Lavender to the rescue!!! We had a very challenging lot that needed 2 structures married together with landscaping. We hired Lavender after spending months not knowing how to proceed. Thank goodness we did. Their knowledge and creative ideas were beyond our expectations. They have been very responsive when we had questions and willing to meet at convenient times for us. Thanks to Lavender our lot with 2 homes will be the the shining spot in the neighborhood. I recommend Lavender to anyone without hesitation.

Do not hire this company unless you have suitcases of gold and a two year timeline to implement your project. We had gone in with the expectation of a 125k project and the initial proposal was 215k and didn’t meet any of our design requests. We asked to switch designers and got our project down to something respectable design wise but the budget was still 50k over budget. 175k for a 15x30 pool with a spa and pagoda, not even quality equipment and a 12 month build time! We decided to run from this company before signing a contract after having friends have to deal with the building headache of hiring them. It sounds like the don’t have good subcontractors or lack subs at all, bad communication, and bad project management. We built a modified plan off what we paid for (since there was so many design issues engineering wise) in two months dig to swim and 50k under budget with upgraded 4k pagoda and upgraded equipment. Do not hire this company, plenty of other great designers in the valley. Don’t get stuck in their trap, unless you’re dropping 500k or more. Maybe they won’t run a ponzie scheme on you.

We contracted Lavender Landscape to build a covered patio for our backyard. We worked with Claudia Q from the beginning to the end. She was extremely detail-oriented, patiently reviewed all the details with us, promptly responded to all our questions, and went above and beyond to address our concerns. Lavender Landscape promptly obtained a city permit for the project, started the project, and completed it on time. Our questions related to engineering, color, or other concerns were either answered by Claudia, or she consulted her engineer colleagues and responded. We are happy with the result and will definitely call Lavender Landscape for any future projects.

As soon as my project was started with the lavender team it was smooth sailing. The construction team was on time and at the project all day. Jody was my project manager and I can't speak more highly! He was always on top of it and VERY honest about everything! He continued to keep me informed every week. We had a few hiccups and him and the lavender team worked quickly to resolve which is KEY to customer happiness!! 5/5 stars for construction and Jodi!!

I had hoped to wait until my backyard was finally finished to write this review, but after four months since our pre-final walkthrough (2/7/25), the project is still not complete
(project started late Nov 2024). I’ve decided to go ahead and write the review now, as my opinion hasn’t changed, and I’m doubtful it will.
Lavender Landscape Design may have a great marketing team and a design team that knows how to impress you with their presentations, but once the actual work begins, everything quickly goes downhill. From my experience, Lavender lacks the following essential qualities:
1. Poor Communication:
Communication between the design team and project manager/coordinator was virtually nonexistent. What was discussed with the design team was rarely, if ever, communicated to the project manager or the crew. For example, we discussed moving certain plants to a different part of the yard (which was not on the original design plan) because it would look better—but this was never passed along. Communication from the project manager was hit or miss. I’d ask questions and often had to wait days or even weeks for a response. When I did hear back, it was always something like, “Yes, I’m on it,” but nothing ever progressed.
Eventually, I spoke to the design lead, and he actually listened to my concerns and seemed to care—but then he left the company. I then turned to the Office Manager to voice my issues, and guess what? She left the company too. So, in short, there’s no consistency or accountability.
2. Lack of Supervision:
My partner and I barely saw the project lead at the site. When he did show up, it was typically only for 30 minutes, and then he’d disappear. This forced us to micromanage the project ourselves. The crew struggled to read the design plan, which led to plants being misplaced. My partner and I had to step in and show them where everything should go. It’s too long a story to fully document here, but trust me, it was frustrating.
3. Lack of Attention to Detail:
Where do I even begin with the lack of detail? There were numerous errors and issues that should have been addressed:
Wrong tiles were used around the new retainer wall and the fire pit area that was added to our spa.
The wrong amount of rocks were ordered, and when additional rocks were requested, the wrong size showed up.
Several plants were incorrect and didn’t match what we had agreed upon.
Some of the path lights were not ordered correctly, causing more delays and confusion.
Plants were planted into the ground along with the nursery pots
4. Unresolved Issues:
As of now, I’m still waiting for the rain curtain to be fixed. It was installed back in January, but for some reason, it still doesn’t work. I was told that a replacement part was ordered, but no one can seem to give me a straight answer about its status or when it will be fixed.
Additionally, there are still issues that need to be addressed from our pre-final walkthrough, which were supposed to be resolved but have not been.
In conclusion, I cannot recommend Lavender Landscape Design. While their design presentation might look great initially, their lack of communication, supervision, attention to detail, and failure to follow through on promises made has left me extremely dissatisfied. Maybe if I asked for more of an extravagant design my experience would have been smoother but I just feel like once I paid off my invoice, my backyard has turned into an afterthought even though there is still a lot of stuff that needs to be fixed. All in all, If you’re looking for a company that can deliver on time and with quality, look elsewhere.

