderful job and was always there when I needed him.

After meeting at the home show, we immediately went to work with the team at MasterAZscapes on a refresh for a 30+ year old landscape. The irrigation was replaced in the front and back, french drains added to handle pool backwash & potential flooding and gravel to cover a multitude of bare spots. They quickly confirmed our appointment, listened to our needs and the job was complete in a timely manner.
