I shopped around quite a bit before deciding to go with Clinton at Johnson Solar. I tried the Costco people ($$$), looked into Craigslist (no thanks) and even considered hiring people myself to install. In the end I'm so glad I went with Johnson to install solar on 3 of my homes for a few reasons. Price was better than the rest and Clinton stands behind his work. I also liked that he finished much quicker than he said he would. The end product is awesome. He got me some of the best rated panels and the install was quick and clean. I'd definitely recommend Johnson Solar to anyone in search of a competent professional company.

Clinton Johnson of Johnson Solar installed 46 solar panels in 1 weekend with his outstanding crew. Clinton the owner was onsite during most of the install which went extremely smoothly. Clinton is the consummate professional, extremely detailed oriented, avoiding problems with his great planning. I would recommend Johnson Solar to anyone. By the way I had one relay go out on one of the panels & he came right out & replaced it without delay. Thanks Clinton.

I concur with all of the previous reviews for Johnson Solar. We were very impressed with Clinton Johnson and his work. He met with us within a day and explained everything very clearly. His cost was below what other larger companies were charging and they did not have as good reviews, Clinton was able to start the job within a couple of days. He and his assistant did the entire job themselves within a day. We had the permits completed and the system was running within a week. We were amazed. He replies back when you have questions and uses quality equipment. We highly recommend Johnson Solar.

Clinton and his crew were very professional and upfront about the cost, installation process, & anything else that needed to be discussed. They installed a second set of solar panels for us and did not leave until they were done, despite how late it was getting. Clinton followed up afterwards to make sure everything was working for us, including the app that gives us information on how the panels are performing. I appreciate how responsive Clinton was in answering any questions I may have, even a 1.5 years after installation. I would absolutely recommend going with this small business for your solar installation.

I HIGHLY recommend Johnson Solar. I received quotes from several other companies, but Clint was able to beat their quotes and provide much better value. Other contractors could only complete the install between one to two months; Clint was able to install the NEXT week. Clint and his crew were polite, courteous, and efficient during the one-day install. They made sure everything was set up and even spent extra time following up with the city and SDGE to make sure the system was good to go. Clint is an expert in solar, and I am so glad we chose his company. We have been extremely happy with our system and its performance. I highly recommend Johnson Solar for the installation of your solar panels.

I had Clinton Johnson of Johnson solar install a system for me a couple years ago. He was one of the easiest contractors I've ever worked with. Clinton took care of everything, was there every step of the way, and stands behind his work. A month ago my inverter failed and he had it RMA'd and a new one installed very quickly. I've recommended him to a few people I know and the ones that had solar installed were very happy with everything too.

From start to finish Clinton and the team at Johnson Solar went above and beyond to get solar on my roof in a timely manner. The team gave us a quote and design very quickly and the whole process could not have been easier. When the installation time came, their team finished the job quickly and left the job site clean and tidy. Easily passed inspection and PTO.

Clinton was the first solar company we contacted but he recommended we get a few more quotes before we made our decision. After meeting with a few other companies it was clear that Clinton beat the competition in price and in completion of the project, we were up and running in 3 weeks, compared to the other companies that said it would be more like 3-6 months. Turns out he had installed solar for a couple of our neighbors and when I asked them for a review they had nothing but glowing remarks for Clinton. Our friends recommended Johnson Solar to us when we said we were interested in installing solar panels on our new house. Johnson Solar just completed my solar panel Installation project about a week ago. The entire process from the quote to the system turn on was professional and efficient. They completed the project much quicker than the time frame that other companies quoted. They also use the latest technology and all at a very competitive price. I also had roofing work done at the same time and the roofing company that Clint (the owner) uses is also excellent. I do want to give a special thanks to Ross, the company rep in my area,
for being patient with all my questions and for making sure the project went smoothly. Overall just a great experience. I would highly recommend Johnson Solar to anyone considering this type of project.

It has been 2.5 years since Johnson Solar installed my solar panel installation. During that time I have not paid a penny for electricity and have had a surplus owed at the end of each year that was carried forward. I have already saved half of what the system cost me. This system performance is based on 2 factors: 1. Clinton's price was the most competitive I received, by a long shot. 2. More importantly, he installed a high quality system, did a fantastic installation with no external conduit and explained everything he was doing and why. And, I have not had to call him back. I highly Johnson Solar.

A neighbor mentioned their positive experience with Johnson Solar. I had already shopped around a bit for rooftop solar and sure enough when I talked to Clinton at Johnson solar, he stood out as the most upfront and honest. I sent him my information, a few photos of my house, electrical panel and past utility bills so he could size an appropriate system. I was emailed a few system size options with quotes to choose from within a couple of days. There was no pressuring me, no things that did not sound right and no surprises. The prices looked great was in writing, and the type of panels and other components were very top quality. They were doing some large projects at the time but managed to squeeze me in somehow. Clinton and all his crew were great to have working at my house. The system was in within a few weeks' time looks professional and is beyond my expectations. I recommend them to anyone looking into going solar.

Had Johnson Solar install our solar panels about 18 months ago. Like the other reviews, we experienced great customer service, pricing, timely response to any questions we had and rapid turnaround. We recently had an issue with the inverter not communicating with Solar Edge. Although the system was working, we had no way of knowing what it was producing. On each occasion Clinton sent someone or came by himself, to check out and resolve the issue. If you're considering getting solar, give Clinton a call. You won't be disappointed.

Johnson solar did a solar upgrade on my system and not only did a fantastic job, they added high quality high wattage panels and I cannot recommend Clinton or his company enough. They fit me into their busy schedule at the end of the year, and did a top notch job, so far I couldn’t be any happier. I feel that there are some shady companies doing solar, Clinton and Johnson solar are definitely an exception, they are excellent. I would not only recommend them, I would hire them again if I was thinking of doing more panels or batteries, they simply do great work. May 2023: Bad experience with their roofing sub-contractor. Very poor communication from the roofer to schedule the job. They also chose a rainy day to do the job and left the job with half the shingles done. Water started leaking into the house and no help or response from the roofer/solar team until later to fix the damage. Solar itself was OK, but poor communication on when and what would be done. Wouldn’t work with them again!

We were referred to Johnson Solar by two neighbors who used him. We couldn't be happier with the communication, excellent customer service, pricing and quick turnaround to completion of our new solar system! Clinton was straight to the point with informative e-mails - no pushy sales pitch - and was timely with responses to our many questions. He gave us the time we needed to get other quotes and carefully make this big-ticket purchase. He is hard-working and surrounds himself with a terrific team including Jose' whose crew did full re-roofing in two days and were meticulous with clean-up. Oscar at the office kept us informed of permit approval and inspection.
The foremen and crew for the solar install were courteous, informative, and again, super-clean upon completion. We highly recommend Johnson Solar.

Johnson Solar

In April of 2023 we decided to look at having solar panels installed with battery back-up. We researched quite a few solar companies and finally settled on Johnson Solar.
From day one of signing a contract, to the last day all items were completed with no complaints. Some minor glitches evolved and resolved in a timely manner.
Everything from day one to completion, everyone was professional and pleasant to deal with. From the quote of what was contracted and with what we needed for our household solar installation.
The crew that did the actual installation of solar panels performed it in one day, one day for battery backup once the battery received from the manufacturer.
Clinton Johnson (owner) kept us informed from copies of blueprints, permits etc. and a schedule of when to expect workers. The response from Clinton when called was less than hour.
Clinton and his employees were always very patient with us when we called with many questions.
