My wife and I have been through a number of remodeling projects and I can tell you that working with Zona was a refreshing experience. Mac Hicks runs his crew and his company like a Swiss watch. The whole crew was on time, polite, efficient and precisely on schedule. Mac had an immediate understanding and vision of the project and took the time to incorporate numerous little details that really polished the final product. This concrete project was adjacent to one we did a few years ago and Zona did an excellent job marrying the two together. While that first one was done well, however, Zona's project was certainly more elegantly achieved. They are clearly a cut above the rest.

Working with Mac and his crew at Zona Concrete was an outstanding experience. We had them demo and repour our front and back patios, including the pool area, plus add a sidewalk between our two houses. From start to finish, I can't say enough about the knowledge, professional attitude, and courteousness of Mac and his crew. I am writing this review a year after the job, and we are very pleased with how well the work has held up. You cannot go wrong with Zona Concrete!

From the first phone call to the completion of our driveway, the service was exceptional. Mac provided me examples to go see while we were making decisions about what we wanted. There was no pressure. Once work started, the team was there every day until the project was done. They tore out our decaying asphalt driveway, prepped, and poured. Everyone who came to the worksite was friendly, and I enjoyed listening to them laugh/sing while they worked. The project was completed exactly on schedule, and our new driveway is beautiful! I highly recommend Zona Concrete.

Zona does an excellent job. We've used them on some commercial projects that require a high level of technical expertise. They handled it with a "no problem" approach and the results were exactly what we needed. Highly recommend - you won't be disappointed!

We hired Mac to do some finished concrete for around a pool and some stepping pads in a pool. This was the first time using Zona Concrete .We looked for months and months for someone we would be confident in to be able to complete the job to the clients standard. All of the guys we very curious, respectful, clean and diligent workers. Every day they cleaned the site up. At the end of the project I couldn’t even find one mail on the site. Mac worked around all the other subcontractors on the site so they could keep working. Every time and date he said would happened happened accordingly. He communicated through the whole process. He shows up on site and knows what’s going on and really takes care of every detail. In the end we received the best possible look and quality product that could be achieved.

Our new driveway is beautiful! After a month, we still comment on how nice it looks and how happy we are that we chose Zonacrete to do the work. Mac kept in touch with us and his crew during the install so we were all on the same page. His crew obviously likes what they do and they enjoy working together. It was fun hearing them chat and laugh while they worked. Started on time, finished on time, cleaned up at the end of each day, and when the job was finished, we were left with nothing but a very beautiful entrance to our home.

We have been pleased with Zona Concrete's entire process of our driveway installation. Mac Hicks listened to our requests and produced a design we were happy with. He communicated the various steps in the tear out of our chip seal and installation of the new concrete aggregate driveway. Mac Hicks, the owner of Zona Concrete, is a very talented concrete designer/engineer who took our hillside driveway from deteriorated asphalt to piece of art/showcase exposed aggregate.
Mac is a hands on, down to earth individual who worked side-by-side with his professional and knowledgeable Foreman Jerry and the well organized hard working crew. They left the site very nice and clean. The project started right on time and finished exactly on the date they promised for it to be done.
I have been comparing the quality of concrete driveways in the foothills area for over a year before deciding who to sign on for our driveway project. It was after seeing Mac’s work that it became obvious for me to choose 5 star Zona Concrete. I can't say enough about how great these guys are.

At our first meeting, Mack went over the many options of colors and textures (who knew there were so many). He listened to what we were planning to do in our backyard and made suggestions on where we might want reinforced footers and the colors and textures that may be the best for our needs.

On the big day, Mack and his guys showed up when they said they would. They were tidy and careful not to injur custom gates, walls and plants. They taped up sheet plastic where every needed to protect.

Watching them was really cool. They carefully crafted the concrete pads that we ordered. I know that sounds weird, but they did. It was like watching a baker ice a wedding cake. The guys added a little here and a little there until it was leveled perfectly. I expected them to take off but they stayed and watched the concrete as it cured, making sure it stayed wet and that it dried properly. Before they did finally leave, Mack made sure that we understood that the concrete would turn white and that he would be back in 10 days to acid wash it.

The concrete is beautiful and I love how it feels under foot. I highly recommend that you call Mack at Zona if you want quaility and craft with no problems later.

Our experience with Zona Decorative Concrete was excellent all around. Zona Concrete installed our beautiful new exposed aggregate driveway. The process from the initial walkthrough to the final product was a professional and, dare I say, pleasant, experience. The quote was right on, the final product was better than I imagined, and the entire crew were friendly and efficient.

Along the way, we had a lot of random (probably stupid) questions that were immediately answered. Every step of the process was explained and we always felt comfortable. Not only did our driveway turn out great, but the crew left our property cleaner than they found it.

Mac Hicks and his Zona team did a very professional job replacing our worn-out asphault driveway with a beautiful and durable exposed aggregate concrete driveway.

I should mention that the driveway is large (16,000 sf).

Mac did a great job walking us through the various choices we needed to make: smooth or exposed aggregate; color (taupe, which looks great with the desert background); depth; wire mesh for stability; borders and accents; etc.

We could see that the team worked well together, which is important for concrete because once the wet stuff has been poured, everyone has a job to do and there's no time for dawdling or disagreement :). These guys made it look easy.

Mac's team also installed paver accents and borders, which added that extra touch.

Finally, Mac was there every day of the project to oversee, answer questions, resolve any small issues, and so on. That may sound like a small thing, but it wasn't - he personally made sure that everything was on time and looking good. Excellent communication.
