Plumbing reviews in Carlsbad, California

Dr. Piper installed new copper pipes for my entire house. We have 2 kids under four so they made sure we always had running water during the install and were always on time and very clean and conscientious about our family’s needs. They were very communicative through the entire process and we never had to guess about timeline or question what step was next. Peter is a top notch account rep and the workers were craftsman having to weld and bend and maneuver the Copper piping throughout. Very rare that a plumbing company also patched and painted wherever they had to punch a hole. Truly top notch and so fortunate we only had to go to one vendor for the new install, patch and paint.
I can’t say enough wonderful things about Dr Piper, Peter and the team! -
Overall great experience. Peter came in and quoted my job within 12 hours of walking the property. His knowledge and easy going demeanor made making a decision easy... no pressure at all from Doctor Piper. The installers, Rudy and Alex, arrived on a Tuesday and worked day/night to get completed by Friday afternoon. They were thorough and professional, and exceeded expectations with the finished product. Highly recommend Doctor Piper for all of your re-piping needs.

We had a slab leak in the middle of our kitchen remodel. I received several quotes for PEX repiping from a couple of plumbers and one repiping company. One was super expensive, the other was very reasonable but did not include the sheetrock repair, the repiping company was unavailable. In the end, it would have been the same price or more had I used the cheaper quote. I checked Dr. Piper's reviews and found they had perfect reviews. I called and was immediately scheduled for an appraisal. They started work a couple of days later and I was immediately pleased with the quality of work. I am not exaggerating, Jorge and Todor, really knew repiping and worked very hard even through a middle of a heat wave. They even found a couple of mistakes another plumber made on my tankless water heater install and fixed it. We now feel secure with the plumbing and know that we will never ever again have to endure a slab leak. the guys repaired the several holes made in the walls and ceilings that were necessary for the repipe. I've had other professionals repair sheetrock and I could always tell where the repairs were made. I understand it is very hard to match texture but Jorge and Todor's sheetrock repair was the best I've seen. This company uses quality PEX and plumbing materials and Jorge explained the difference in PEX that other companies often use to save money. Everyone was responsive and professional, Peter who conducted the estimate, Radi who managed the plumbing team and like I earlier mentioned, Jorge and Todor.I highly recommend this company.

This is the company you want to do your repipe. Peter was very clear and professional when writing the estimate. He broke out the cost for optional work and sent a simple and easy to understand quote. Peter arranged city permit and inspections and all went to plan. Rudy and Alex showed up to do the work. They were on time, friendly and very skilled at their work. They worked clean and were very considerate making sure we had water every night before they left. They did great drywall patching and everything is ready for paint. It is nerve wracking to contract for a job this big but the Dr. Piper team did a great job for me.

We recently had a Navien tankless water heater installed at our single-family home in Venice, and I can’t recommend Dr. Piper Plumbing—and especially Mladen—highly enough.
From the start, Mladen was incredibly responsive and helpful. He walked us through multiple model options, explained the pros and cons clearly, and didn’t push us in any direction. On installation day, we ended up switching to a smaller unit last-minute, and he handled it without missing a beat—just made it happen.
The turnaround time was unbelievable: we got the estimate late at night and the unit was installed the very next day. Mladen had everything installed and up and running in under four hours. Not only that, he took the time to explain the full setup to me—why certain design choices made sense, what to keep an eye on in the future, and how to get the most out of the system.
After speaking with several companies, this was hands-down the best experience. If you need a tankless water heater installed, Mladen is your guy. I’ll absolutely be calling him again if we ever need help with the system. -
Couldn’t be more satisfied!
A slab leak prompted the need for redoing our hot and cold water pipes. We had 3 companies bid the job. $15,000, $14,000, and $8800 were their bids. After talking with each to determine how long our house would be torn up and where the walls and ceiling would need to be repaired, we chose Doctor Piper the lowest bidder. We didn’t choose them because they were the least expensive. We choose them because they were the most impressive. They said they would start on a Monday and be done on that Friday. They had it all re-piped and the water back on by Tuesday afternoon. They repaired all the drywall and textured it to match perfectly. All we needed to do is paint!
They did the most professional job of any contractor we’ve ever worked with.
We couldn’t be happier. -
Excellent service. Would recommend Dr Piper in a heartbeat. Peter is responsive, straightforward, honest, and competitive on pricing. Dr Piper handled all inspections/permits. Our plumbing reroute and tankless installation was handled professionally, quicker than estimated; the work done by Rudy, Oleg, and Alex was very high quality. We'll call Dr Piper again for any job.

