Constraction reviews in Elk Grove, California

Our bathroom came out exactly as my wife and I envisioned it. Project manager and contractors were friendly, easy to work with, and professional. High quality work and materials. Well worth the money we spent.

I had new kitchen counters installed along with a few appliances, and the kitchen is absolutely beautiful. I am beyond pleased with how it turned out. The crews and contractors did excellent work. Beth was an immense help with the design process. She was very patient while I wavered on decisions and she had excellent suggestions. That experience alone is what caused me to choose DR Design & Review over the other companies I talked to. Kudos to the team!

Wow!! I am super impressed with this company! My husband and I visited their showroom in Elk Grove to get ideas for our kitchen remodel. Javier & Beth were extremely friendly, helpful & knowledgeable! They spent time showing us different samples and helped us pick everything out. It was great to have both of them helping us. Javier was able to thoroughly explain everything to my husband in Spanish, which he really appreciated as he speaks very little English. The design Beth presented us with was AMAZING! The finished product is even better! We could not be happier with our new kitchen and the quality of customer service we received!! Thank you Javier & Beth & Thank you DR Design & Remodel. If I could give more than 5 stars, I definitely would :)

I don't know what kind of work these people do but someone in their company truck was tailgating me and passed over a double yellow on an extremely dangerous road this morning. If this is the attitude outside of the work place and highly recommend doing business elsewhere!

Just started working with this company. So far the people I've encountered have been available, knowledgeable, polite, patient and persevering. Their advice is good. You do need to be responsible for your part: reading your contract, understanding the sequence of work and what you are committing your money to.

DR Design & Remodel has a fantastic team, and great start to finish companies are hard to find. Their focus on customer satisfaction is of utmost importance, and they discuss realistic expectations about the remodel process so you know what to expect in advance.

Love my new kitchen! It was a breeze from start to finish. They have quality workmanship and are very professional. I recommend DR Design for anyone that would like a seamless remodel job. Thank you DR Design!!

DR designs staff was professional and easy to work with. We came across a lot of hurdles and DR was quick to communicate with us as well as with our concerns and questions. Michelle was awesome to work with and took our concerns and expedited any work that needed to be completed. Jason (subcontractor) was excellent!! The attention to detail and perfection was appreciated!! After being out of the house for 7 months we quickly started to unpack which I didn’t take pictures when it was completely finished… 😬 We would use them again for any future remodels!

DR Design and Remodel recently remodeled our two bathrooms, a small long, skinny hall bathroom and afterwards, our large primary ensuite bathroom. The bathrooms turned out beautifully, but this review is in two parts. The first part of my review is 5+ stars for the outstanding professionalism and the workmanship provided by the subcontractors, most of whom have worked for DR for many years. My highest recommendation goes to Jorge Marin and his crew—Jorge, Jr. and Luis—who provided demo, blocking, and tile work. They were super professional, communicated well, worked diligently, and cleaned the work area each day. Jorge really saved the day on the primary bath when he also took over project management responsibilities, (see below for why this was needed) coordinating with other subcontractors so the project could be finished on time. I also want to give a shout out to other subs who did stellar work: cabinet and shelf installer Christian, painter Dee, quartz fabricator Jose, and electrician Sam.
The second part of my review addresses our 3 Star experience with the showroom staff and the project management. First, I want to say everyone was very nice, but some circumstances arose that made the situation difficult at times. There were signs of possible trouble even before we signed the contract. When we initially engaged their design services, the showroom was open for their regular posted hours. Suddenly, the showroom was open sporadically and by appointment only. After being assured that all was well, we decided to proceed and signed the contract in late October 2024 with a projected start on the first bathroom December 10. That got pushed back a full month because of problems getting the permit. We later learned that the permit was not even applied for until December 6. One week into the first project, the local project manager was suddenly “no longer with the company” and our project was being managed by a person in Chicago. Again, this person was very nice but the time difference between Elk Grove and Chicago made his communication with the subcontractors difficult and I essentially had to take over as an intermediary for communication after several days of confusion about who was supposed to be coming and work was not being done. The company told us they used an app called Buildertrend to communicate and to show what was scheduled each day, but emails sent through Buildertrend were often unanswered and after the first week of a 3 month long 2 bathroom project, the work schedule on Buildertrend was never updated. Calls to the showroom were greeted with a recorded message and then the phone would ring and ring with no answer and no way to leave a message. I did share these concerns with the local showroom people and with the person from Chicago. At some point, the decision was made that subcontractor Jorge Marin would also take over project management duties for the primary bath remodel and from that point on, everything ran smoothly.
In summary, the work was completed on time—mostly thanks to Jorge Marin—and we are very happy with the results. Improvements are needed with the showroom hours, communication system, and with local project management. I shared these observations with the staff during the project and afterwards. -
They do amazing work at a very reasonable price. I’ve had a great experience and have no complaints.

