Our A/C had a minor issue that created an error on the thermostat control panel. The technician that came out, Christopher, was so incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. He very clearly explained to us where the issue was and what was causing it. He not only fixed this issue, but made sure the unit was fully functional hereafter with several additional tests, allowing us to move forward with the ease of mind that this issue was finally resolved. (He was also very pleasant to chat with and great with dogs!)

Service Genius Air Conditioning and Heating provided excellent service for my home's heating and cooling overhaul. Professional, knowledgeable team, smooth installation, and noticeable improvement in comfort and energy efficiency. Highly recommend!

Something has changed. They used to be excellent, but recently they’ve had to come out 3 times to rectify their mistakes, and now the error that they said was fixed yesterday isn’t fixed. So I’ll have to call someone else, since I have no heat or air on the system they said they fixed yesterday (at no charge because it was their mistake). Update: someone from Service Genius did come out yesterday, but the person that came was incredibly disrespectful, which is a first, and he didn’t fix the issue, even though he said he couldn’t find anything wrong, and today it did the same thing. (Not the new system, I have two). Turned out the person who came and was so rude disconnected something which is why my old unit didn’t work.

Service genius technician, Eduardo serviced my tankless Waterheater. He arrived on time, was very polite explaining what was to be done. He was neat, thorough and worked quickly. He recommended a service program to avoid future problems.

All these five stars reviews make me feel like I’m in the twilight zone. I’m glad others have had positive experience, but it makes me confused why mine has been overwhelmingly negative. It’s been over a month and they still haven’t figured it out yet. Even in LA, being without heat for over a month in winter is rough. The bandaid options/workarounds for warmth aren’t enough and I’m pretty sure I’m currently sick because of being constantly cold for an almost two week period. Not only are they not fixing the issues, but they keep making things worse by creating new damage. In the area near where they’ve been accessing the HVAC they’ve damaged the wall, floorboard, nearest door, and door frame in addition to leaving an unseemly gap by cutting too big of a hole for an air filter. There has been no gameplan shared with me yet for fixing this. They also convinced my landlord that my small one bedroom unit needed an industrial strength unit that sounds like an airplane taking off (there’s no way you can listen to music or watch a movie when this thing is on). This past Saturday they said it was all good to go, then after they left it wouldn’t turn on, and then it randomly turned on two days later, but even though it was on, it wasn’t working correctly. The lack of technical ability is bad enough, but the professional conduct of their crew might be even worse (some have been cool though). One time after I thought they left, they walked in on me changing because they entered without knocking. Another time I told them I was going into the other room to change and one of their workers kept staring at me and I had to tell them to stop. They keep leavings my only outside door open, letting in flies and mosquitoes (I’m already sleeping bad enough, but was woken up this past weekend by a fly landing on my face and repeated mosquito bites), most of them haven’t been closing the toilet lid or washing their hands after going to the bathroom (do what you want in your own home, but I thought this was standard behavior as a guest), and not following my request to not walk with shoes on in the house (they do sometimes cover the floor, but also don’t always walk on the mat they lay out). There’s also been a strange black residue I keep finding around. It cleans up ok off of hard surfaces, but left black streaks on my bedding (I don’t know how it got on my bedding in the first place). I hate how much cleaning up I have to do after they leave. Anyways, it’s still winter and it’s still not fixed.

I called Service Genious as my heater was not working; I also needed some maintenance. Tony and his colleagues did a very good job cleaning the ducts. Eduardo was very thorough cleaning the unit. As for the main issue, the thermostat was faulty. Eduardo replaced it and tested it multiple times checking the airflow on all vents. He was very polite, professional and took the time to answer my many questions. Huge kudos also to Martha who followed my case very closely and helped when needed. I will definitely use Service Genious again.
