Called today to have an electrician out to replace a bathroom vent fan with one that had a heater and lights. Right away received resistance from a ‘Mary’ with I would need a 20-30 amp dedicated line and it would cost $2,500 alone for the line. Didn’t sound like she cared to know the unit I’m replacing with required a 10-amp dedicated line and without seeing my electrical footprint dismissively quoted $2,509 right away. I currently have a ship being put up and wanted to ask this company for an electrical quote in that as well but being put down from the get go forget that, I live in BVS and if you’re thinking of doing business with this company try Tehachapi Electric, they took care of me for $620.00.

I was having electrical problems with a couple circuits and my mother's mobile home so I called and made an appointment to McGraw electrical the night before . I was given a morning appointment John showed up with his helper on time, went right to work and fixed the problem within an hour , he had the parts he needed with him was very professional and clean, presented me with a very fair bill at the end of the job and I would highly recommend him to anyone needing any kind of electrical service. I will definitely call him again if needed. Thank you, McGraw electrical

From the reviews I read, to the call I made to Merryjayne, to the fast dispatch of a very qualified electrician, to his quick diagnosis and repair caused by Sunrun's incomopetence, to their actual care of my situation, to their actual care as most companies used to be, the overall experience was top notch and is how all businesses should be run. I returned from out of town one weekend to find my refrigerator had lost power during an outage. I tried resetting the breaker myself without success and called McCraw Electric for an emergency weekend consultation. Instead of charging an exorbitant after-hours fee, the electrician had me send a photo of my breaker box, quickly identified the issue, and talked me through the proper way to reset it. The problem was resolved within minutes.

They were far more concerned with a satisfactory resolution than with capitalizing on my misfortune. True professionals with great integrity. McCraw Electric will be my first call in the future.

We can’t say enough about the incredible service we received from John McCraw and his team. From start to finish, they made sure we were taken care of after discovering that our solar installation had been botched by another company.

We were shocked to learn that our home wasn’t even grounded due to the poor workmanship of the previous installer. When that company failed to respond, John McCraw himself showed up at our home and immediately made sure our family and house were safe by grounding the system properly.

What followed was a nightmare of failed city inspections and hidden issues but John McCraw Electric stood by us every step of the way. They repaired and replaced our MPU panel, ensured the project met inspection standards, and handled everything with professionalism and care. John, the owner, personally oversaw the process from beginning to end.

Special thanks to MerryJane, who is an absolute gem she managed the business side with kindness and efficiency, making sure crews were scheduled quickly and the work got done. Kevin and the crew were punctual, thorough, and detailed in their work.

There truly aren’t enough words to express our gratitude. I called John McCraw Electric this morning concerning a faulty outlet in the master bathroom. MerryJayne was able to assist me in directing me to the proper location to remedy my issue. Typical dirty beat up plumbing warehouse set up with a counter mainly focused on serving their loyal group of local Pro plumbers . As a capable DIY guy, I'll sometimes choose a place like this to pick up specialty items I would not be likely to find in a big box store. Their expertise is a plus, their attitude rarely is. In this case, I needed a new cartridge for a leaky Delta shower head. They are sold on ebay and Amazon for around $35.00 but I wanted the convenience of fixing my problem the same day and thought I'd be less likely to wind up with the wrong part. They found the part right away and the kid processed me quickly. The owner peeked out of his office and I checked with him about whether it would be a good idea to grease the seals lightly during installation. He indicated that a small amount of vaseline was a good idea... I paid around $70.00. Full retail markup for the convenience and advice.

After getting home, I opened the bag it was sold in and noticed that this was obviously a part that had been returned in the past. The bag was beat up and the top had been restapled. No biggie, I thought, someone probably bought the wrong part and returned it. I spent a little bit of time inspecting it and noticed one seal ring had a slit in it that went about 90% of the way through the seal. Ah ha! Now I know why it was previously returned. I choose to give them the benefit of the doubt because the cut was hard to see and drive all the way back for an exchange.

The way I was treated on my second visit, you'd have thought I stole candy from their child. I pointed out the slit to a different guy at the counter and he called the owner out of his office. This guy comes out yelling "I thought I told you to grease the seals before installing it!" He was trying to flip blame on me for his bad part. I found myself on the defensive pointing out that I hadn't even tried to install it yet... "look, it isn't wet or scratched and the seal cut isn't what would normally happen from a dry jam install attempt anyway." And what about the obvious fact that this part had been returned before? He dismissed me, grabbed another part and demanded that I inspect it in front of him before leaving "because you ain't getting another one if this one is bad..." I should have told him to shove it and give me a refund but the part looked fine and I didn't want to drive another 30 miles to the next warehouse so I agreed to his terms and finished the job. To be fair, the cartridge does not leak.

Places like this are not DIY friendly, they act like selling to us (at grossly inflated prices) is taking food out of the mouths of the kids of their loyal pro customer base. One of his pro plumbers would have charged me $700.00 to fix my shower. I fixed it for $70.00 and an argument. I am still annoyed enough the next day to take the time to write this post.