Lavender creates exceptional designs that transform spaces beautifully. However, multiple management layers likely drive up overhead costs, making projects expensive. They lack strong industry connections, which limits competitive pricing. While they agree to customer requests, they often overlook value engineering, missing cost-effective alternatives and creating lack of confidence in ability to construct the design. I moved forward with an alternative landscaping company for half the price, within 20% of Lavender's estimated time to completion and quite a few "upgrades" that would not have been within budget with Lavender. Great company for someone with unlimited budget and time.

This company is undeserving of any consumer review less than 5 stars!

I consulted with pool building and backyard renovation companies for nearly a year before discovering and deciding on Lavender Landscape. Admittedly, I almost didn't contact them. I believed they only catered to high-end luxury multi-million dollar homes and because they've encountered some bumps in the road with a couple not so positive reviews.

During my first meeting with my team, Xan and Tony, the owner, Haley Tew, came in and introduced herself. I spoke with Haley candidly about the reviews. She spoke openly and was genuinely honest about the challenges they encountered with a fast growing business during a pandemic. Supply demand was high, while production and availability, as we all know, was nearly non-existent during this time, which caused some jobs to extend beyond the anticipated completion date. Haley didn't brush the issue under the rug, or make excuses. She fell on the sword and explained what they have done to improve their business operations and customer experience.

As a business owner, I know that businesses live and die on their reviews. No business operation is perfect, but when they recognize errors and correct it, that's honorable and the type of business I will hand my hard-earned money to. I wrote a check that day and have never regretted it.

My experience with Lavendar Landscape has been nothing short of phenomenal! They are extremely organized, systematic, communicative and talented with their designs. I have an entire team of polite, intelligent, knowledgeable professionals assigned to my job. A++++++ experiences with Xan and Tony! They truly do design with your lifestyle in mind. I have a big rambunctious Rottie that loves playtime and water activities. Tony designed a PERFECT shade structure for entertaining and a special area in the pool just for my Rottie.

They aren't the cheapest, nor are they the most expensive, but they are THE BEST in work quality, design and customer experience!

Love my awesome waterfall, BBQ, trampoline, water feature turf and decking! Amazing design, construction was slower than I wanted but it got done and got done right! It's amazing!

In response to Lavender's reply to my husband's review - they say we have slandered their company, yet everything we presented is true and factual. They are now the one making non-factual statements. We waited almost 4 months to post something as we tried to work through this as we were strung along by Lavender telling us this was "normal" and "to be expected." When we got confirmation from the ROC (at Lavender's request) of what we already knew, Lavender dug in and said we needed to pay to fix their confirmed mistakes. That is when we decided to finally post something and hopefully save someone else the absolute nightmare this has been.

You say that the the discoloration is "due to our overwatering." This is laughable. We have never once "watered" our deck. In fact, you asked us to keep it dry to see if the staining would resolve and we have done so and the staining has not resolved. The only water that has been on it is rainfall and your crew hosing it down daily for 3+ weeks during install. And the video we sent you where we couldn't hose off the mold!

We needed a paver for outdoor use around a pool. You recommended this paver and the installation method. We're not the experts - you're supposed to be. How do we keep that outdoor paver next to a pool from getting wet and causing discoloration? How did that stone not get wet during the thousands of years it was in the quarry in India? Must be the Arizona water that's suddenly caused discoloration after thousands of years of getting rained on in another country - but only on the stones that were laid set over sand - not the extra pavers on sitting outside on a pallet.

