Unfortunately, things have gotten worse in a couple of ways:

1) Quality of installation: I've been working with another company to fix my AC system over the past few months (who has been really awesome and honest to work with but I won't name here). After multiple inspections and troubleshooting, their feedback was that they found Giant AC's installation "different" from how they would normally install an AC system, and alluded to how the quality of the installation wouldn't have been up to their standards. Their professional feedback reaffirms my previous review about Giant HVAC using various inexperienced sub-contractors who didn't seem to know what they were doing (e.g., installing the large Gree Multi-Zone Outdoor Heat pump upside down).

2) Rat infestation: As part of the original Giant HVAC installation, Giant HVAC punched open various holes to reach the attic and crawl space for the various wires/pipes for the AC system... and that had actually led to a rat infestation in both my attic and basement. We've been dealing with this rat infestation for the past two years and I've been wondering why and how it happened. After recently spending $10k for a professional pest control company to get this fixed, the pest control company basically pointed to all the holes left wide open from all the work Giant HVAC did, and the pest control helped patch all the holes up to fix this issue. That's $10k and a lot of headaches trying to deal with this problem that ultimately stemmed from Giant HVAC's poor installation.

If you got an installation from Giant HVAC, I highly recommend that you double check all the wires/pipes that lead into your home, as we don't want anyone else to go through what our experience has been.

I got Giant HVAC to install AC for both my house and another family member’s house. My house had multiple mini split systems installed just two years ago and my family’s house had a central ac installed a little over a year ago.

My home installation was a mess - Joe's crew cycled in different people and some of them seem like clear apprentices who didn't know what they were doing. For example, Joe’s guys installed one large unit in the attic upside down which potentially may have damaged the unit. They also installed one of the mini split system’s drain pipe poorly that ultimately caused flooding and a pile of water in my kitchen.

To make matters worse, all 4 ac units stopped working and no longer blow cold air at almost exactly after 2 years (installed July 2021, stopped working August 2023), coincidentally just outside of the 2 year warranty from Giant HVAC. I contacted Joe and he’s been giving me a ton a attitude and unwilling to stand by his work. He’s basically responding with, “I’m too busy and I don’t have time for this. I’ll go visit if or when I have business in your area, but I don’t have any business in your area right now.”

I’m all for supporting local small businesses, but I really can’t recommend Joe after this experience.

And will be our Go to for our HVAC needs. Very reliable and honest . He didn't gouge on the pricing straight to the point and very informative on the problem .Thank you again !

Joe is AMAZING! If I could I would give him 6 stars I would. First things first, if you expect that the he will do all the work himself, thats not a realistic expectation when it comes to communication and followup, Joe is amongst the very few contractors who is at the top of their game. He is very clear and upfront about setting expectations and then meeting them. I had to travel out of country half way through our project and Joe had offered to come and resolve any issues.

Our project was complex and involved replacing single zone HVAC system with a 2 zone Heat pump based system. To make thing more interesting we had to add a new return from the second floor which made the project pretty custom.

His team's workmanship is as good but that is to be expected, but following up and mitigating issues when they do arise, because parts fail, things happen thats when Joe shines through.

Working for a general contractor, I have worked with Joe and his team on numerous projects and could not be happier with his communication, cleanliness and thorough performance. I have had Giant HVAC install furnace systems on numerous occasions, install new ductwork and extending systems for remodels and additions. Joe and his team are very easy to work with and are very reliable. I would highly recommend them for anyone looking to install a new furnace or HVAC system.

Words I thought I'd never say - had the best experince installing AC unit!

Joe does a great job assessing the scope of work and makes reccomendations on brands, materials, improvements/alterations keeping cost and performance in mind. His team is super easy to work with, communicate well, respectful of your space, and the best part: finish the job on time!!

i'm praying that my 30 year old furnace never breaks, but if it does, I know exactly who I'm calling. Thank you Giant HVAC!

Joe and team are awesome. We used them in both of our houses and have been extremely pleased. They are a bit far away from Menlo Park but they do their best to respond as quickly as possible when needed. New heating system is awesome.

Joe is a delight and we will continue to use them !! Excellent!!

Work quality, Cost, People:
Joe is a very nice person to go with. His assistant Francisco is also an experienced and reliable worker. I like both of them. Their price offering makes sense and is very competitive. Work quality is quite good. All these are the good parts.

However, the time control and commitment after work could have been better in my opinion.

Giant HVAC started the work in June end ‘22, and the final inspections were done in ~ Aug end’22.

Time control: Joe was late for ~ 45 min in our first appointment, citing delay from the previous appointment. Similar situation happened again on the second time, with other reason. And he cancelled one appointment of our meeting at the project site on the 2nd day before we met.

Commitment: Even though Joe is very helpful and responsive before a contract was signed and during the projects, at the later stage of the task and after the installation, I don’t feel he is that responsive. It took almost a month for him to start the city inspection appointment procedure, after he committed to me several times that he would do it ‘this weekend’ when I checked with him each time. It was the 3rd or 4th time (week) that he got time to set up the appointment. He told me he could not do it earlier because he can not wait in a time window for city people to show up. I understood he was busy, but it should be a standard flow in the field, and he should hire more people to cover this flow inadequacy, instead of appearing very responsive at the beginning of a project, but quite ‘irresponsive’ toward the end of a job.

Last, his assistant Francisco ever told me that he would find a worker friend to estimate/furnish a cabin space that connects to the roof where the furnace was installed. Four months have passed, it never happened after I asked for status update several times. Same thing happened at the end of a city inspection, to check if his friend can do the dead front metal coverage of the electrical panel for us - no reply either after I called and texted several times. I knew these are outside their job scope, but since they have said they would help follow up, a simple courtesey reply saying that they (or their friend) can not do it would have made me feel more respected.

It was a pleasure to work with Joe at Giant HVAC to replace my home’s central unit. Joe identified simple changes that would improve the efficiency in cooling and heating my 50 year old house. The bid was very reasonable and Joe took care of all the necessary permits. It’s been two months and my family is thrilled with how well the unit works. Joe is easy to work with and listens to the customers wants.... I wouldn’t hesitate to use Giant HVAC again, and I’ve already recommended them to a few friends. Total pros!!!

Our 24-year old AC stopped working. We thought it's a good time to replace it along with aged furnace with more efficient ones. We decided to stick with the original brand. Giant HVAC is in the manufacturer's dealer list. I called their number and Joe showed up next day. He's very knowledgeable and answered all my questions and concerns in a professional way. He gave us three device options to choose from. I like that. Of course we also talked to other contractors but Giant HVAC offered the most attractive quotes.

The installation team showed up early in the morning and had the job done in the late afternoon. Joe gave the final setting and testing to make sure the two-stage system working as expected. We're fully satisfied with their service. Thanks Joe!

Joe and his crew were great. We had an AC installed along with new duct work and everything was done in a few days. All equipment is working great and we are very happy with everything.

Joe and team did a good job installing my new Gree Heat Pump system. The price was very reasonable and I'm very happy with the system. There were a few issues along the way and once I reported them to Joe he took care of them, no quibble. Happy to recommend the Giant team.

Francisco and Nico did a great job with what turned out to be a very tricky installation of our new furnace. Very happy with the price and the workmanship. The two technicians and Joe, the owner, are also nice people. Good company!
