Electrical reviews in Escondido, California

My attempt to work directly with Tesla for a Power Wall 3 was a failure. They did do a site audit and proposed a system. That proposal did not reflect what I wanted. And, they would not have any dialog with me about how the system would work. Finally after several request they did answer some of my written questions. At my request this project was aborted.
While searching on YouTube for Power Wall 3 installation videos, I saw one from Dave Pollock and his company SolHome. The video demonstrated the installation of the Power Wall and the Tesla Backup Switch. That’s what I wanted so I called Dave and that started the project.
Dave did a site inspection and I learned some important points the Tesla never mentioned. The project began within a few days and took several weeks to get the required city building permits. Once the permits were released it only took a few days to schedule installation. The installation took about a day and a half. The city inspection was scheduled and passed. From installation start to passing inspection was a total of four days.
Things electrical are very interesting to me so I watched the installation crew work. The three man crew was very knowledgeable and worked very well together. They answered all my questions, even questions about the electrical code. The crew was helpful and they worked diligently. All work was neat and the work area was always cleaned up when they left for the day.
Our solar system was pre-existing and they made all the required updates to that system so it was up to date with the national electrical code.
I am very happy with the installation and the system is working very well. -
This is an incredible, customer-oriented solar company. Their price was close to the least expensive, however working with Dave, the owner, sold me on the company. He is always responsive to my questions. His crew is professional and very friendly. I highly recommend SolHome.

We Build San Diego completed a full roof repair/replacement, installed mini split system and did a partial bathroom renovation including tub/tile, and rebuilt an exterior wall. Despite several challenges, Dave and his team went above and beyond to ensure the work was done in a timely manner and that we were satisfied with the final outcome.
We are extra grateful for Donny, who worked afterhours in the cold rain to make sure our heating system was up and running for the family that night. Joey and Eugene were also a huge help and always a pleasure to work with. Troy acted as a great project manager and the entire team was always on time, friendly and always left a clean jobsite.
Their professionalism was appreciated, and we plan on using them for future projects. We highly recommend We Build San Diego, especially as a Veteran Owned business. -
We were extremely happy with the solar system installed by We Build San Diego. The owner David Pollock was knowledgeable about the technology, both what best suited our current needs and what the options might be for future changes or expansion. The installers, Cristian and Jayce, were friendly and knowledgeable. At the end of each day, everything was left clean and tidy. The communication was excellent. We had daily updates, with photographs, on the progress of the installation. Questions were readily answered by the owner, the project manager Troy, and the installers. When the project was complete, our clay tile roof was in better shape than before it was started.

We are very happy with We Build San Diego, we hired them to do some remodeling of our home that we just purchased, install new floor, do some demo of a wall and soffit, and install some recess lighting. They did an outstanding job with the aggressive timeline before we had to move in. Dave the owner is very responsive and professional, was patient with us, explained the process and always followed through with our questions. Troy the project manager was super responsive, really kept track of our project and made sure to keep us updated and in the loop of what was happening. The website is very organized, you keep track of who is working in your home, and what they've accomplished for the day. All the workers were very respectful, and really accommodating. We will be using them again in the future for our kitchen remodel.

Hey did a great job. Troy and his team were very knowledgeable and he knew his stuff and the product better than other contractors I talked to. They were also competitively priced and were able to accommodate my specific requests when other contractors would not.

I can’t say enough good things about Dave and crew at SolHome and the job they did upgrading my solar system and installing a new heat pump. I liked them so much that recommended SolHome to a close friend. The installs were handled with no problems, the crew cleaned up after themselves. Now we have AC and no expensive gas heating bills.
Dave didn’t rest until all the minor details were handled. They included optimizing the control system for the Solar so that I maximize my return on investment. I did shop around and the biggest bang for my buck was SolHome. -
We had a great experience with SolHome and the installation of a new Thermal Heating and Air system. The process was easy and installation was seamless. Plus, this new system is already making an impact with even heat distribution and lower energy costs. We wish we would have done this sooner! The team was so helpful answering any questions and letting us know the timeline and process.

We contracted with SolHome to install two Tesla Powerwall 3 batteries with our existing solar system. Dave had the best solution for our complicated existing setup with two different solar types. They consolidated everything together to work with the Tesla batteries. They were on time, efficient and clean. They had to pull 37 panels off the roof in high heat and the crew did a great job and no damage. I would recommend Dave and SolHome for your solar needs.

