Constraction reviews in Fullerton, California

I went through Home Depot for a window installation and it has been the most frustrating experience a new homeowner could be put through. We had an installation appointment on 9/1/2016 and now, 2 weeks later, the job is still not finished. The reason the job was not able to be completed on this day is A) the patio door has a manufacturer defect in it and B) the aluminum trim that is supposed to cover the foamy looking insulation portion of the frame was the wrong color. The installers both confirmed that orders for these two items were put in prior to leaving and assured me that I would get a call the following week to confirm a date to finish the job. This is not convenient for either me or my wife since we both work during the day and would have to take more time off to accompany the installation.
As of right now, I have been contacted once about 10 days after the initial appointment by a Home Depot rep asking to confirm a second appointment, but she made mention only of the aluminum trim being back in stock and made no mention whatsoever of the patio door needing to be replaced so when I brought it up, she mentioned she would look into it and get back to me (no call from them since).
We are now stuck with unfinished windows throughout every room in our home (which presents a fair amoutn of hazards to everyone residing in it including a one year old boy), a Home Depot credit card opened in my name with no activity, no means of contacting the project manager or workers assigned to this job (only the salesrep and my local reps at the Placentia, CA location are responsive and even then, there is little they can do to expedite the process), and the discomfort of knowing we are being charged $5900.00 for a job and materials that other providers could have done in a more efficient manner with with better lines of communication. I didn't even touch upon the fact that we had to wait 4 weeks after we got approval from our HOA for an installation appointment.
I will absolutely preach against the usage of Home Depot for home installations of this sort due to my experiences with this job. Note that unlike other service agreements, I am stuck with sticking this job out due to the fact that it is impossible for me to pull the plug since most of the materials are already installed and cannot be uninstalled. Because of this, the best thing I can do is tell my story as a warning to anyone potentially getting stuck in this same situation. Avoid Home Depot window installations at all costs.
UPDATE 9/26/16 - Here is the latest on this matter. We have since had an appointment to have our flat trim applied to all of our windows and they did a good job. I confirmed today that we now have an appointment to have a non-defective patio door installed next week on Thursday, which will be exactly 5 weeks after the job was started. It appears that calling Home Depot out on several outlets helped to expedite the service scheduling and work. What concerns me still, however, is that I as the homeowner should have been given access to an online portal where I can view details of the job, including contact information for many of the job reps such as the job supervisor, and not a single rep that I spoke to over the phone, including the salesperson, any phone reps from the Home Depot Placentia location, or at-home services branch support reps, made that apparent to myself or my wife until my wife called demanding to speak to the job supervisor. This was after I made numerous calls to several reps in different locations and branches to have the job supervisor call me so I can possibly hear him out as to why my service has been so poor.
Along with zero phonecalls to me throughout this process to provide a status update, this lack of support is the sort of communication issue that I will be taking away from this whole process and why I will continue to not recommend Home Depot despite their efforts to alleviate my troubles expressed via these online review outlets. -
From the very first phone call I made to Horizon I felt valued as a client. The office staff was always kind and helpful. Our project manager, David, was easy to work with and was always responsive to any questions or concerns. He stopped by frequently to check the progress throughout the project and kept us informed of the next phase and work scheduling. All the tradesmen involved were professional, respectful of our home, great to talk with and did an excellent job. Any remodeling project can be stressful, but I believe that the service we received from Horizon made the process as smooth as possible. We love our beautiful new kitchen and bathroom. I would highly recommend Horizon Construction and Remodeling for any home project and would certainly use them again.

When we hired Horizon to remodel our kitchen, they produced outstanding results. The team was polite and productive, and the design and craftsmanship were excellent. The center of our house is now our kitchen.

We recently had our roof remodeled by Horizon Construction and Remodeling, and we couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. David, our project manager, was exceptional—he kept us updated throughout the process and ensured everything went smoothly. The entire experience was amazing, and we truly enjoyed working with the team. We're already planning painting and insulation work in the near future and will definitely be reaching out to David and Horizon Construction and Remodeling again

I wanted to update my 90's outdated kitchen counter. Enna the office manager was very responsive to my inquiry and accommodating with my schedule to set up an appointment to provide an estimate. I met with David who was professional and friendly. It was obvious that Horizon Construction was an experienced and organized company. I was impressed with the knowledge David had and grateful that he understood my unique needs when it came to replacing my countertop. David provided an estimate that was within my budget and we scheduled the work. Each of the workers that arrived from the demo team to the install team and plumbers were professional and so very neat and clean! They were careful of my property and courteous to my neighbors and my cat!! I am currently saving up for my next project and I will be hiring Horizon Construction & Remodeling to complete it.