I highly recommend Doctor Piper, we were completely satisfied with the service provided. We had a slab leak and had multiple companies come out to propose their capabilities and provide estimates. We were not familiar with this type of repair, the important choices to be made (type of pipe... pex vs copper and grading of each, etc), and we were nervous paying this large expense and having people in our house for a week doing the repairs. We chose Doctor Piper because they were straightforward, honest, explained everything clearly, and their price was competitive. The two men that did the work, Rudy and Alex, were absolutely professional, hard working, quality focused, nice, respectful of our home, and did an overall fantastic job. They were careful to prepare the house to contain any mess, they thought through the best path for the piping to ensure minimal opening of walls and ceiling, explained what they were doing and why, they do their own drywall repair and texturing to match the existing texture of the wall. They also managed permits with the town which we requested. Thank you Rudy, Alex, and Peter for the great work. I am confident we will not have to go through this experience again at this house.

EXCELLENCE! From start to finish... these are the most efficient, reliable, professional, communicative, kind and respectful people I've worked with. Peter was my go to guy and he is the best!
Don't call anywhere, anyone else...Doctor Piper, Peter is the company, man for the job(s)! -
After discovering a slab leak in our older home, we decided to do a whole house copper re-pipe rather than wait for more issues to surface in a temporary reroute. Based on 4 bids, we narrowed it down to 2 well-reviewed companies that 2 of our friends recommended. We had a really wonderful experience with Dr. Piper! Peter was a very kind man as well as prompt in visiting our property and getting back to us with a very reasonable estimate and no sales pressure. Rudy and Alex were scheduled the very next week. Our home had a tricky roof configuration, and they creatively found a solution. They were super friendly, very hard-working, carefully covered work areas, asked us if we had certain preferences, and did excellent work with quality materials. Not only did they have an inspector check their work, but they included the patching/resurfacing of all the drywall, whereas other companies either didn't offer this at all or charged excessively to add it to the project. I just had to repaint afterwards, and found their drywall work was excellent. They initially estimated the entire project would take 5 days, but were finished in 3 days without cutting corners or sloppy work. What we most appreciated about Dr. Piper was the kind of people they were. Very reasonable estimate and professional work. I would not hesitate at all to recommend them.

Repiping can be a scary proposition for the homeowner. I went with Dr. Piper after researching a number of vendors based on their experience in this complex art and the service ethic of their manager, Mladen (not to mention, the quote was very competitive). It's not a simple process, so be prepared for a few days of disruption in your home. But Mladen and his crew's skill and hard work made it easier to handle. And Mladen's support and willingness to go above and beyond was a big point of difference. It's a big investment, but now we have better water pressure, no more leaky pipes and a clean/well thought out piping system.

Doctor Piper was fantastic to work with. We had a failed copper pipe that caused some major damage throughout a bathroom and our garage, and we opted to have the house repiped rather than risk another imminent copper pipe failure. They worked with our schedule to start the job and what other places estimated over a week to perform, Doctor Piper did in less than a week. The PM Rudy was incredible--hard working and patient with all our questions, and we were impressed by the whole operation. We will be recommending Doctor Piper to our neighbors if/when their pipes fail.

What an incredible company! I've used Dr. Piper's services multiple times (tankless water heater install, whole house re-pipe and a whole house water filter installation) and will continue to do so in the future! Here are the reasons why I like them:
1. Very polite and friendly (with the occasional corky sense of humor :D ).
2. The quality of work is amazing and the prices they've given me so far were very competitive.
3. Always on time and really accommodating when it comes to my schedule
4. Honest and really cater to your needs. They do not try to sell you work that you do not need. (which is a major problem that I've experienced with other companies) -
Mladen installed a new tankless water heater for our house. True professional, and very knowledgeable. I would use his services again and I highly recommend him.

We hired Dr. Piper for a whole-home repipe after experiencing a slab leak. Peter was the first person to walk our property, coming out on a Saturday to assess the issue. He, Radi, and George returned several more times before we even officially hired them as we changed our plans and discussed options. George and his partner did the repipe and drywall. They also replaced a bathtub drain and capped an outside supply line without question. Their work was meticulous, and their drywall patches are virtually unidentifiable in the final product. Everyone from start to finish showed up when promised. We can easily recommend Dr. Piper for anyone needing repipe services.

