Horizon Construction recently completed a fireplace remodel in my home. This was our first attempt at any major work here. They were very professional and did a great job. There were times when they had to work around my schedule and times when workers remained until evening to finish a project.
I appreciate the prompt responses I received from Mike and the office staff when I had questions. He made good suggestions and had explanations about the process. As in another review, the cost was significant for a one-wall redo, but I’m very happy with the result.
There’s a small adjustment needed in the recessed lighting, but I’m confident this will be finished soon. Overall, I think they were professional and easy to work with.

We hired Horizon Construction to do a complete remodel of our master bathroom including demo, tile flooring, shower, recessed lights, bathtub, toilet, vanity, and everything else.

Overall, we love how the project turned out and will definitely consider them for our next project.

Reliability: 10/10
Eitan kept the project on track and was super communicative. Horizon was able to get the job done in the expected time frame (despite a lot of complications from the pandemic shut down and from Home Depot failing three times to send us a tub without a crack in it).

Cost: 7/10
We received three quotes from general contractors in the area. Horizon was the most expensive but was close to the next highest price bid.

Quality: 9/10
We are very pleased with how everything was installed and looks. We had a lot of tile work done and quality of the install really stands out. There were a couple teensy things we had to catch ourselves and ask for touch ups.

Horizon did a terrific job on a complete makeover of our master bathroom (including the shower, jacuzzi, flooring, counter-tops, sinks, and cabinetry) and the replacement of all kitchen cabinetry, drawers, and sink. This was a big project for us -- so it was important to select a contractor who was reliable, had all the right skill sets, and was committed to quality. Horizon delivered on all fronts with flying colors!

We found Horizon through Angie’s List. After reading comments on Angie’s List and on many other web sites such as BBB and Yelp, we decided to get estimates from Horizon and three other service providers. After our initial interview with each prospective provider, we concluded that Horizon provided the most comprehensive services at pricing that was very competitive.

Our project involved a variety of skillsets including woodworking, plumbing, electrical, tile installation, fabrication and cutting of counter-top surfaces, and finishing and painting. Rather than hiring a jack-of-all trades, Horizon delivered highly skilled craftsmen in each field who completely embraced Horizon’s expectations for quality.

Our Horizon project manager David was instrumental to the success of our project. David did a great job coordinating and supervising the work of each of the craftsmen. David was very responsive and easy to reach when questions arose. David was on site regularly to inspect progress and assure that the craftsmen met Horizon’s high expectations for quality. On occasions when David noted items requiring special attention, the craftsmen were eager to respond. David was also very responsive and attentive to all observations we shared as the project progressed. It was clear that the craftsmen all shared Horizon’s deep commitment to quality. The craftsmen were also very courteous and productive throughout the duration of our project.

We are very pleased with the end-product and the process Horizon followed from start to finish (including design suggestions and assistance with surface material selections). Thank you very much to all of the Horizon project team (including the back-office team) for a job well done!

David Eskin, one of the Company's owners served as our Project Manager. It
was beneficial to have someone with a vested interest in the Company be
directly involved in our project. The fact that the company is family owned
was one of the reasons we selected Horizon. David was always attentive to
our inquiries and questions.

Workmanship:
The quality of the work product and the level of craftsmanship was
excellent. The project's main features were added electrical, custom-built
cabinetry, and tile faced walls and counters. All features were done to
outstanding quality.

Professionalism:
All the people involved with Horizon and the contractors were respectful and
great to deal with. They were always open to suggestions as well as making
recommendations. Each phase of the project was done with respect to our home
and maintaining cleanliness.

Lessons Learned:
Tiles - The tile used from the project was selected from the sample in the
showroom. The sample tile did not have any "Blemishes" that ultimately
showed up in installed tiles as part of the tile's design. In the end it is
not all that noticeable, but we would have liked the option to possibly
select another design. Lesson Learned; always look at the full case of
tiles.

Schedule:
the time of signing the contract in the early part of November
we would not have expected that the project would not be completed until
mid-January. Some of the schedule extension was because we made some changes
to the original scope. Other aspects were the difficulty in sequencing each
project phase due to lack of availability of contractors on a timely basis.
Also attempting completion during the holidays had its challenges. Lesson
Learned; avoid the holidays to try and complete a project within expected
timeframe.

I hired Mark Besnos and Enna of Horizon Construction and Remodeling in the spring of 2019 to do a complete kitchen remodel which included removing a load bearing wall and removing a gas fireplace. The actual construction began with the demolition in mid-July and the job was completed the last week of October. I had a great experience overall despite the usual stresses of a home remodeling project (and living in the house during construction). Mark listened to my ideas and concerns and he helped me bring the beach cottage home of my dreams to fruition. He was very knowledgeable and gave me great advice on every aspect of the project. Mark and Enna invited me to their showroom in Fullerton and showed me a wide variety of materials (flooring, tile, Quartz, cabinetry, etc.) to choose from. I appreciated Mark’s attention to detail, thorough explanation of our contract, extensive resources, and consistent open communication. Mark was the project manager for my remodel and he was onsite regularly to oversee his crew. I always felt as though my project was Mark and Enna’s top priority. Any time I had a question or concern, Mark and/or Enna, promptly took my call or immediately called me back. Mark was committed to keeping the project on schedule as much as possible, even when unforeseen delays occurred due to materials being held up. He always had a plan B to keep things moving. All of his crew members were very reliable, courteous, and dedicated. Many of his crew members even came to my house on weekends. I am extremely happy with my new, improved, expansive kitchen, living, and dining room. I absolutely love it! A huge Thank You to Mark, Enna, the incredible office staff (Genesis and Vanessa) and to all of the skilled craftsmen at Horizon for creating a beautiful home for my family!