Our kitchen was remodeled by Mark Besnos and Enna at Horizon Construction and Remodeling. We chose them after seeing all the great reviews on the Houzz app. When we walked into their showroom, we were warmly greeted by Diana who made us feel very comfortable. Their product display made it easy for us to put our ideas together. Mark’s crew did a wonderful job. Kudos to his crew, they really worked hard. Joel Chavez was a standout carpenter/jack of all trades doing much of the major work and tying together any imperfections and any loose ends that arose with a great attitude, expertise, and skill. He’s quite an asset to Horizon. Antonio Garcia who did our fabulous backsplash and Tom Tzur was the electrician. Mark ensured that each phase of the project was done correctly and completed on time (about 8 weeks). We gutted and replaced our 80’s kitchen (10’ by 10’) including the small dining area. We kept the same layout but switched the positions of the sink, stove and refrigerator. Enna helped with all the communication and paperwork and scheduling of the inspections, payments etc. Thanks to Mark, Enna, and their crew, we have a beautiful modern kitchen with two toned white and blue cabinets.
Lessons Learned:
1. Stick to your budget and have extra funds for unforeseen things because for sure there will always be something that will come up. Understand what is and is not included in your contract. Don’t just assume that everything is included.
2. Be flexible with your time. There is a general outline of what jobs will be done in order mostly during the weekdays but things may change with short notice.
3. Check that your materials/colors are in stock before you sign your contract. Due to the Covid and political environment, some materials may take longer to get or not at all. Some newer colors may cost more.
4. Look at your cabinet colors in every light. We first looked at an espresso-colored cabinet that looked like black in shade and looked light cherry colored under the full sun.
5. Know what crown molding you want for the top of your cabinets…having pictures will help.
6. Ask Mark if you are not sure of any detail or work that has to be done. Do not wing it…else any fixes may cost you extra.
7. For lighting such as chandeliers, measure everything. Use you tube to learn to measure your lighting fixtures.
8. Certain changes such as electrical, structural will require city permits and inspections. Your city’s inspector’s availability will cause delays up to one week.
9. Choose your grout color for the backsplash…apparently there’s a ton of them (we were looking at different shades of grey because white is too hard to clean).
10. Choose your door and doorknobs ahead of time. Check to make sure it works including deadbolt after it’s been installed.
11. Choose your baseboard style and size.
12. Choose your light dimmers switches.
13. Backsplash, one tile was an off color so be sure to inspect the backsplash, so if any tile is an off color you can ask to replace it with one of your other tiles, you will have extra tiles to work with.
14. Save a cabinet piece in case you need to do future touchups. You can go to the paint store to have them match the color. -
Horizon Construction & Remodeling created a contemporary masterpiece out of our old kitchen. Their staff was considerate to our demands, professional, and on time. They made sure every aspect was flawless as they led us through the entire process. Our new kitchen has surpassed our expectations, and we are really pleased with the outcome. Their services are highly recommended!

We recently completed a major home renovation with Horizon Construction, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results. This was a significant project — a full remodel of our kitchen, living room, and two hallways. The team had to completely demo the space down to the studs to install all-new wiring, insulation, and air conditioning.
One of the biggest challenges was removing a load-bearing wall in our living room. The engineering work required to install a new 14-foot beam was impressive, and the team handled it with great care and expertise.
I want to give special thanks to David Eskin, who started as our designer and then became our project manager. His design ideas were outstanding — things we never would have thought of ourselves — and his responsiveness and coordination with all the subcontractors kept the project running smoothly.
The work took a few months, as expected for a project of this size, but the quality, professionalism, and attention to detail made it well worth it. We highly recommend Horizon Construction and David Eskin and will definitely call them again for our next project. -
Thank you Horizon for all your help making our guest/additional bathroom for my mother who recently moved in with us a place she loves. David was very kind and understanding of what we wanted and the crews that came to work were very professional. We look forward to having additional work done in our house by Horizon so all of our rooms can be just as beautiful.