Dave and his team did a great job installing our solar. Their prices were competitive and their work was fantastic. They finished all the details and left the worksite clean (I’ve seen too many contractors finish a job 95% but not quite finish, but SolHome completed the job on schedule, including all the small details). They also installed our solar very quickly (the other companies we checked with were going to take a couple months longer to get us installed). We are very pleased. They went above and beyond for us and we are highly impressed.

I couldn't have been happier with the professionalism, responsiveness and friendliness of SolHome personnel when they installed my internal heat pump/HVAC system. They are part of the HEERA rebate network and were a knowledgeable support in helping me secure the generous rebate for my heat pump system. Do look into HEERA and hire SolHome! I confidently and highly recommend this company.

Undertaking a solar panel project was a big cost, so we wanted to do our homework and choose a company that was experienced, reliable, and honest. We found all that and more with SolHome. David, the owner, came out to our property multiple times and worked with us to devise a solar plan that would meet our goals of dramatically lowering our energy costs (which are super high in Ramona!). He educated us about new energy-efficient options, like water heater heat pumps and mini-split heat pumps. During our decision process, David was always willing to answer our questions, even hopping on the phone with us to go through the nitty gritty of the solar quote.
Once we decided to move forward, Troy took the reins as the project manager. The team came out quickly, first to put on a new roof, then to install the panels and heat pumps. Troy was very communicative, giving us detailed updates each day of the project, which we appreciated. The team showed up on time, worked hard, and made quick progress. I was amazed at how fast they got the job done, which meant we started saving money right away.
My husband loves, loves, LOVES the apps that show us how our system is operating. In just the first month of the system being online, we're looking to save several hundred dollars on our energy bills and that includes the loan payment for the system.
Going solar was the right choice for us and using SolHome was a great decision. I would use them again and recommend them to my friends and family. I just really appreciated their personal service, their reliability, and the communication and that they are a locally owned company. -
I got several bids for removing my old gas wall furnace and cutting in an entire HVAC system. My house had no vents or ducts since it was built in the 60's and I live in a mild climate. I initially accepted a quote from another company but they didn't do electrical so I would have had to hire an electrician to finish the wiring. Last second I was searching for any other government IRA rebates that I might be eligible for and in doing so I came across SolHome because they are listed as a certified installer. I figured I'd reach out and see if they could do some of the other electricifition projects that there were rebates for (you might be surprised by how many contractors try to talk you out of electrifying your house). I spoke to Latasha and she said they could do all the things I was interested in plus they could do the HVAC as well. When I was hesitant to switch to SolHome for the HVAC/heat pump, her and Dave came out the next day to look at my house. Dave is really knowledgeable about all the current technology, and the quote they gave me was really reasonable, basically the same price as the other contractor for the HVAC/heat pump but it included all the electrical. In addition they were able to do all the other upgrades I wanted to do. In the end I increased my panel from 125amp to 225amp, switched from gas stove to induction, replaced the old gas water heater to a heat pump water heater and they removed the old gas wall furnace and replaced it with a heat pump HVAC unit and installed all the vents. The quality of their work was top notch and Troy, the project manager, was great at communicating and addressing my needs. Luis was the crew lead and did a great job of communicating with me and managing all the other workers and his workmanship was excellent. My house is much more comfortable and is no longer stuck in 1960's tech. It's construction so things get broken and problems pop up, and it can all get a little stressful while it's going on in your home, but the people at SolHome seem to understand this and they do a great job of responding to the issues and resolving them. A+, I would definitely recommend letting them bid your job!

