Great company to sell you on their units and great customer service to new customers...Then as others have reviewed as well, they have no balance on their labor fees. Purchased my unit 7 years ago. Was told we had a 10 year warranty. My AC unit went out, left a message about our issues. Left 2 messages and waited 2 days before I called again, I left a message as a new customer and they returned my call within 20 minutes. They sent a rep to review and told us the issue and how our parts are back ordered and hard to find. Then called back and told us they found parts and the great news is that they are under warranty. Told me that the labor was over $2,500.00 to install the 2 pieces. Not to happy that we have gotten 2 other quotes for less than half that price thinking we needed a whole new motor. Now that we know the issue the labor is less with 2 companies that never installed for us. Poor customer service for their customers and really sad that the company that installed for us has the worst fees then companies that are just doing the repair and ordering of parts. I called to advise them of the disappointment and Elise did not have any empathy and stated because we were returning customers she gave us a 500 dollar discount or it would have been more. Please choose a company that will not want to charge labor as the half price of their AC unit. Do not recommend as I do know other companies in Tucson support the customers that once gave them business. Not the promise Hernan (I think that is the owner) who helped out when making an AC unit decision when we purchased out home advised us on. Purchase from our company and you will get the service you need from a local business that will not take advantage in the long run. That was not true. Sad that we gave out his number and business info so many times in the past.

This company sucks!  they have a bunch of idiots working there.  They had previously  installed  the duct work on a unit I purchased from them.  The temperature in my home would  not cool lower than 84 degrees.  I told them  there was something going on with the duct work.   The first technician  came out and said my home had poor insulation and I should open all the vents and close all the curtains, and did nothing.  The service  manager  came out a few days later and said that the fallen  siding needed to be repaired, and he  hosed down my unit. That was a lie. The company  suggested I get a second  opinion  it could  be an intermediate issue. I hired someone else. The problem  was diagnosed in 10 minutes.  Desert  star used duct work that is designed for indoor attics and such. Not the correct  duct work that is  specialized for outdoor and is also supposed to be suspended.  That cost  me an additional $1500. I  had previously Paid Desert star.  In all this situation cost me $3000.  They told me to send them the invoice.  They are now ghosting me. I will take them  to court.  I GIVE THEM A NEGATIVE 10 STAR! And now they have blocked  me from e mail.

Previous owner had an AC unit installed and in the Desert Star AC service manager's own words, Desert Star AC used substandard materials and poor workmanship to save the customer money (I have the text). Less than after the installation and before the warranty expired, the unit ceased working properly in the hottest part of summer 2023 and the repairman visited three times within three weeks and gave three different reasons for the malfunction, none of which the company was willing to correct. They quoted us a minimum cost of $2000 to build a sheet metal duct that would run inside the home but we hired a repairman from Carpet and Air Duct Cleaning who fixed the entire mess for less than half. The company refused to reimburse us any of the costs because we "didn't give them a chance to correct the problem." We did give them a chance - a whole month while the unit was uninhabitable because of the intense heat - but they would ONLY go with the sheet metal duct that was going to cost me at least $2000 out of pocket. The photo I posted was taken by the man who fixed the problem after the Desert Star AC repairman told us on his third visit that he was 100% sure an obstruction was the problem, but he could not fix it. The repairman from the duct cleaning company I hired came to clean the ducts and took this picture of the real problem, which he then fixed a few days later. Problem solved, but not by Desert Star AC. And no reimbursement or partial reimbursement even though this happened within the warranty window.

He installed both with a very professional, personable and timely performance. He is very knowledgeable and I appreciate his attention to my needs. .

Mike came to replace our old furnace, and he was exceptional. He explained all our options before starting the work. Mike installed everything neatly and tested the new system multiple times. He even walked us through how to use the thermostat efficiently. The difference in comfort is incredible. Mike was friendly, patient, and very professional. We couldn’t have asked for better service!

Discovered a coolant leak. I called Paul and he was at my house within the hour. Checked the coolant level, found no additional coolant was needed. Very reasonable fee for the service call. Would recommend.