This is our second project with Horizon Construction & Remodeling. They originally remodeled our primary bathroom. They did such an excellent job with that, so we brought them back to remodel our kitchen and upgrade our electrical panel. We had a good idea of what we wanted, but Mark helped walk us through our design. He made several suggestions that helped improve our design and function in the kitchen.
The staff that did the work were extremely polite and professional. They cleaned up after each day of work and were overall respectful of our property. They showed up when they said they would be here. Not only does everything look great, but the quality is also wonderful!
As our house was built in 1958, we did find problems with the plumbing for gas and water. We needed to replace all the lines, so we had the whole house replumbed. Horizon quickly pivoted and even with this substantial increase in scope, they finished our project on time. Excellent quality work and we breezed through the permit approval process.
We would highly recommend Horizon Construction & Remodeling and are looking forward to beginning our third project with them very soon. -
Thank you so much for the outstanding job !!
It was my first home-remodeling experience. Thank you very much to the Horizon remodeling team-hardworking and professional . Your team's dedication turned what could have been a stressful process into an enjoyable one. It wasn't merely a remodeling project, Horizon remodeling managed to surpass my expectations!! . I will highly recommend Horizon Remodeling for many reasons. -
We love the way our house turned out using Horizon Construction! Eitan was FANTASTIC!.
My biggest fear was that I would have people coming and going and I would have no idea what to expect. I communicated this with Eitan, and he made sure that we knew every single step of the way what to expect. He was always there for us when we had questions.
I manage a team of 60+ employees who deal with customers all day and I would love to have someone of Eitan’s caliber on my team! He made sure we were in the loop and satisfied every step of the way.
Eitan is patient and understanding and very knowledgeable! It is 100% because of the way Eitan took care of us that my husband and I had such a great experience! We had our whole house done while we lived in it! Thank you Eitan! Stefan and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Great work! All individual workers (demo, shower prep, tile, electrician, plumber,
wall, and shower door) worked with details, very responsible, and on time. The project management communicated with us well and did a wonderful job in organizing the work and inspections. The guest bathroom remodel took less than four weeks. -
We recently completed an extensive remodel of our home—new windows, fresh exterior paint, two fully updated bathrooms, new interior doors, upgraded flooring, and a complete transformation of our primary bedroom. The results have exceeded our expectations, and we couldn’t be happier.
This level of satisfaction was only possible because of the personal and professional attention from David Eskin. From our very first meeting to his final message saying, “We are done,” David was attentive, thoughtful, and full of professional recommendations we would never have considered on our own. He kept us informed at every step—through each hiccup, process, and inspection—so we always felt confident and included.
What began as a plan to simply “fix the house up until we find another home” has turned into “we’re staying,” because the craftsmanship is extraordinary, and it truly feels like home.
We also appreciated the support from the office staff, who made communication smooth and easy throughout the project. Without question, we’ll be turning to Horizon Construction and Remodeling for Phase Two! -
We contacted Horizon for a bathroom remodel recently and we were impressed along the way with their overall professionalism, responsiveness, and attention to detail. David was very easy to work with and his subcontractors were top notch. We would hire them again and would recommend!

2024 - New
I found a great contractor, Horizon Construction and Remodeling and I didn't need to look any further. A few years back I called Horizon and asked them to remodel my upstair's bathroom and was amazed at the quality and workmanship that was performed on my remodel. A few years later my downstairs bathroom floor began to leak water from the floor. Without hesitating I called Horizon Construction and Remodeling and got a great quote. Their work was so impressive the first time I used them and even greater the second time. I would recommend Horizon to any and all. They were perfectionist. -
We contracted Horizon Remodeling to remodel our fireplace and paint our kitchen, family room, living room and hallway. Eitan Beznos managed the project and was extremely conscientious making sure all work was done correctly and completed as promised. He met with us frequently to check progress and make sure work was done to our satisfaction. When we asked for additional electrical work, he arranged for an excellent electrician named Tomer who did a fantastic job for us,
We would recommend Horizon Remodeling. Work was well done and finished earlier than promised. -
(2020) We had such a positive experience with Horizon Construction on our three bathroom remodel a few years back, we reached out to them once again to address a much smaller dining room project. The update was a small job but did require a skillset that I didn't want to leave to just any contractor. I wanted a trusted company to perform the room update and match existing texture at a reasonable cost. Mark and team visited, provided valuable insight and sent Leo who did an absolute perfect job. It's always a pleasure to speak with Mark and Enna and we highly recommend Horizon Construction and Remodeling for all home improvements, big and small.
(2017) We contracted with Horizon Construction and Remodeling to remodel all three of our bathrooms. Mark, Enna and the administrative staff were fully involved throughout the project providing updates, schedule reminders and addressing all of our concerns along the way. While we were upgrading the two upstairs bathrooms, we had a family of 5 sharing a downstairs shower. Mark was good about keeping the project moving forward and getting us use of the upstairs bathrooms as soon as possible. During the demo work, we uncovered bathtub rust. Mark covered the options and was able to work in the schedule a replacement with a project quick change order. We also decided midflight of the remodel that the existing cabinets were not going to work. Mark once again was able to provide options for us to address within our timeframe and budget. As during any remodel big or small, issues and challenges will arise. Mark and the whole Horizon team went out of their way to make sure my wife and I were extremely pleased with the process and end results. We very much appreciated the communication, periodic onsite morning meetings and the breakdown of payments spread throughout the 4 month project that allowed us a little more control of the finances. Overall, we appreciated the honesty, upfront discussions, and their dedication to details to make our bathrooms beautiful. We would not hesitate to contract with them again. Thank you Mark, Enna and the whole Horizon Construction and Remodel team.
