Constraction reviews in Encino, California

Anyone looking to hire this company please read my review along with everyone else’s. This company is awful. They have poor communication, never on time, doesn’t explain what work they are providing, leaves a mess for the homeowners to clean up. They lied about a guy named Morgan coming to discuss what is covered and what work will be done. The only thing they provide/make you sign is a cancellation form for when you’re unsatisfied they can make money off you. It’s all a scam. Please save your self from a headache and never hire this company. If I can give less than 1 star I would.

Scammers!! Read the reviews people!! These guys are scam artists who will report mold and dry rot by just looking at a clean white wall. They then try to scam your insurance company by charging high costs for work that doesn’t need to be done to give you back the deductible. If anyone thinks you can use an iPhone to detect moisture and mold then you need a reality check. They are just showing you a picture on their phone as part of the scam. The reason they get “offended” if you take pictures is because they are scamming you and the pictures are the proof. Never ever ever deal with these scammers. If you get them assigned by home warranty, be there, take pictures of their iPhone meter and get a second opinion/quote. They won’t even give you a quote unless you agree they start working in it and will quote when they have destroyed your walls.

Assigned to me through First American Home Warranty for a pipe under the sink that was leaking. They gave me a 4 hour window for arrival, but people gotta work! I wrongly assumed they would call me when they were on their way (my elderly parents had to call me to tell me he had arrived). Whatever, I'm like a 5 minute drive away.
This guy walked to the middle of the kitchen, saw "mold", and attempted to leave immediately. My mother had to CONVINCE him to stay long enough for me to arrive. He basically said that
1) he's not the actual plumber, he's the supervisor who checks to make sure "everything is safe for the plumbers to work" and
2) he can't have anyone fix the leak until I get a licensed mold remediation company to demo half the kitchen and take care of the mold. THEN they can fix the leak (oh, but if we want to hire his guys, they can start the demo "tomorrow morning" - so convenient!)
tl;dr: He didn't get within 3 feet of the leak, immediately told me that he won't work on it unless I give them tens of thousands of dollars in contractor work, and kept referring to the company as "DW Contractors".
I'm just glad that they were so blatantly shady or else I might have actually worked with them. -
This company was assigned to me by my home warranty.
They said they cannot come for two days which I can understand during these times though we have an active leak in our pipes.
They were scheduled to come on Thursday and requested that we be home for four hours that afternoon.
We planned our whole work schedule around this. At 5 o’clock on Thursday they said they would not be coming due to an emergency and that they were coming on Friday.
On Friday they called to say they would also not be coming again due to some emergency. I left work midday for this. They apologized and said they would come on Saturday.
Well, it is Saturday and not only did they not show up but they didn’t even call this time. Now we have to turn the water off in our home until we can find someone to come here. -
Non responsive, and left all the demo here to clean up. DONT SIGN anything until you speak with your insurance/ warranty company to verify what they are proposing is covered!!!!

Terrible experience with this company. Was referred to them by my home warranty for a water heater that went out - completely unresponsive after they provided a quote. Going on 3 weeks, calling them every day and being told I'll have a follow up same day - nothing. Avoid at all costs.

I don't write bad reviews, this one's the first one star . Just Rude and horrible customer service. First guys figures the problem find the leak second guys tries to figure out again, says no leak. Then I call him when it leaks again plumber reprimands me for calling him back!!!, two weeks leak still not worked. No response after calling back, my leak is still unfixed, and no there is no coordination among them. Now they want to comeback in a week again. So three weeks with the leak . Yeah ! Made me change my home warranty so I don't get these guys again. Never again.

Alonso was very professional and polite. As this repair was done through a home warranty company, he had to do some extra steps in order to get approval from the warrant company. He let me know when the water would be turned off to the house and made quick work on replacing the damaged pipe fittings.

This review is for Alonso who provides plumbing services at WD. We've worked with several different plumbers around the area but have not found someone as reliable, transparent and trustworthy as Alonso. We had to reschedule our services multiple times due to some issues but Alonso kept his promise and delivered on his work. He was efficient and courteous when working at our house. We'd 100% recommend Alonso.

They did not do the job from my mold issue they have sprayed 3 different times I got super sick from my asthma had to go to the hospital. They fixed my plumbing he was a great worker got right on the job. But the people doing repair for the mold horrible. This has been going on for over a month. We are living in a hotel because the smell is intolerable. Don’t hire them. 👎🏼

Sadly I am another First American home warranty customer who had WD referred for a water leak and consequent mold in my rental unit. They came out to inspect and told my tenants (not me!) that it wouldn’t be covered under insurance yet did not call me to inform me of the problem and why it wasn’t covered so I could have it handled properly. I have called their office three times and left three messages and not one person has so much as answered the phone or called me back. It’s been 2 days and I still have no idea what is going on or where the leak is coming from. What a poor excuse for a company. Clearly they don’t want the business even if it wasn’t covered. I’ll be calling First American in the morning and urging them to remove WD as their service provider. Unacceptable.

