HVAC reviews in Scottsdale, Arizona

American Home Shield assigned Iceman Cooling & Heating to come out for our pre-season checkup. We had them out over the summer to fix our AC and they did a great job; this time was no different! Scott was extremely professional, polite, friendly, and informative. He took time to explain additional questions we had and answered everything thoroughly. We'll definitely request Scott in the future for all of our heating and cooling needs!

They did what they said they would do. I worked with AHS who assigned Iceman Cooling. The first rep came on time and diagnosed the issue. Then, as with all warranty companies they had to get approval to make the repair. Two techs were assigned. They showed up when they said, were neat efficient, and polite. The work was completed in a reasonable time and the AC is working fine.

Great help and great service. Very knowledgeable and went above and beyond to fix everything

Very professional and knowledgeable service provided by this company. During a routine maintenance check-up, a technician found a small problem that was quickly corrected, giving me piece of mind. Very easy to work with. I highly recommend them.

I was honestly nervous about how my experience would be since I had seen some negative reviews from other home warranty customers, but everything went well! Iceman was communicative throughout the whole process and they honestly answered my questions better and faster than what the representatives at AHS could. My warranty ended up covering the part and I was responsible for the crane and refrigerant. I did feel that the crane and refrigerant were pricey, but I understand that it's a business. Otherwise, the service was great.

Horrible company. Non-responsive and unprofessional.
Edit: totally agrees with the other reviews! They claimed they couldn't get into the attic to complete ductwork, but another contractor came to the house and had no problem doing it. Stay away!!
Since I can't respond to their response (which is a copy and paste from the invoice I already received and paid), I'll edit here. It's easy to blame past work (which was done before I owned the home and therefore had no involvement in). What this company can't explain away is their lack of response to phone calls and emails to me and the home warranty company. They also can't explain away the dozens of 1 star reviews on Google, Yelp, and the BBB website. Those speak for themselves and are totally warranted. -
When my AC unit went out in the middle of the Phoenix summer my Home Warranty company assigned Iceman Cooling & Heating to repair it. The compressor on the unit had gone bad, and my Home Warranty sent out a "new" (refurbished) compressor. When that too failed, Iceman Cooling & Heating manager Dawn jumped in to source a new unit (not refurbished) unit. Technicians were there the very next morning to install it, and they were very thorough checking everything in the system ensuring things were working again. Thank you to technicians Justin, Hugo and Austin who all pitched in to get the issue resolved. Special thank you to Dawn who even called me that night to make sure my house had cooled down.

Iceman Heating and Cooling was assigned to us through American Home Shield. The staff at the office, and the repairmen were awesome. It took almost 2 weeks to get all of the parts needed to get both of our AC units repaired, but that was not by anyone’s fault. We were kept apprised every step of the way. Both AC units are working great. I would highly recommend Iceman Heating and Cooling for future AC and heater repairs.

When my home air conditioner stopped working in the middle of the summer, I contacted my warranty company who, in turn, assigned Iceman Cooling to repair the unit. When the technician, Carlos, first arrived, he seemed personable and quick to repair the unit. What he told me was that the A/C capacitor was no longer working and immediately installed a new one. That day, the A/C unit turned back on and was blowing cold air again. A day later, there was a noticeable leak coming from the attic causing damage to the drywall in the ceiling. I immediately contacted the company again who stated they would send a technician to diagnose. A day later, the same technician, Carlos, arrived to inspect the issue once again. At first, he stated that the primary drain was clogged and all he needed to do was unclog. After he unclogged the primary drain he said that everything was working correctly again and (for an additional $250.00 not covered by my warranty) could install a switch that would shut the unit off if it began leaking again. I declined, as I did not have the additional funds at that moment. After about 30 minutes of "wrapping up", the tech approached me and stated that the drain pan in the attic was cracked and that is actually why the water was leaking into my attic. I asked him what could have caused that, and he stated that sometimes they rust through or over time, "just wear out". However, when he submitted the request to the warranty company, he indicated that the damage was NOT due to wear and tear. As a result, the repair was declined by the warranty company. Logically, if the damage was NOT due to wear and tear, and he was the only person to have inspected the unit in the last year, then who/what could have caused the damage? Rhetorical question! There is no doubt in my mind that he caused the damage during the previous repair and was trying to deny responsibility. At that time, he turned power off to the unit, leaving my family without A/C for over 2 weeks in the middle of the Arizona summer. During that time, I contacted the office numerous times (they do not like to return calls), and only after 2 weeks, was told that the warranty company denied my claim. I then requested a second opinion from a more reputable company who was able to fix the damage that Iceman Cooling caused. This company is horrible, unresponsive, and absolutely apathetic to you as a consumer. And to add to all of this, less than a month later, I am now having the same problem that Iceman Cooling is claiming to have repaired. If your warranty company assigns this company to repair your A/C, call the warranty company immediately to request a company that knows what they are doing. With the written statement of qualified professionals, and the out of pocket amount made towards the repairs, I will be suing this sad excuse of a company. Consumer beware!!!

I live in the west valley and have had to use my home warranty 2 times for my AC. Both times I got Justin as a tech he communicates, is professional and on time. If you call Iceman and can get Justin scheduled as your tech I would highly recommend.

