Went there to buy seeds with zero knowledge. The staff were very helpful in educating me choosing the right seed for my garden and right season to plant them. I love how they spend time educating customers. Highly recommend this local place for those looking for plants and gardening stuff.

Went in to return a Chapin plant sprayer. The plastic tubing drawing up the water broke off due to turning the top on and off. Had the item for 3-4 weeks. They swapped it out and said if it happens again to bring it back.

I enjoy shopping for my plants at this location. The people are so nice and friendly.

This place is better than Lowes and Home Depot for the quality of the plants. The price of the plants are higher than that of Home Depot. But the place is so lively. I was able to photo hummingbirds close up.

    Great Selection, Great Staff.
When you visit a nursery you look for selection, variety, condition of the plants and a staff with plenty of knowledge. Armstrong delivers in all respects. An excellent staff that obviously enjoy what they're doing makes this a 5 star rating.
    Highly recommend.

Staff are not only knowledgeable about local growing but are also super friendly. Plants are top quality- you actually get what you pay for. Also, their rotating home decor is very nice for my own home and gifts. And check out their free Saturday classes too!

Small store, but they have nice plants and you can order online and pick it up at the store. I dropped in to talk about a tree I bought there that isn't thriving, and one of their Experts took the time to listen, look at my photos and make suggestions. He also offered to come look at my yard for a fee. I purchased 3 Leslie Roy Mesquite trees. One looks great, one is dead on one side and none of the branches on the third tree leafed out this spring, but it has a bunch of sprouts down low on the trunk. The expert suggested that I measure the soil moisture every day for a while to see how it varies between the trees and then make adjustments so the two damaged trees are more like the happy one.

Love this neighborhood nursery. Everyone that works here is so nice and helpful. And all the plants are very healthy and "happy".

They are ALWAYS over watering their indoor plants. I got a dragon scale alocasia and it was so over watered that I pulled the whole rotted root up with a tiny tug. Won't ever buy plants here again-will stick to Ecuagenera in Bonsall. What a waste of money for anything but soil.

Had a great experience at Armstrong getting a Christmas tree. Dom and Alison were super helpful in getting the tree onto the car and the whole process was quick and easy. Highly recommend getting your Christmas tree here.

Great selections of plants. Fruit trees, citrus trees, tropical plants, herbs, vegetables, perennials, annuals, etc. Huge indoor and outdoor areas. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

NOT BEGINNER FRIENDLY (FROM A SURPRISED REGULAR) - Wonderful store, as a recreational and intermediate level houseplant owner I usually get great service and assistance with the workers. Today I accompanied my little sister who is a minor to get advice on how to care for a houseplant she hasn't had much success with and is currently in a very bad state. The three employees by the register were appallingly rude and dismissive of the genuine questions I asked on her behalf because she was nervous. Most of the interaction on their end was spent laughing at the plant and taking turns remarking that it most likely cannot be helped: doing gestures such as going "I mean..." and then dramatically lifting it out of its pot and shoving it in our direction to see the obvious and ripping the dead leaves off laughing in disbelief. I had to pry the entire time to get any substantial feedback again for my sister's sake and not mine. The whole thing felt like a high school bully gang up, SURPRISINGLY unprofessional as again, I frequent this center a lot for my own plant hobby. As we walked out my sister said she's glad I came because if it had been just her she would've started crying. I am truly disheartened that this is the review I'm leaving in regards to one of my favorite places, but I was previously unaware of how disturbingly hostile staff is towards beginners, PARTICULARLY in the presence of a minor. Do better.

Staff here helped us find the perfect fountain: size, level of sound, looks….we are delighted. They ordered it for us, then called us when it was ready to pick up.

We installed the unit in April, here is what it looks like in October.

    Thank you!

Armstrong Nursery is awesome!!! An employee owned business and it shows!!!
The employees are extremely friendly and give the best service ever! They are knowledgeable, professional and really helpful when it comes to landscaping!!! They have a profound knowledge of plants and how to care for them. They are a full service nursery or will help you DIY your own garden or landscape.
The flocked Christmas Tree turned out beautiful! This is my 4th year getting my tree there and it is fresh and ends up lasting way into January! They wrap up the tree and carefully load it into your car. All with a smile!!! I really enjoy doing business at Armstrong Encinitas and love the incredible people that work there!!!

I went there yesterday to look for some orchid food.
Kate, really spent a lot of time talking with me. And helping me understand what is the best time to feed my orchids.
I learned that right now since they are blooming. It is not such a good time to feed them. Kate steered me to a food that was higher in phosphate so that the next time they bloom, the flowers would be better and hopefully more numerous.
This young lady did not have to spend as much time with me as she did.But she certainly takes what she does serious and is extremely helpful in respectful. The nursery itself you can see is incredibly well stocked. And is very very clean. I would recommend this this nursery to anyone who wants good products at reasonable prices. And you will get the assistance that you need from a staff that is very devoted.
Thank you Kate and Armstrong. All the other staff members are very upbeat and interested in conversing with customers.
They treat you more like friends or family than you are customer.
    Sincerely,
    John Grey