I needed a blower motor replaced, and the bigger companies wanted to charge me a ridiculous amount because it was located in the attic. He gave me a very reasonable quote and came the same day, and I was back up running in a couple of hours. They were fast, efficient, and extremely fare in pricing.

AC went out and they came and did the motor replacement within a few hours, same day, on a hot Saturday in summer. Excellent customer service and reasonable price.

When no other companies were available Paul answered our call when our A/C stopped working in 97 degree weather. He showed up within just a couple hours! He was professional, knowledgeable, did honest and affordable work! For now on we will tell everyone in Marana and surrounding area to call Paul and his team. Truly an amazing and quality business we appreciate everything they did for us!

So grateful and so happy to have this team to reach out to as they have been incredibly responsive each time. They performed routine service on our HVAC last year and made some improvements to how things were installed prior to the purchase of our home which were appreciated, but nothing beats our appreciation for today.
Two nights ago, we noticed humming from inside our home, but did not realize it was from the AC, however, by the next day, when our home was not cooling down when it should have, we went and made a call. My husband left a voicemail after 6PM and within a few minutes, we got a call back. We were advised to try a couple of things, and if there was still a problem they would come out first thing the next day (which was this morning). This morning the AC started up normally when they stopped by, and they ran a few diagnostics without anything appearing abnormal, and despite spending time with us, did not charge for this visit. However, we ended up needing to call a little bit later as the cold air stopped blowing and the humming had returned. They came back shortly after the call, quickly diagnosed the problem as a burned motor, and had a replacement motor with them as well. Paul and his team were personable, knowledgeable, and we felt taken care of - THANK YOU!

Paul and his team were the best!! We had been out of AC for a week dealing with another company and home warranty. Paul came out, found the problem and had it back and fixed in a couple hours!!! Completely recommend them to anyone needing their AC fixed!!

Paul was prompt and professional. I didn’t think he would be available but after calling and waiting on others he came within 30 mins and fixed our unit within 30 minutes. He has integrity and didn’t overcharge us like other companies who were about to rip us off. Can’t recommend enough. Paul will be our go to guy.

What an amazing experience.. and that's saying something when your AC goes out in July! Paul was professional and showed up in 15 minutes, found the problem in 10 and had the unit back up and running in 5, total time under 30 min to have my house nice and cool again. It was a fair price and he even quoted me on a new unit so I could prepare for that very soon. If you have AC problems, JUST CALL PAUL! Paul is one of the rare ones out there. It is truly sad how so many heating & cooling companies take advantage of customers nowadays. We were on a maintenance plan with a company, and everything was working just fine until a maintenance visit, and then all the sudden, heat and AC weren't working. Their company came to look and quoted absurd numbers for repairs that weren't even guaranteed to fix the issue. We had another company take a look, who basically suggested that someone must have yanked out equipment that was soldered in (could have only been that original company during the maintenance visit). In order to repair the circuit board, they wanted to charge over $2,000 which costs no more than a couple hundred bucks. Again, that didn't guarantee that it would fix the problem. A friend recommended Paul, and thank goodness for that!! He came in, and right away, I knew he was the guy. He was honest and fair and recognized the lies these other companies put customers through. He inspected everything. Fixed the circuit board right then and there. Figured out it was a motor issue. Replaced and fixed for a fair price. He communicated well throughout the whole process. He's truly someone who knows what he's doing and cares. I'd go back to him every time and will recommend him to everyone.

The fact that they work on sundays is a lifesaver... twice. My 20ish year old unit had been working perfectly until... it wasn't. Manuel came down promptly both times and immediately diagnosed the issues. Luckily, each time he had spare parts to fix it on the spot. He was very knowledgeable and imparted that knowledge on me as I inquired while he worked. He stuck around to monitor the unit and make sure nothing else seemed off prior to his departures.

Life may be meaningless, but calling Air solutions Heating & Cooling, LLC is not if you need your AC fixed.
