My husband and I brought our new home ideas to David. He created a custom floor plan that fit our needs and he and his crew built a wonderful custom home in rural Pima County for us. It’s been 2 months since we moved in and each day I’m in awe of the craftsmanship and can’t wait to come home at the end of every day! Thank you David, Travis, Adam, and everyone else that made our dream come true!

When I first considered Good Boy Builders for my project and then spoke to David in person, I knew there might be some risk in hiring them. It was a company without a long history in the Tucson area, although their construction specialists did seem have a lot of experience with other companies. Further, David admitted he hadn't built a lot in Pima County. I decided to give a relatively young company a chance, and to make a long story short, David and his team at Good Boy Builders did a great job on my new workshop & garage. I was particularly impressed with Louis Gonzales of JB Steel and his work! I got several bids on my project & David came in within my budget and recommended Mueller Steel Buildings. The Good Boy Builders team worked extremely hard to meet my schedule, but alas, due to Pima County Development and Flood requirements, building permits took longer than either of us had anticipated. I believe this can be expected on almost any significant building project! David worked with the Pima County building authorities and made significant modifications to our original foundation plan, all without increases to his contracted estimate. I am delighted with the result & would give David & GBB at least an 8 on a scale of 1 - 10 (ten being perfection, which NEVER happens!!). David was always up front with us on what needed to be done, any potential delays, and always tried to keep us satisfied. My only real criticism is with the quality of the fill dirt used to fill around the foundation. It seems to be low grade of pit dirt with large stones (makes it difficult to work with post construction!) Having said this, I would recommend them for any job you may have in mind & you can expect quality workmanship & honesty with David and GBB.

I would highly recommend Grail Construction for any remodel you are planning. They do a fabulous job and their employees were amazing to work with throughout the process!

This general contractor is very thorough on all of their projects! Tim Smith is an excellent resource to work with for every aspect of a project. He is very good at pointing out things that would otherwise be missed before a project even starts. Kitchen ideas, bathroom ideas, remodeling ideas, you name it, they can help!

I was very pleased with the final outcome of this very extensive remodel. The general contractor, Tim Smith, was a pleasure to work with, very accommodating and had many helpful suggestions. He obviously had an excellent working relationship with all his employees, who were all hardworking and very competent. The weak link in any construction project is dependence on subcontractors, and it can sometimes be difficult to mesh their availability with your own schedule. On the whole, however, the delays were manageable, the project was completed within a reasonable time, and I am now enjoying the fruits of everyone's labors.

Worst company ever they do nothing

Rude, disrespectful employees, outdated broken equipment, very poor work ethics and no teamwork whatsoever. Leadership is everything and this company lacks this. Do not use this company if what you are looking for is Commitment to do the job or even to be in the company. Poorly managed do not recommend it.

This contracting company does not work very fast. It is like they work in slow motion. Projects take forever. They also put out more caution signals than necessary.

Their drivers don’t stop for kids in crosswalks inside a school zone or use their blinkers. Can’t imagine what corners they cut in their contracting work. Might want to remind them they represent your business while they are driving 👍🏻

As a homeowner for 30 years in Tucson, AZ, I believe Tom Chartrand is the professional you have always hoped to work with. This I/we discovered as we experienced the gutting and remodeling of our 30 year old, very large master bathroom. Out went the huge dated Florida tub and separate shower room and in went new flooring, cabinets, and a stunning partially glass-enclosed walk-in shower which reveals tiling accented with beautiful tiles which are carried over into the former shower/toilet room. Also included were two new wider doors as well as a wider pocket door.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM TC CONTRACTING: HIGHEST QUALITY OF WORKMANSHIP AND ATTENTION TO DETAIL:
    Completion of project on time
Supervisor on site on a daily basis
Meeting/listening/discussing project on a regular basis - clear
    explanations to questions.
Respect for your home and property
    Highest standards and professionalism
Work site maintained with safety in mind
As environmentally dust free as possible
    Daily end-of-day clean up
Exceptional in every way. Tucson is fortunate to have TC Contracting in the neighborhood. Welcome and thank you, Tom Chartrand.

TC Contracting helped us bring our outdated master bathroom and bedroom into a twenty-first century beauty. Company owner and master builder Tom Chartrand has the experience, talent, artistic vision, and organizational and communication skills to keep projects on track and make the experience rewarding. I've seen his other projects from decks to full house remodels that are fantastic--check out his website for photos.I highly recommend TC Contracting!