If the discoloration is due to water - should you have never recommended this paver to us FOR OUTDOOR USE AROUND A POOL? Is it not for exterior use? Did you tell us that the stones would turn brown and black and that we would have picture frame stains on the pavers? - you did not, instead you said this was "standard natural stone variation," but only after the staining presented Did this level of discoloration happen to the extra stones on site that were subject to the same amount of rain? It did not. Your premise over "watering" causing the discoloration is laughable.

You say that all photos we have provided are when the decking is wet. That is false Attached are photos of what it looks like when wet (from rain - not our "overwatering" of our deck). You can tell in the original photos that the stones are not wet - if the discoloration was due to wetness, why wouldn't all the surrounding stones not be the same color as the discolored stones? Please do not make false statements. If you have photos of those SAME AREAS that you claim "when dry that look completely different," please post them.

I wish we had read the reviews before we used your company. This work is supposed to be warrantied and we see that at least one other has had a hard time with you honoring the warranty. As the ROC inspector you solicited to the site said - this work does not meet its workmanship standard. Yet, you continue to give us the opinions of people who have never even seen the workmanship or results of your work or who are sales reps of the Company whose product you ruined.

You wish us to pay for brand new materials to fix your mistakes. I already paid $45k for materials that you ruined. You delivered a deck that looks terrible and, per the ROC, that does not meet industry workmanship standards $45k that includes your markup on those same materials. Why should it be us that eats the cost for materials you ruined?

You should have never recommended the stone (told to us by your employee), you did not meet industry workmanship standards (per the ROC), and the pictures/results speak for themselves. Yet, you continue to tell us it's our fault and you did nothing wrong. Do right by your customer.

***UPDATE Lavender Landscape still has not paid us. We have filed a complaint with the ROC and had a hearing set for 7/23 and then they obtained a lawyer and since have had ROC hearing pushed back to 9/5/25. We have also been told that they are or have filed for bankruptcy.

Morocco Construction is a new trade partner with Lavender Landscape and Design and no words can describe the hopes of a partnership with them. Needless to say, HUGE disappointment.
I have read the previous reviews and want their current and future customers, especially those that have had communication issue with Lavender, that its not just on the customer end, its on the subcontractor's end as well. As their subcontractor, we have had nothing but issue with them paying for jobs that have been completed. They tell us that the invoice was sent to the wrong email, or then turn around and say they don't have it at all. Then we are told a check is ready for pick up, we go there, and no check. All of a sudden the check cant be found. Knowing that this is a top priority situation, you would think they would make it a priority. NOPE!!! We have been in business since 1998. This is not how you conduct business. Lavender Landscape you need to do better with your customers and your sub-contractors.

5/15/2025 - Payment still not made to Morocco. Invoices were sent to Lavender on the day the work was completed (Back in Feb.). They called us to ask if we would take $5k per week, we agreed to this was back on 4/25/25. That was 3 weeks ago and still no payment.

We were wowed by Lavenders initial designs for our home. After putting down an $80k deposit in Jan 2025 for a large patio, pool and landscape renovation we were hopeful. After a couple of months of very little to no communication, we began worrying. At that time, we read multiple reviews that unfortunately sounded exactly like what we were going through. We decided to cancel our contract with Lavender in March 2025 after NO work had been done. We were told that after losing 10% cancellation fee and other expenses Lavender incurred, that we would be getting approx. $40k back. We have still not received a penny back and have tried with lawyers as well. We will now be filing with the ROC and BBB as well as continual use of our lawyers.
Please do not use this company, they are stealing money and using it for their own personal use.

Do NOT make the mistake of giving a dime of your money to this company. The negative reviews are spot on with our experience and I know that some of their “glowing” reviews come from friends or family and people that have had design work done without experiencing the actual build process which is horrific. Hiring this company was the worst choice we made, they were dishonest, lacked attention to detail, didn’t complete work, ordered incorrect materials and refused to fix replace them. We were scared about retaliation from them. Please do your homework and check their reviews and their complaints with the ROC.

