I recently purchased an estate home in La Mesa and noticed that the gutters had not been maintained in a while, accumulating significant debris. Otherwise, the gutters were in good shape, so they just needed a good cleaning. I contacted a couple of firms to get the gutters cleaned. The first firm that came out wanted to sell me new gutters. Clinton quoted me a very reasonable price for cleaning the gutters and when my appointment came up, he realized he'd fully scheduled his crew, so he personally came out and cleaned the gutters himself.

Johnson Solar was recommended to me by a friend who was very familiar with the many construction issues that I had building my home, as a result of an incompetent general contractor. My friend knew that he would be taking a risk by recommending a company to do my solar and battery backup installation.

I cannot possibly say enough good things about Johnson Solar, so I will keep it short and sweet:

I was on the fence about getting solar because of the cost. I just bought my house and didn't want to spend the money. After getting two electrical bills for 800 and 700 dollars I contacted a few companies and they gave me some crazy prices and i had to wait a month or two before they could install. I contacted Johnson Solar the owner came by and walked me through the steps and he went up on my roof and explained everything to me and his price quote was to good to pass up. From the day we signed to contract to the the final install was 8 days. We have had the system for 6 months now and we love it.

Johnson Solar just completed my solar panel Installation project about two months ago.

About nine years ago, I had a couple of estimates for installing solar panels on my roof. The average cost was approximately $24,000.00 for 20 panels.

The price was too high for me, so I did not have the work done.

Last May, my friend in Alpine had solar panels placed on his roof. I decided to check into having the work performed on my home.

I checked with four different companies. The number of panels was from 11 to 15. The price was within $4,000.00 among the four companies bids.
One of the companies was a referral from another friend of mine who had just recently had solar placed on his roof.

That Company was Johnson Solar. They had the best panels, in my opinion and the best price. After talking to some of my neighbors, I determined that my panels are generating more KW than theirs are.

From the quote to the system turn on, it was less than three weeks. It took one day for the installation, and you would never have known the crew were here. I did keep them well hydrated with water and Gatorade.

Considering I am on a fixed retirement income, today was a joyful day when I received my SDGE bill in the mail. This bill was covered by 100% solar. The bill read, “No payment is due. Your account has a credit balance of” over one hundred dollars. (My words) My normal bill, this time of the year would have been between $200.00 and $300.00 for a 2000 square foot home.

Overall this has been a huge positive investment. I would highly recommend Johnson Solar to anyone who wants to make that move to solar.

I live in a HOA community and have a clay tile roof that needed new underlayment. Clinton solar reroofed and installed solar panels cheaper than than the competition. Believe me I checked. Including both SolarSage and all the top rated San Diego Yelp results.

I contacted him 11/11/20 and by 12/15/20, SDGE granted me a net metering agreement. Yes that is basically 1 month from my 1st contact with Clinton to me:

- Spending a week getting other quotes equivalent to what Clinton proposed and realized he was beating the competition
- To Clinton removing clay tile roof
- To Clinton Installing new underlayment
- To Clinton Reinstalling clay tile roof
- To Clinton Installing 22 LG panels with microphase inverters *recessed in a low profile manner into the clay tiles*
- To the project passing final SDGE inspection.

He abided by my HOA rules and all was smooth and efficient. No hassles, no surprises, no mistakes. The crew always left the home in a clean presentable manner each day they finished. Clinton was true to his word with pricing, timing, and quality of work.

It was a pleasure working with Johnson solar crew. The crew was able to schedule the installation a week before agreed date and I had my solar up and running in less than 5 days (including weekend). They are well informed and knowledgeable to perform the installation. Our house's roof has some issues with tree shade in the front and they were able to quickly figure out the best possible solution. I would highly recommend them!

Johnson Solar installed 27 solar panels with micro-inverters on my roof. It was a great price and beat the lowest competition by over $3,000 dollars. Since the installation, about 4 years ago, I had no issues and I have been enjoying not giving any money to SDG&E. After spending way too many hours, days and meetings with other installers I was fortunate to be introduced to Clinton Johnson by a close neighbor who had hired Clinton to install their solar. Of the 10 or more installers I have interviewed Clinton was the ONLY person who was willing to itemize all the costs and let me pay for the materials. Very professional and personal experience working Clinton from the beginning while we were designing the right size system, and during while he performed the install, and at the end showing me the ins/ outs of it all. Clinton saved me about $4000 on my rooftop solar install. I got estimates from the usual suspects that were all higher. I ordered my hardware and had it delivered on a Monday. My system was up and running by the following weekend! Clinton handled all the permits and coordinated the inspection process. He also installed an EV charging station in my garage. Cant say enough good things about his work ethic and expertise. If you're considering a PV solar system call him and ask for an estimate!!

Clinton and his guys delivered exactly what was promised when I initially spoke with Clinton to receive a quote. His guys are professional, tidy, and easy to communicate with. Johnson solar added 6 panels to my existing 11 panel system. They got it done in about 4 hrs and waited until my envoy system read the new panels and verified each panel was outputting the promised wattage before taking off. A few days later we had heavy rain and no leaks. Also they were also the lowest bid and no gimmicks ( visa gift cards, ipad, etc). Had a great experience all around!

Clint from Johnson Solar was very easy to work with even with the mad crunch of everyone trying to get their solar installed before end of NEM 2.0. I have a very steep roof with lots of angles but we were able to get 17 panels up and they're producing electricity quite well for about a month now. It was also supposed to rain heavy with 20 mile an hour winds the day of install so wanting to avoid injury Clint pushed it back to early the following week. Install was done within a day. Time will tell how the electricity via panels averages out as I have most facing south, but a few facing strictly east for morning sun, and west for afternoon sun. Just the way my roof had to accommodate the panels. At this point, can highly recommend Johnson Solar for your solar installation.

I can't say enough good things about my experience with Johnson Solar. The owner works with you specifically and not a hired salesman. I have had the solar system running for 6 months without any problem. You can see what you are generating at any time. My SDGE bills have been virtually non existent. I checked with others what they paid for their systems and Johnson came out as a bit less expensive; and the service and responsiveness was well worth it.