On many occasions, my wife Sue and I (Inventia Design) worked as fabricators (we did built-in and freestanding furniture, and furniture modifications) under Tom’s leadership as a general contractor in Portland, Oregon. In spite of all my experience as a custom furniture builder, Tom taught me how to do things that I had never done before. Tom’s leadership enabled me to successfully go outside of my areas of expertise and grow as a craftsman. His strong design sense and decision-making ability allowed me to focus on what I do best. When Tom comes to me with a plan to build something, as an expert fabricator I find that this smooths the path to great results, making the process time/cost-efficient and straightforward, rather than ambiguous. This yields consistently superior results for everyone, especially Tom’s clients.

I’ve been lucky to have Tom remodel my last two homes, both Craftsman bungalows from the 1920’s. It’s hard to say what I liked best about working with Tom….He’s the consummate Professional. He listens to your ideas and helps you bring them to fruition while not losing site of the Timeline and Budget. I wanted someone who would remodel my homes with the same quality craftsmanship with which the homes were built and Tom delivered.

The first project Tom worked on with me was a Kitchen remodel, that another Contractor had started and never completed. With Tom and his crew on the job I ended up with a gorgeous kitchen … Custom cabinetry and soapstone countertops, which were the perfect showcase for my restored vintage O’Keefe and Merritt stove and Drainboard sink. I was so pleased with the finished project that I hired Tom to add a 1/2 bath on the main floor and a patio off the kitchen. I sold the home and purchased another Bungalow, which required an extensive remodel. With the new home I didn’t bother to interview other Contractors for the project. I knew I would have to touch every room in this house and Tom was on board to help me bring my vision to fruition. The end result surpassed my dream, especially the bathroom. Tom did an incredible marble mosaic floor, hand setting the tiles in a custom pattern he designed.

I highly recommend Tom to anyone who wants exquisite quality craftsmanship. It’s why I’ve hired him for my last two homes and would hire him again without question.

My partner Rick and I strongly recommend Tom Chartrand to anyone needing renovation work done in their home. Immediately before the renovation project of our newly purchased home, we hired Tom to do the house inspection required here in Portland. His written report was complete and he discussed it in full detail with us. With that brief experience working with him, we felt confident hiring him to do the renovation. We wanted the following done in the house before moving in: major renovations in both bathrooms; a totally renovated kitchen (granite counters, tile backsplash, new appliances and lighting, and refinished cabinetry); and new hardwood floors throughout. Tom worked with us in formulating our ideas, budget and schedule. For whatever Tom didn’t do himself, he took responsibility for hiring sub-contractors and for managing their work. All the work was of high quality. Tom kept within our budget and we were able to move in by the date targeted. Throughout the course of the project, he was readily available to us for any questions or concerns we had. And he was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. When Tom left Portland after the project’s completion, it was our loss and Tucson’s gain.

Tom is a top-notch contractor. He embodies professionalism, great craftsmanship, strong work ethic, an artists eye, and all around fantastic person. Tom has completed 3 jobs for us in Portland, OR. The first job consisted of a complete bathroom tear out and remodel. This bathroom is amazing! Everyone that comes into the bathroom remarks on how nice it is and how well designed. Tom worked with us and gave input when we weren’t sure how we wanted something designed and was always helpful about explaining the details of the work. The second job Tom did for us included the removal of an exterior window and replaced it with a beautiful sliding door, this is a good segue into the third job. He built us a fabulous deck that comes off of the new sliding door. Tom was instrumental in the design and final draft of the deck. This addition basically adds an entire living space to our house during the summer and we love it and have hosted many parties on it. Before we found Tom we had interviewed three other contractors but when we saw how nice his craftsmanship was and how knowledgeable he is, we knew we had to go with him and are very happy we did. Also, he’s great with animals. We have a high-strung dog and Tom would come and work while we were gone and our dog ended up really liking him. You can’t go wrong hiring Tom. I know other reviewers said this but it's true, Tucson is lucky to have TC Contracting!

AZ Construction & Renovation installed 200+ ft of baseboards in my house. Best value and service for home projects. They were very reasonably priced and the work was excellent. I will definitely hire them for my other construction needs!