After two weeks of a slab leak not being resolved, I've contacted another plumber. The plumber's that show up looked like someone that was picked up on the side of the street, no ID and no company work truck to identify them as a plumber. After 8 days the plumber finally showed up - extremely late and didn't even have the decently to call. Furthermore, they started working on area of the house without approval. Miguel doesn't return calls. Carl (Operations Manger) will try and get you to file an insurance claim. I think asking a home owner to file a claim after the work is started is fraud and will potentially cost the homeowner more money - a slab leaks is considered homeowership maintenance, not insurance claim if their is no property damage - no claim. This is a company that wants to create damages and outs the cost of the work up so that a claim can be filed. BTWL. Carl (Operations Manager won't return your calls - 3 request made). How this company became an authorized vendor for home warranty company is questionable

These people are con artists. The sales person Morgan will come out, wave his phone at your roof and tell you there's major damage and that you need to claim on your home insurance as well as using the warranty, and that he'll join a conference call with the insurer to make sure the 'right language' is used. If you don't do that, he'll tell the warranty firm that there's no claim due to lack of access. He told us he would inform the warranty company that the problem was due to wind damage, then didn't answer calls and appears to have tried to sabotage our claim. If First American send this firm out, cancel them and ask for another and avoid at all costs.

This company did an excellent job. They were fast, efficient, professional and organized. Timing and communication was great. We had a great crew with Marin and Pavlo come out and help with our water damage. They cleaned up and are clean. They were careful with our home and belongings. We have used the services of other restoration companies and they don’t compare to WD. I would recommend!

Misdiagnosed a simple valve leak on emergency call. Left me with no water the day before Thanksgiving, with no follow up, had not even submitted the report by Monday to follow up.Had to call private plumber to get simple leak fixed same day, he was done in 1 hour. It cost me $625, when should have been fixed in an hour through home warranty. Cut hole in ceiling unnecessarily. Claimed my washer and dryer and water heater would have to be removed and the garage wall torn down in order to diagnose the leak when it was a simple one hour repair above the water heater. I sent letter to general manager to report situation and get ceiling repaired no response back. Poor service, poor management. I was poorly taken care of by an unresponsive manager and incompetent service person. I would never trust this company again.

Do not use this company. WD contractors was supposed to handle my demo and mold remediation after hurricane Ian. They were subbed out for the demo under the construction company that was handling my new roof. It took them months to complete this. Many days of "no show", to the point where I basically had to beg them to come out. The individuals they originally sent out were rude and unprofessional. After they failed to correctly tape off the work area and covered my entire kitchen with insulation from the ceilings, we called to complain. One of the workers did not take this so we'll, and during the one day that I couldn't be home babysitting them he managed to not only break my living room ceiling fan, but also the ceiling fan in a room that was not even currently being worked in. On top of this he damaged my doorframe and ripped chair rail trim off of the wall. Which is strange considering it was the ceiling that they were working on. They did not provide any sort of dumpster for the demo, opting to roll everything out in a large sheet of plastic taped together and left by the road. They said that they would send someone out to take up all the demo materials, which of course never happened. They were left to rot in my front yard. I can't say this clearly enough, do not use this company.

Great experience working with the team, especially with Steve! They professionally tackled the leak issue, which no one could locate, even under concrete. Steve showed a high level of skill and attention to detail, delivering top-notch work. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking quality service and reliability in addressing similar issues.

There late on documentation they lie to you about mold test. They don’t show up for days. You get no reports on what has been done or how they will fix water damage. We had to hire another company to test and inspect for the mold. They want sock insurance for as much money as possible. They are incompetent. The only person they have was great was the plumber. I would not hire them for nothing else ever again. If you water damage claim done right stay away from this company.if I there was a zero grade that’s what I would give them.

There's something fishy about this Company. When I first called, someone picked up the phone immediately and I was pleasantly surprised that they scheduled a leak expert to come out the following morning between 8am - 10am. At 7:20am the next morning the bell rang and the worker said he was told our appointment was between 7am - 7:30am.
He spent about 30 minutes poking around and checking for the source of the leak. He made a recommendation (which we tried but it didn't solve the problem) and charged $95 (plus fees for using a credit card).
He encouraged us to file a claim against our home owner's policy (which didn't seem worth it for $95) which seemed totally bizarre and unwarranted. I asked for a receipt and he told me that I'd have to contact the main office.
For the next two days I tried calling the main office multiple times, but no one ever answered and the voice mail was "full."
I got back in touch with the guy who came to the house and he said he'd ask the main office to send a receipt. The next day I received a receipt showing the total amount paid as $0.
I can't decide if they're totally disorganized or unscrupulous, but either way, I wouldn't recommend using them. -
WD Contractor Services really helped me out when I had water damage at home. I was pretty stressed, but their team showed up fast and fixed everything. They explained what they were doing and took care of all the water damage repairs. Everyone was friendly and professional. I’m honestly really happy with the results! If you ever have water damage or need restoration, I definitely recommend WD Contractor Services.

This company and their sales person Morgan are crooks. DO NOT USE THEM. They were assigned to me by First American home warranty and They have stood me up an entire week on a daily basis to fix a very minor leak. They are all about scamming you and forcing you to open claims with your home owners warranty so they can scam you and both your homeowners insurance and home warranty insurance companies. They have left my ceiling with an Active leak open for a week because I refused to open a claim with my home warranty. WD contractors are fraud.
I will be filling a complaint against their contractors license. They are danger to public.