I am in LOVE with the design that Lavender did for our new build backyward!! Brett and Alli are amazing to work with. They listen very well and delivered the mood that I shared on my pintrest board! We have moved quite a few times and built a few backyards, no past experience has come close to this in terms of design! They know their products, materials inside and out and that was important as I have lessons learned from previous build. They are truly THE EXPERTS in their field!!!

Update on Pool - They are doing our pool and spa - which is currently under contruction and they have been flyig through it. They are the best in terms of design, communication, timeline, issue resolution and they even beat two other pool companies in terms of price. We built a pool in 2020 with another company and this experience has been truly amazing compared to the other one.

We met with a designer at the showroom and we were really impressed and excited! We were ready to dive into our project whole heartedly, and also decided to "sleep on it" before giving our $7,500 retainer.
THANK GOODNESS we waited.

I googled the owners (OMG!)
I personally spoke to clients and sub contractors
And I learned that they had filed chapter 11 just 2 days before and that they would most likely lose their license the end of August. Homeowners had lost large sums of money and subs had not been paid.
I felt so deceived that we sat there in their office and they were ready to take our money. I asked the company about this and was told that they were "restructuring",
Dodged a huge bullet. So sad.
Please do your due diligence.

We couldn’t be happier with the design, construction, and end result of our landscaping and pool project. Our backyard offered unique challenges with steep grading and an extremely hard dig, but Haley and the Lavender Landscape team rose to the challenge and created a beautiful backyard that exceeded our expectations. They turned a barren rock patch into a desert oasis. I would highly recommend Lavender Landscapes to anyone looking for a modern, unique landscape design.

Great people at Lavender! They're doing some amazing things - very design forward. If you're looking for a top tier, highly reputable, full service design build partner, Lavender will impress. Happy to call them a partner!

My husband and I recently hired Lavender Landscape Design Co. to design our pool, back and front yards. We absolutely love the 3D design video that Lavender created for us! It helped us visualize our yard and new home. The design video is very in depth. You can truly see every element of the plan. Haley, the owner and chief designer at Lavender, was able to edit the design on the spot with us when we wanted to make some tweaks to the plan. She answered all of our questions and helped us come up with creative ways to make our yard exactly what we envisioned. The Lavender team has been very responsive, innovative and collaborative to work with. We are extremely excited to for the construction phase with Lavender to implementing our dream oasis in the desert!

Absolutely the worst experience we've had with any home project. They took a significant deposit from us over a year ago and abandoned the project after months of stringing us along with excuses. They owe us money back from our deposit for work never performed and the past year of working with them has been horrific. We are actively pursuing professional complaints against them so hopefully others won't have the same experience.

Lavender pre sales process is good with big promises of good workmanship, timely implementation, excellent warranty service etc etc etc. It’s lies, all lies. The only thing they do on time is over bill you weekly. My backyard is complete but getting warranty service is impossible. Go somewhere else.

I love my yard. I love that anyone that comes over, stops and says “wow”. As with any big project there were hiccups a long the way. It was also at the height of supply shortages which prolonged our initial time line of 3
Months to about 6 months. But it is what it was. The design process was great. I knew what I wanted but had a hard time communicating it. I changed about 90% of the original design but that was ok and my designer sat with me making changes in real time to make sure it’s what was in my head. Any changes from that point was met with “not a problem!”
The quality of work was very good too. Little things like how the corners of the pool have this cool herringbone pattern vs vertical meets horizontal. DC and his team were a pleasure. There were some challenges along the way with pipes having to be repositioned, the pool dug too wide in an area, and some other minor issues. Most of them caught by the team so I learned to relax because I knew they had it. The biggest issue was communication like others have mentioned. At times I felt like I was driving it but we worked out issues and we were back on track. This is a young and growing company and not perfect but I am 100% sure they will get this figured out and excel here too. I also feel good that the work is guaranteed and so far everyone has lived up to the promises made. Hubby puppy and I am very happy with how it all turned out. So thank you Claudia, DC, Ian and Haley
