This guy’s been doing our yearly furnace checkup for three years now. He always shows up when he says he will, checks everything thoroughly, and gives honest advice. It’s that kind of consistency that keeps things running smoothly when it really counts.

They did better than I expected. The air conditioner repair was handled properly, and the technician clearly knew what he was doing. The whole process went smoothly and without any stress. Thank you.

I decided to try out their services for a furnace repair after my friend’s recommendation. They definitely live up to standards and were quick to spot and solve the issue.

After hearing unusual sounds, I arranged a furnace repair. The technician found the source quickly and gave a clear explanation. The heat returned to normal after the visit.

I’m not sure why I am receiving a ton of text alerts and emails to write a review five months after the service, but it is slightly annoying. Here we go anyway.

The service was fine. He was nice and courteous able to come out to our house within a couple day and repair our run capacitor. I was just a bit taken back when I did some research online after I received the bill. The total amount of service charge was $326 to replace an at most $50 run capacitor part that took less than 30 minutes from start to finish. Im fine with the $98 charge for coming out for a service call, but charging $265 for a part that is significantly less than that is little much. Personally, I’m kicking myself for not doing more research myself and figuring it out in my own.

All in all, good service, but pricey.

I contacted Coastal Refrigeration Heating & Air Conditioning late June because my Air conditioners (upstairs and downstairs units) are not working. Both units were low in refrigerant as diagnosed by ASI whom came to tune-up the systems. The tune-up technician from ASI informed me that he suspected a leak somewhere.

So, I got estimates from both ASI and Coastal. Long and behold, both companies have similar quotes for similar systems. Both advised us to replace both Cooling and Heating system.

Seth, the owner of Coastal Refrigeration Heating & Air Conditioning, has repaired my A.C. (downstairs unit) before, and at the time he warned us that the system might have a slow leak and eventually we will need to replace the system. We knew the risk then and wasn’t ready to spend the money yet! Since our heating system was installed in 2003, we decided to it’s time for us to get our systems replaced now.

In addition the the comparable pricing, they maintained high quality of work! We are still in the COVID-19 pandemic situation, Seth and the team followed the guidelines in this extremely warm weather. In addition, they prepared the work area so that the floor and rooms were protected. They handled everything, from getting the permit to installation to hauling the old equipment out. Everything was done professionally, and with great care! The testing of equipment was time consuming and they were so patient explaining all the details and ensure the system is working properly!

We are still waiting for ‘hers testing’ and Carlsbad city approval. Yet, in this extreme weather having a working A.C. makes life much more comfortable!.

In summary, Coastal Refrigeration Heating & Air Conditioning was very professional, and Custermer focused. I recommend them highly!

Coastal was super responsive to our request and came out to work on our HVAC without delay. Coastal fixed our issue, explained the cause, and explained how to mitigate future problems. Coastal also inspected our system and gave insight to what we might expect in the future. Seth and crew are respectful, courteous, clean, prompt, and communicative. They will be our HVAC specialists.

Seth from Coastal Refrigeration showed up when promised. He completed the work that he and I discussed on the phone - for the price quoted. I'm very happy to have chosen Seth for this project and would use Coastal Refrigeration again!

I am a DIY type of guy and when my display controller from Chinese made VENSTAR lost its display, I ordered from them as third party on Amazon and plugged in replacement. The Display worked but I could not get it to run my blower. I followed all the instructions but could not get it to advanced screen so concerned my blower was bad or I did not program controller correctly called 5 companies and only coastal called promptly and we exchanged tech info by text. Came over first thing Monday morning to diagnosis the system and my blower was fine but he confirmed the replacement controller was defective and installed a commercial controller that better met my system and everything was done within an hour at a reasonable price without any attempt to hit me up for extra sales. I will use this small business again.

Seth gave his professional assessment of the situation…. Explains what is wrong with my AC..gets it running again ( thank goodness )…..but in near future I will have to cave in and get a new unit.
I do appreciate his coming so soon to repair the unit.

I have been using Coastal Refrigeration for 2 years now. In 2019, Seth installed a new A/C and furnace for me. On the evening of July 4th, of course a holiday, I noticed water leaking from under the unit when I had my a/c turned on. It had been leaking for a while but I didn’t notice it. I contacted Seth online via his website since it was a holiday. He called me the morning of the 5th to ask more details of the problem. He said he couldn’t come out until Wednesday the 7th, which was fine with me. However, to my surprise, he called me on the morning of the 6th to say he could come out that day instead if I wanted him to. He was here within the hour. The problem was a clogged drain line under the house that he was able to clear. Seth at Coastal Refrigeration gets 5 stars from me! I will definitely continue to use them and will recommend them highly to anyone needing heating or air conditioning repairs or service. Extremely responsive and beyond impressive customer service!

These guys are really knowledgeable and do top notch work. Very friendly and reasonably priced. When others wouldn't come until at least a week later they were willing to come out and they truly understand properly done permitted work.

Coastal did a great job in the demolition and new installation of my furnace on the second floor. Seth and crew were meticulous and clean when working inside my home. I highly recommend this company.

We have found our heating-furnace repair guys. We have a very old furnace and Seth and son could have talked us into trying to buy another one, but they did not. He just fixed the old one. We do know that with an old furnace we are going to someday in the not to distant future need it to be replaced either with another furnace or an AC/heating HVAC unit.