I had SolHome install a large solar + battery system at my home—after speaking to five major solar installers over the course of a couple of years. None was willing to install a system that would back up my whole house in the event of a grid outage, and their salespeople all slid over the installation details I asked about.
Finally, a friend recommended SolHome, and the technically-savvy owner came out and we figured out how to accommodate my (after years of research) rather specific requirements, rather than doing a quick cookie-cutter installation. He worked with me to configure a whole-house backup system, put the batteries in the well-insulated garage at the opposite end of my house from the main electrical panel, and put the control electronics inside the house (versus putting both outside on a west-facing stucco wall that gets extremely hot in the afternoons, which would degrade the batteries and electronics).
The chief installer was very knowledgable, patient, conscientious and detail-oriented. The work was never rushed.
I’ve now lived with the system for a couple of months—it not only provides all the power for my all-electric house, but also all the energy that my electric car uses. Great job! -
SolhHome has been awesome! I was referred to Dave and SolHome by friends during the brownout in 2024 after my friends started the process to put solar on their home. Dave made the process super easy and was very informative. I didn't have to take off work to get the initial roof assessment. Even though Dave said our existing roof was fine for solar, I decided to have it replaced by SolHome as they also hold a general contractor's license. They also provided a reference to secure a loan (can pay in cash as well). The installation process has been smooth with frequent updates from Troy and continuous engagement from SolHome to make sure all paperwork with SDG&E is complete.
If you are thinking about solar or roof repair, highly recommend SolHome. They were the second company I engaged to discuss solar and by far were the superior choice! -
We worked with them for several projects and will do all of our major home renovations with them moving forward. They installed our tile (pictured attached) and solar and did an incredible job. Everyone we worked with was knowledgeable and felt like a true partner from start to finish.
Donny and Jace were incredibly detail oriented every step of the way and were thoughtful and diligent with their commination. They kept us in the loop throughout their work and allowed us to feel confident that the project was in good hands.
Additionally, they provided painters Robby and Robert who also demonstrated world class skill and customer service. We're already eyeing other projects that could use their services.
It can be tough finding a contractor you trust to come into your home and build your dream space. Without hesitation, I'd recommend this team to anyone considering any kind of home renovations. -
If you are thinking about renovations or additions to your home, look no further. Seriously, don't waste your time looking for other contractors, because SolHome is the answer. They cured me of my building contractor PTSD. They came up with a beautiful design for my garage expansion and then made it all come together. From the start to the very finish, Dave and his team were straightforward, honest, courteous, thoughtful and helpful. They don't cut corners and they pay attention to detail. I cannot say enough good things about these folks. If you would like to be cured of your construction-based PTSD, get a hold of SolHome!

A neighbor recommended SolHome after our previous contractor mishandled nearly everything then vanished. Their terms were reasonable and, best of all, they sorted out the bureaucratic and equipment mess left by the last contractor. I'd recommend SolHome to anyone.

These guys are amazing! So far I’ve had We Build repair stucco and paint the exterior of my house, replace all the windows and sliding glass doors with dual pane, replace the water heater, HVAC and remodel a bathroom, plus some smaller stuff. As I was listing off everything I wanted to do, Dave (the owner) was great about explaining what was possible, due to the age of my house, and never tried to upsell me on anything I didn’t want or need. All of the employees are very friendly and professional, always showing up on time, wearing a mask, and treating me and my house respectfully. Lane’s attention to detail set my perfectionist mind at ease. Everyone is very knowledgeable, but Donnie in particular really impressed me and I knew that if he was working on something, it would be done right. And Joey and Jace are hard workers that get sh… stuff done :) The foreman for my projects was Troy. He’s a really nice guy and made sure things stayed on schedule and got done right. We did have an issue with a vendor for my shower, and Dave and Troy took care of everything, even through multiple returns due to shipping issues. I now have a shower that I love, and it’s laid out exactly the way I wanted.
I’ve already recommended We Build San Diego to multiple people, and will definitely have them come back to remodel my kitchen and another bathroom. -
Overall completely satisfied with the WeBuild San Diego team. I contracted with them to setup a concrete foundation and finish a studio shed as an office in my back yard. This required running approximately 200 ft of electrical and Ethernet and completely finishing the interior. Troy, the project manager, was very communicative and provided thorough project updates. He ensured I was aware when the team would be on-site working in the backyard. The team also was very respectful and ensure the job site was clean every single day before they left ensuring a safe environment for my little ones. Lastly they were very responsive to my needs and were willing to adjust their work schedule around my requests due to unforeseen circumstances. Overall I would rehire them for another project if the opportunity arose.

SO many good things to write about the experience with our SolHome solar install.
It says a lot about a company when every single team member is super nice, conscientious and really knowledgeable - from Dave the owner to the guys in the field, Rueben and Eugene (and others I forgot names!)…
We learned a lot about what we needed and what would work on our house - felt very custom from beginning to end.
The whole crew is smart, professional, on time, had good communication (the app they use is cool and helpful) and very clean with their work.
Would highly recommend - totally fair pricing and over delivered on the product and especially the service.
