We had a double tree fall on our business shop about noon after the high winds on 4/5. Capital City Tree Service was there as soon as it quit raining and within a few hours had the trees off the building, cut up and hauled off. They had equipment to handle the job and the men knew what they were doing and how to take care of everything. Could not be more pleased.

The Crew showed up on time and were very professional. This was the second time I used them. They were here about five hours and worked the whole time. They answered my questions and did everything I ask them to do. They were careful to not disturb my lawn anymore than they had to. They cleaned up the smaller limbs and debris before the left and even blew the wood chips off my neighbors roof as well as mine. I was in construction for forty years and have been around a lot of machines and machine operators these guys knew what they were doing. I have no trouble recommending them to anyone as well as family and friends. Five stars in my opinion.

They were fast, efficient and cleaned up everything before leaving and The yard didn’t get tore up either. They went above and beyond to make sure it was to my approval.

Matt and crew are nothing but a first class operation. From the time I first called they did everything they said they would do and more.

I cannot imagine a more efficient and professional tree service! We were worried we would need to take one of our favorite trees down due to some fungus in the root crown. Matt came by and looked at it with us, and told us that tree we were worried about will be safe to stay up for many more years, but he noticed a few other dead branches on our property. They scheduled with us quickly to trim those branches, then rescheduled us quickly with prompt communication when rescheduling was necessary. They arrived on time. The crew and machinery was ample to get the job done quickly. Every member of the crew that I interacted with was a consummate professional, even going above and beyond to ensure our property was left better than they found it and warmly responding to my multiple on-site requests for clarification on which branches were coming down. My young kids said they were “so kind” and loved watching them work. Can’t recommend enough!

I don't write reviews. However, this business went above and beyond and deserves to be acknowledged. I needed an Oak Tree cut back, trimmed and shaped in the front yard and also 4 tree's removed from the backyard. My company sent me out of town and I was unable to be there when they arrived. Matt and his team did a tremendous job, not only of taking care of us, but my wife said they laid particle board down in the back yard as they were removing the trees as not to damage yard. Came with a Bucket truck. Showed up On Time, Fair Price and Excellent service. Highly Recommend.. thank you Matt and Team.

Had a miscommunication between the boss and crew on what style cut was to be done. Matt was very apologetic and honest about the mistake and sent his crew back out the very next day and fixed the issue. Very professional.

Matt and his team did a wonderful job safely and efficiently removing five trees from our backyard - one of which was quite large and the other was in a tricky location and required specialty equipment.
Matt visited with me several times before and after the tree removal/stump grinding and has gone above and beyond to ensure all jobs were done thoroughly and with care.

Had a tree fall on my house in the recent storms and called out Ace Tree Service. Very prompt and got the job done very quickly. Would recommend highly!!

Ace came and trimmed some large trees that were hanging over our extremely steep roof. Really great work, very professional and would highly recommend.

Never communicated when they were coming over, or what needed to be done. Cut our AT&T fiber line and didn't tell us, just rolled up the line and left it by the side of our house.

Ace Tree service has taken down about 10 trees for me and some were large pine trees close to the house. They provide great service at a fair price and clearly have many years of experience.

Had a good size tree removed that had fallen onto electrical wires and the roof. Ace was able to clear all the debris without interruption of power. Definitely will use them again.

My husband and I used Greg's team to remove a dead tree from our yard. I will give them credit for dropping the tree without catastrophic damage. However, they put a hole through a few fence panels that were "repaired" with ill-fitting boards, and they also put a hole in our roof with a completely inadequate repair. I was then told to "give him a break" when I told him the repair was not sufficient. Following that, I was lectured about how dead my tree was. If they didn't want to take on the job, they did not have to accept. If we ever need another tree taken down we will taking our business elsewhere.

Greg and his crew member did a great job! They fell trees with precision and care that were close to the house and to peach trees that we didn't want damaged. I highly recommend these guys! Great price too! We will be calling Ace again for our future tree trimming needs.

Since my original review, posted right after the incident, was deleted, I feel it’s necessary to repost my experience with Greg Owen for the sake of transparency.

I hired this contractor for tree removal on April 17, 2025, after being referred by a neighbor. I paid a $1,500 deposit up front in good faith. That decision turned into months of stress, unanswered messages, and unresolved damage.

While the tree was removed, multiple critical parts of the job were not completed. The promised cleanup never happened. During the work, a shared chain-link fence between my property and my neighbor’s was heavily damaged, far beyond any minor pre-existing issues. My roof also sustained damage that was not present beforehand.

What made this situation worse was the complete lack of professionalism afterward. When I reached out respectfully to address the issues and request resolution, communication stopped. When responses did come, they were hostile and intimidating, including statements like “this isn’t over.” That is not an acceptable way to handle a customer who is simply asking for accountability.

I also had to draft the contract myself, which should have been a red flag from the beginning. I did so only because the contractor appeared unfamiliar with basic safety and arborist standards, and I was trying to protect both my property and everyone involved. In hindsight, that should have told me everything I needed to know.

As of December 2025, the deposit has not been returned, the damage has not been repaired, and there has been no meaningful attempt to resolve the situation. I later learned that other nearby neighbors experienced similar issues, which suggests this was not an isolated incident.

If you are considering hiring this person:
– Get everything in writing
– Take before-and-after photos
– Do not pay a large deposit
– Be prepared to chase them afterward

I cannot recommend these services under any circumstances. What should have been a straightforward job turned into a prolonged, stressful ordeal that no homeowner should have to deal with.