I was a little apprehensive having Iceman as our AC company based off previous reviews and our home warranty company burning us in the past. Iceman got to us a couple days after we reported the issue, but it was a weekend and the middle of August. They got to our house 20 min early, knocked out the repair (blown condenser capacitor) and Justin was nice enough to explain everything. Can't speak to more complex/expensive issues when it comes to HW fixes, but I was impressed and pleased with Iceman

I needed my main homes AC fixed. I do have a home warrant but was willing to pay out of pocket as some work was excluded or partially covered. If it got covered that's of been great but if not I didn't care because I needed that air back on.
Their technician Chris came a few hours after the 8am to 12pm time slot. He did give me a call around noon to let me know he was running late though. Great customer service and got everything up and running no problem.
I'll definitely be using them again. Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because I have a feeling they were over booking their technician. He called multiple times to let me know where he was time wise though and I really appreciated that.
FYI the R 22 was running about 70.00 per pound with the warranty (which after researching is reasonable at current industry prices). They were also honest in letting me know the levels were only low and not empty. -
The service tech said Freon replacement would be 1600$ for the unit. That is 140.$ a pound. Average cost in the valley is 45$ a pound. They are rude in the office, might as well have cursed. So when I got angry she said don't call her again. I do not recommend this garbage. The only reason I cussed was the lady was very rude. I should not have. And how can you charge someone 100$ more a pound then the average rate. Your taking advantage of people and your rating is a reflection of that.

Technician Justin arrived on time and was very professional. He treated our home as if it were his own and kept me apprised of the issue and corrective action he was taking. He gave pointers on keeping my HVAC running efficiently. Highly recommend Ice Man Cooling and Heating.

Our technician was super friendly and helpful! He seemed very knowledgeable. I would definitely use them again.

They did not actually repair my AC but that was the request. They were the company my American Home Shield (my home warranty company) sent out when my AC went out. That was last Friday (a day after my request) and they said it needed a part that had to be approved by AHS and ordered and would be 3-5 days before they would be back. Mind you this is when temps were 115. They found the part locally (luckily) so were able to schedule the repair for Tuesday (5 days after my initial call). That did not fix the issue so I had to call them back. Tech came later that day and found some other issues that he missed the first time. Oh and almost $1000 in Freon because he had to release it even though it was just charged the week before. Fixed those issues and said it was done and working. It was not. Called them back and they said they could not get someone out until the following day (today). Said they were sending a Sr Tech to figure out the issue. He came and said the issue is an air cleaner that was installed almost a year ago by a reputable AC company. (really?) so he disconnected the air cleaner (did not look any further for a problem) and said it is fixed but call right away if any issue. Also told me to reach out to the other company and get my money back with the warranty for the air cleaner. Well of course within less than an hour of him leaving it began to cycle on and off and blow warm air. Same issue I originally called about. I sent him a text and called the office and got voicemail so I left a message. Never heard back. Left a few more messages and sent another text to the tech. Now it is after hours and of course there is no hope of them calling me back. I am going to dispute the Freon charges since they had to release all if it and it was fully charged and I will be looking for a new home warranty company. Preferably one who have a call center in the US and an office where people will actually call you back.
More on Iceman - They never did get back to me yesterday or this morning. Luckily I got a referral from a family member for another company and the tech was here within an hour, found the issue, replaced the part and AC has been working since and it was only $210.
Iceman needs to reimburse me for the Freon charges since my AC was fully charged and they should have reclaimed it and put the same back in instead of charging me for 12 pounds (over $1000). If they did not reclaim it and released it then they are in violation.
Ironically American Home Shield sent me a text this morning asking for a review of the service. I will just copy and paste this review. Maybe they can avoid paying Iceman for the unnecessary parts they said my unit needed. -
Our 3 year old A/C compressor died under warranty and Iceman was selected to repair the unit. From first contact to follow-up, the owner of Iceman, Seth, and his team communicated and responded in the most professional manner. Seth even went the extra mile to secure the cooling coil quicker from the manufacturer. The technician, Austin, and his partner responded ontime and efficiently replaced the coil quickly. The unit tested perfectly and is now running although not the season we need it. Can't wait to see how well it works this summer. Iceman exceeded our expectations and we will use them again if needed.

Great company to work with. The treat me like a valued customer. I take advantage of the annual Maintenance Program for my heat pump. They call to remind me to schedule service & scheduling is easy. The tech, Rick, always calls when he's heading my way, he's is on time, thorough & respectful of my home. He provides images of proposed repairs or replacements needed to keep my aging unit functioning. I highly recommend Iceman Heating & Cooling at every opportunity I have to do so.

Excellent service! Repaired my A/C unit on the first visit within an hour of arrival. Arrived early in the provided window and texted 30 minutes ahead of the arrival time. Very professional and courteous with very clear explanation of the issue and resolution. Super happy with my repair experience with Iceman Cooling and Heating. Would definitely recommend!

Scott was outstanding with not only his quick response and Customer Service but his knowledge and understanding of my problem was top notch. I was having a problem and getting resistance from my Home Warranty company but after several attempts was connected with Iceman. Scott replaced my Heat Pump quickly, professionally and on time, even answered my cell phone calls in a timely manner and addressed my after install concerns with a couple of follow up visits. Service from Iceman was first rate and if you need HVAC work done, I highly recommend Iceman and if possible, request a visit from Scott, he's on it.

My heater was blowing cold air. I called my home warranty company and was assigned Iceman Cooling and Heating. Within an hour of the call to the warranty company, I received a call from a very nice woman at Iceman who set up an appointment with a technician for the following morning. Rick called and then was here during the scheduled time and quickly diagnosed the problem. He explained everything and quickly had my heater blowing hot air. Prior to my service I read the reviews for Iceman. I saw that people were either extremely satisfied or very disappointed, with no middle ground. It’s my guess that the dissatisfied customers are more likely upset with their home warranty and the rules the warranty company has set for payment guidelines. I was VERY happy with every bit of my experience with Iceman Heating and Cooling. I would not hesitate to recommend this company.