We hired Robles & sons to handle our issue with our electrical and couldn’t be happier with the result. The crew was professional, polite and kept the job site clean at the end of the day. They kept us updated on the timeline so we never had to guess what was happening next. High quality craftsmanship highly recommended.

Excellent service from start to finish. The company showed professionalism at all times, met the agreed deadlines, and the quality of the work exceeded our expectations. The team was very attentive, communicative, and always willing to answer questions throughout the process. I definitely recommend them for any construction or remodeling project.

Ordered a new door to be installed about 4 months ago...... Still not installed :-(

I can't find what I need

Terrible customer service. I ordered custom shades in September and they can't seem to get the order right. I thought they finally fixed my order a month ago and I still haven't heard anything about the delivery and installation. I have called multiple times and left voicemail's and I never receive a call back. This store has the worst customer service that I have ever encountered.

On January 2nd I pre-ordered a custom exterior door with a dog door to replace an existing exterior door that is fully functional, the sole purpose of replacing the door was to have a dog door. On January 9th I paid for the door in full. I set up an installation date after the door was delivered to the Home Depot store on Laguna. I missed half a day of work to accommodate installation on Thursday, January 29th. The installers arrived with a door still in packaging that did not have a dog door. I attempted to call home depot and after being placed on hold for 10 minutes was told the manager was out of the store and no supervisor was available. The associate that answered suggested I install the door anyways and they will contact me to fix the error. I declined and sent the installers back with the door. I received a call later that day about the incident and was told we can arrange compensation after the door was installed. I declined, stating I would take my business elsewhere without knowing compensation for their error prior to the installation. We agreed on $250 after much debate, they attributed the error to the manufacturer although the door was delivered to the store clearly visible even while packaged then picked up by the installer. The door was re-ordered rush but then was called the day it was supposed to be delivered to the store and was told they were unable to rush production due to the custom order. Installation was to be 7-9 am on 2/21 and at 8:45 the installers were not present. Called the installers and left a voicemail. Called the home depot store at 8:50 and was told a manager would call me back, the installers are "running late" and have not picked up the door.. It is currently 9:17 and I have not received a return call.

In short, Home Depot owes me $450 and has owed me that sum for over three months and is currently no longer responding.
I was about to cancel my order for a window replacement, when they said they'd pay me $450 back as a customer service credit. I should've known that was a complete utter lie, because after the job finished back in January I still haven't been credited.
I've gotten no proactive updates from them, been cordially following up on my own, and now not getting a response back.
If you want your money stolen from you, go to Home Depot
Job number: F47474347
UPDATE: Don't be fooled by the response from Home Depot. After reaching out, they can't find the customer service credit anymore, failed promises to have their sales rep reach out, failed promises for even the social media rep to reach out. Complete garbage, don't lose your time and money to these people.
UPDATE2: After half a year, I finally got my money back. I upgraded from one to two stars for actually completing it, but still low grade for making the overall process incredibly stressful. -
He did a good job. Easy to understand and communicate with. Truthful. Good personality and professional. Id use him again.

Howard of the NRC owner did the inspections of the builder’s 11 month warranty. He caught the some defective issues on roof, HVAC … Which we are unable to find by ourselves. So we highly recommend him as your professional inspector!

Thankful for Howard! He completed a inspection last week that saved us from making a purchase we would have regretted. He went over things clearly and didn’t sway one way or the other towards panic or sugarcoating. His report was detailed and had the photos we needed. Would highly recommend!