We had our regular plumber come out to troubleshoot a leak coming from the ceiling in our half bathroom. He cut out 14" of the copper pipe that had a pinhole leak with spots of corrosion on the inside of the pipe. He took photos of other pipes in the attic and said many of the pipes had deteriorated and we would continue to have leaks. He suggested that we consider repiping our house. Our house is 51 years old with "M" grade copper pipe that usually lasts 50 years. He said that our house would look like Swiss cheese when the repipe was done and that we would also need a drywall person to finish the job.
After doing some research we found out that there are plumbers who specialize in repiping. We read reviews on Yelp and had 5 companies to consider. We ended up contracting with Dr. Piper for a number of reasons.
We had a consultation with Peter and found him to be very honest, even to the point of advising us to "do your homework" on the company that we chose.
Peter told us that Dr. Piper does all of their contracted work; they never subcontract any of their repiping. He cautioned us about any company that recommended a PEX system because it is more economical.
Peter told us about the pros and cons of a PEX repipe, which is what we thought we could afford. Because most of our plumbing pipes are in the attic he said there could be the risk of rodents getting in to chew through the PEX to get to water.
We then realized that PEX was not an option for us and we were dreading the price tag on a repipe with copper. Peter told us it might be an additional $2000 to have copper instead of PEX. We had been told by another company that copper could be twice the cost of PEX, totaling $20,000!
There was no question that we would go with a copper repipe with the higher quality "L" grade copper. We now have peace of mind that we won't have continual leaks, and we have added value to our home when it is sold.
We have a slump stone brick house and Peter pointed out that it could be problematic to repipe the kitchen without having to demo some of the brick and possibly have a pipe on the outside of our house.
Todor, Dr. Piper's main plumber for our repiping job, was able to figure out how the original plumbing was installed in the kitchen through existing openings in the brick. Todor, and the owner, Radi, worked extremely hard in dealing with the challenges they encountered with the kitchen repipe.
Our repipe took a full 5 days, due to the complexity of dealing with our brick house. Todor came back the next day to patch and plaster all the drywall. He did an excellent job with the drywall, making it ready to be painted.
The following evening we noticed that we had low pressure in both of our showers and that one shower had the hot and cold water on the reverse sides. We texted Peter, and he asked if Todor could come over to check it out. We were happy that he didn't mind coming over after hours to assess the situation. Within minutes Todor was able to increase the water pressure in the house. He took the cover off the handle in the shower and switched the hot and cold to the correct positions. This is customer service that goes above and beyond.
Todor was punctual, arriving everyday by 8:30. He always told us what he would be working on that day and what he would accomplish by the end of the day. There were no surprises, and he was very respectful of us and our home.
My husband and I feel like we have learned so much about the plumbing in our house thanks to Todor, Peter and Radi. So, like Peter told us, do your homework, and if you do, I believe that you will come to the same conclusion that we did. Dr. Piper is simply the best. -
Peter(manager), Rudy and Alex(repipe experts) did an amazing whole house repipe in my house for less than 4 days from A to Z. I got 4 quotes and theirs was the most complete and affordable one(city inspection & permit included, everything meets code). I highly recommend Dr. Piper repipe service to everyone who needs the repipe service. Their craftsmanship is beyond outstanding, I would like to give them 10 stars if I could. most important thing: they DO NOT use subcontractors to do any jobs.

We had a truly pleasant experience working with Malden through Dr. Piper. Their quote was not only the most affordable, but they were also able to complete the job the quickest. We had a few minor requests along the way that other companies wanted to charge hundreds of dollars extra for, but Malden honored their original quote without any hassle. The work was done smoothly and professionally, with no fuss at all. Their communication was outstanding from start to finish. They were always accommodating, patient, and happy to answer our questions. Any time we reached out, they were extremely responsive and helpful. Overall, we couldn’t be more satisfied and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable and honest service.
-
We had to re-plumb our entire house due to mulitple leaks and Dr Piper's crew was outstanding. Fast, effecient, friendly and neat. Malden was excellent at explaining everything they were doing and how long it would take. They made it so we were able to function in our home for the 4 days it took to re-plumb. I would highly recommend their company and pricing was fair for the extensive job they did. Thank you!

Hunter of HDPlumbers installed a new water heater, a new hose bib, and two faucet sets with associated shut off valves in our forty-four year old house. Everything seems to be working well…we’re very satisfied with his work and professionalism.

Great service and value. I highly recommend HDPlumbers for your plumbing needs. Hunter addressed issues with my water heater and did a top notch job. He also installed angle stops throughout my home. Friendly, professional and competent. Will recommend him to others for sure!
