I had my water heater and radiant floor heating system serviced by Mniska. He is fantastic. He took time to explain all the different component of my system and what maybe the issues. In the end I went with an upgrade to my system and he was able to install it in a very timely fashion and everything works well. I highly recommend him.

Afterglow Heating recently installed radiant heat in my 1921 bungalow, and I couldn't be happier with the results. We decided to make the switch because my son has struggled with allergies from our old forced-air system. Since installing radiant heat, his allergies have significantly improved — it's been a game-changer for our home comfort and his health. I was originally concerned that radiant heat couldn’t be installed in our home because of the old wood flooring, but Mniska made the process seem easy and stress-free. Everything went smoothly and we LOVE the end result.

Mniska was incredibly professional and knowledgeable. He took the time to inspect our crawlspace — which had never received attention — and found it filled with debris. Not only did he clean it out, but he also laid down plastic to prevent moisture buildup. It was such a thoughtful extra step that showed his attention to detail.

Mniska gave me a clear, accurate estimate for all work, including the installation of an automatic gas shut-off valve on my house gas line, which shuts off in case of earthquake, along with a tutorial on how to use and/or reset it.
He also performed a major seasonal flush of my on-demand water heater, as well as several minor deferred maintenance faucet-related fixes.

Mniska is fantastic! He come over right away when our hot water went out and ended up having to install a whole new boiler the next day. It was a long day, but he stayed until evening to be sure we had hot water that night. He also left a carbon monoxide tester just to be sure, since our fire alarm went off randomly. There was absolutely no problem and his customer service and attention to detail were amazing! 100% reccomend!

We had an excellent experience with Afterglow for our recent water heater installation. Mniska, was incredibly responsive and communicative from start to finish. He clearly walked us through our options, provided a quote for repairing the existing unit as well as multiple replacement options, explaining the pros and cons of each and answering our one million questions so we could make an informed decision. The installation itself was pretty quick as he was able to schedule us in sooner than promised. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone needing a new water heater!

Mniska came to our rescue fast and did a thorough investigation of our failing boiler. He was able to fix all of the problems as well as a shower arm issue we were having. Mniska, the owner, did an after-hours emergency repair of my leaking toilet, working efficiently and explaining along the way what he was doing. He even included a part for which he didn’t charge me. He is very knowledgeable with extensive experience in plumbing, heating, and construction. I plan to call him when I’m ready to replace my bathroom sink. He’s a winner!

He was able to increase our fans output from 89 to 96.5 which for an old, original less than optimal
System had us very pleased with the outcome.

Mniska, the owner of Afterglow, originally helped install an entire hydronic radiant floor heating 12 years ago. I found him to be highly knowledgeable, honest, hardworking and professional…. And just a really kind human being on top of all that. I recently needed some work as I had put off all maintenance for those twelve years (I was too cozy with my warm floors!) and was so happy to find that he was still in the Bay Area. He could suss out the issues quickly and provided different options and routes to fix the issue/upgrade the system to fit different budget and timing scenarios. Highly recommend!

We first worked with Mniska Lamb 10 years ago when he was closely involved in the installation of our water heater and radiant heating system, a system that has worked beautifully for us over the years.
Recently he saved the day for us through an emergency repair of our water heater when we had a house full of guests needing hot water! Although he already had a full day scheduled, he want the extra mile to fit us in, including driving across town to procure a hard-to-find part and staying until 8 pm to make sure things were properly running again!

Afterglow Heating did a phenomenal job of replacing and upgrading my boiler system. It’s not your typical heating unit, it’s a hydronic radiant heating system, but Mniska knew exactly what was needed. He was able to come out immediately and assess, clearly explaining what my options were. They worked long hours to get my hot water and heating back online as quickly as possible, and in just 2 days, I was all set and warm again. I really appreciated the time he took to determine my needs, and to explain every step. Especially the last parts where we tested all the elements on the Viessmann unit, made sure everything was connected and working properly. (Photo note: all those shiny copper pipes did get jackets to insulate them, I just loved the way they looked before it was done) I would not hesitate at all to recommend Afterglow!

We highly recommend the services of Mniska Lamb at AfterGlow Plumbing & Heating systems. We had a carbon monoxide situation a few months ago and called on Mniska to investigate and correct the problem as well as update our aging hydronic heating system. Mniska did an excellent job and, over the past few months, we've been enjoying our updated heating system. Heating can now be programmed in separate areas of the house which is wonderful because the rooms where we spend the most time are heated without having to heat the entire house. The system is now tankless (see picture) so we don't have a huge water tank sitting in our small utility room. Mniska impressed us with his attention to detail, neatness and cleanliness in all aspects of his work. An excellent communicator, he responded promptly to all of our questions via text and/or phone, even after hours. Mniska is extremely knowledgeable and kept us informed of what he was doing and why. He did everything he could to minimize any disruption of service during the course of the project. We trust Mniska and would absolutely hire him for any future heating needs.

There are not many heating specialists knowledgeable of the complicated hydronic systems in our area, so we were very happy to have come across someone who was able to diagnose the problems we were having and come up,with the best options for repairing it. We are very happy with the work he did for us. The cost was reasonable and he kept us informed throughout the process. It ended up taking longer than we anticipated due the complicated nature of our system, but Minsk’s made sure to clear his schedule so that everything would be done in a timely manner and we could have both hot water and heating back! A1 Sun just finished the installation of my solar system--9 panels and 3 batteries. I was in a rush last year to put a new roof on my house and A1 Sun worked with my roofer to get the solar system mounts/brackets installed before the new roof went down. That was VERY important to me. Then they finished up the rest of the system as soon as they could, which was this summer. They took care of dealing with my county building and fire department for all permits (my batteries are mounted outside so it was not a typical design). The entire crew is very professional and everything went smoothly. I couldn't be happier with my system.

I had a VERY complex design and installation project, requiring careful and consistent long term scheduling and coordination under various tight PGE deadlines. A1 Sun came through with flying colors. Could I have found some fly by night discounter with a lower quote? Possibly, but I would have been nuts to pass up the true value that A1 Sun delivered, and it's a good feeling to support such a dedicated local enterprise.
