I contacted B&J Refrigeration based on a recommendation from a neighbor. I requested they examine and service my cooling system and the mini-splits in my condo, given the fact that the previous owners likely never had them serviced.
Technician Trevor Crawford called me prior to his arrival. When he arrived, he explained what he would do and the process he would use. At every step of the process, he kept me informed on the results. During the inspection, Trever located some significant issues. He advised me of the situation and we discussed my repair options.
I decided to move ahead with repairs. After several hours, my system was repaired and serviced. I was extremely pleased with B & J Refrigeration and technician Trevor Crawford. I highly recommend this company for both your service and any necessary repairs of your mini-splits.

We had a new A/C unit, furnace, and thermostat installed today, and we couldn’t be happier! We got bids from five different companies for the job, and I’m so glad we went with this one. Huge shoutout to the team that did this massive job for us in one day — Tony, Robert, and Jesus — you guys were so kind, knowledgeable, and professional, and you did such a great job on everything! This could have been a stressful thing, but you made it so easy from start to finish, and you were all so respectful of us and our home. Recently I had a maintenance checkup on my heat pump. The technician, Gabe, called me to let me know he was on his way which I appreciated. He was polite, knowledgeable and very thorough. He answered all my questions and did not rush to get done with the appointment. I found his service to be professional in every way and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to others.

We had our air conditioning unit serviced this week. Gabe showed up and was kind, professional and courteous and was able to get our a/c back on track. If you have dogs that shed, make sure you get your a/c’s serviced regularly and use B&J!!

B & J Refrigeration just finished a residential installation of two American Standard remote 3-ton 18 SEER air conditioning units with Platinum variable speed compressors and two 80% efficiency, 80,000 BTU input, two-stage furnaces at our house. And, we are very happy with B & J.

First, a little background. We recently purchased a 1970’s 3700 square foot house in Oro Valley. Our home inspection found two HVAC systems, with one system being over 20-years old and the other being close to 18 years old. The units were on their last legs. We began the task of getting estimates from several heating & cooling companies, ultimately getting quotes from five companies. Having had an exceptional experience with B & J on a split system a/c unit is a garage at another home we recently sold, we saved them for last. We should have started with B & J.

The proposals prepared by B & J’s Lawrence were exceptional. He presented three options, providing a good, better, best choice. All three B & J proposals had sufficient, understandable details to facilitate a good platform for decision making. The prices offered some savings over the other company’s proposals. Finally, since we were returning to our summer place, Lawrence helped schedule us so we could keep our promise to our granddaughters when we would see them this spring.

While I was impressed with the before sale experience, I was really, really impressed with the quality of the installation. Martin and Issac, stand up and take a bow. Excellent work, you guys.

Last Christmas eve my furnace went out and B&J sent Josh out to service it. Today the AC went out and again Josh was our serviceman. I cannot say enough good things about this young man. He certainly is an asset to B&J Refrigeration. Josh is courteous, knowledgeable, thorough, informative, and trustworthy. Thank you Josh. Thank you B&J.

We had a very positive experience with B&J Refrigeration a couple of years ago when they installed a system at my daughter’s house. When our air conditioning system died, using B&J again was a no-brainer. Lawrence came out and did a thorough inspection and recommended a system for our house. They were able to install it a few days later. Lawrence, the installers and the office staff at B&J Refrigeration were all great to work with on both occasions. We also recommended them to our next-door neighbor, and she was very impressed with their service as well. We will use B&J for all of our HVAC needs from here on out.

The short version:

We had an absolutely first rate experience with B & J Refrigeration -- twice in the same month.

We were so impressed all around. The communication starting with Tanya in the office, to Nick, Trevor, and Anthony, was outstanding.

The professionalism and simple "caring for the customer" were well beyond our best expectations.

Here's the long version:

We noticed that our house felt too warm and our thermostat was reading higher than our setting. We thought it was a bad thermostat. We called B & J. who had installed the heat pump system for the previous home owners about two years ago.

That afternoon they sent Nick, one of their most experienced technicians. He determined that we had a coil leak. He was able to recharge the system which gave us temporary relief, but we needed a new coil.

The office promptly ordered one and scheduled Nick to install it. Unfortunately, when Nick went to the supplier, they had given it to another company. The folks at B & J immediately ordered another one and had it sent to their own shop to make sure it was there. Then, Nick with an assistant spent a HOT morning installing it and it fixed the problem

But only less than a week later, our cooler just stopped blowing. We called again and they, again, sent Nick over quickly. He determined that we had a bad compressor. They would get right on it.

Unfortunately, there supplier didn't have one and there wasn't one anywhere in Arizona. Anthony in the office called the manufacturer. They didn't have one for immediate delivery and didn't know when they would, but he didn't give up.

First, Anthony send a different technician out to put another set of eyes on it and to see if there was at least a temporary fix. Trevor came over and confirmed Nick's diagnosis.

Then Anthony looked harder. He located the right compressor in Tucson but it had been reserved for another company but it had been on hold for two weeks and not picked up. Somehow, Anthony got them to sell B & J that compressor.

That same day, at one in the afternoon, in 105 degree heat, Trevor came by, installed the new compressor, and we had cool air going in two hours.

Whew!

We are impressed.

Stay away from these guys at all costs! Had them come out for three separate problems on my 3 year old home after the performed the install. 1st visit, water was pooling around air handler, said it was over charged (they installed the system!) 2nd time, A/C was out of Freon and not kicking on. Tech discovered there was a leak but was not successful to find it. Now that I'm out of labor warranty, A/C is leaking from coil. Very convenient.... Stay away from their sloppy craftsmanship!

EDIT - Had another company come out and fix the problem, B&J DID NOT EVEN DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM CORRECTLY! STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE GUYS!!!!

I have bought two mini-splits from B&J. They did an excellent job both times. Most recently they came out and gave me a quote on a Thursday and offered to install the system the next day. That didn't fit my schedule so they came out and installed it the following week. The installation took about four hours.

They came out on a chilly Sunday morning as my heater wasn't
working. He diagnosed the problem and was back Monday afternoon and installed the part and heater repaired. Very hardworking and personable. Highly recommend!