This is our second project together with Horizon Construction and remodeling and we have been very pleased with the work done. Mark was there all the way to supervise the workers. The workers showed up on time, did excellent work and cleaned up after. Would recommend them for your remodeling jobs

Horizon construction & Remodeling remodeled/updated both my master and the main bathrooms, which were in their original mid-60s construction state. David Eskin and his team of tradesmen helped bring my vision to fruition. As with any project, once the walls were opened up, some revisions were required; based upon their expertise and experience, Horizon was able to provide a few suggestions and a few “tweaks” to address these revisions. I couldn’t be happier with the results! Both bathrooms are much more functional and beautiful!
Horizon also did some minor improvements in my laundry area – again improving the functionality and looks!
Note: Remodeling costs did not cover much of the material costs. I had already selected and/or purchased some of the building materials; I did research and purchase much of the remaining materials (tub, vanities, tiles). Horizon does have its own showroom, and could have provided these at an additional cost. However, because I already had a firm idea as to what I wanted, I handled the ordering of these myself.

After checking out many others, we decided to choose Horizon Construction and Remodeling because of all the great reviews. After meeting the staff, our project manager David Eskin and reading all the positive reviews we knew we made the right decision. The staff is wonderful. Very caring, respectful and honest. Our kitchen turned out beautiful. We are very happy with the outcome!

Demolition was right on schedule and the crew was excellent, very fast and left the job neat at the end of the day. We did however encounter a set back which caused a long pause after demolition. This lengthened the job quite a bit and added additional expense and inconvenience (we feel) could have been avoided with a more through inspection (pre-demo).
All the staff at Horizon are great to work with. David our project manager is terrific. He is easy to work with and very helpful. He provided suggestions that were very helpful and added to the beauty of our job. There were times he could have lost his patience because of my indecisiveness but never once did! He’s a true gentleman.
Caesar our cabinet maker is a master at his trade. We love his work and are so pleased with our cabinets!

We recently had our 2500 square foot home remodeled by Horizon Construction & Remodel, which included the kitchen, master bath, flooring, lighting, paint, fireplaces, millwork, plumbing and tile. We contacted a total of four general contractors, all of whom were within the same approximate price range, however, after meeting with Mike Roppo, we decided to sign a contract with Horizon and we’re glad we did! Mike was our Project Manager and he did an excellent job overseeing and managing the entire project from start to finish. He is professional, knowledgeable, personable and made sure that everything was done right! He was quick to respond to phone calls, texts, and emails and came by to check the work often. We are retired so we were able monitor the work as it was being completed. At times issues would arise, but whenever we expressed a concern, Mike was prompt to resolve it, making sure that all work was done to our complete satisfaction and that no corners were cut. All of the contractors that worked in our home were very experienced and good at what they did! We were especially impressed with Hector who painted the entire inside of the house, and Victor who did all of the tile and marble work in the master bath, kitchen, and fireplaces. Also Ulyses (plumbing), Hugo (flooring), Caesar (countertops), and Tomar (electrician), were all excellent at their crafts. The process of remodeling our entire home took five months and everything turned our beautiful! Horizon Construction & Remodel is an excellent company that stands behind their work and prides themselves in customer satisfaction!

We had our kitchen entirely re-done by Horizon Construction & Remodeling. Horizon replaced our cabinets, sink, inserted a backsplash, rewired our receptacles to meet current code and repainted the walls. They also installed recessed lighting under the cabinets which really brings out the ambiance of the kitchen overall. It was a complex operation and they project-managed it flawlessly. They took a lot of time to truly understand what we wanted and then provided examples and expertise to help guide us to our final decisions. We could not recommend them more for anyone looking to remodel their kitchen.

This my experience with Horizon Construction and Remodeling,
and why I recommend them.
This is the second time that I have hired a contractor. The first time was a bathroom remodel, and it was a disaster, so I was very apprehensive about hiring another contractor. We needed to remodel our kitchen, so I had no choice. I did my due diligence and research and called three companies to interview. All three I had no prior knowledge of or experience with. Out of the three bids, there was a high, a medium, and a low.
After talking to them one more time I went with the medium bid company. That company is called Horizon Construction and Remodeling. It turns out I made the right choice. My experience with this company is the complete opposite from my first experience with a contractor.
My Project Manager was Mark, who did an outstanding job of keeping the project moving quickly efficiently. His crews showed up on time, were professional and did quality work, from plumbing to electrical to framing to painting to cabinets all were done to my satisfaction. If something was not done to my satisfaction (which was rare), I just let Mark know about it and he would send someone to either redo or touch-up the work. Mark would visit the job site frequently.
I feel Mark is honest and has his customer’s best interest at heart. There were a couple of times when he could have charged me extra money for items that came up during the project, but he did not.
Like any project we had to make some changes along the way, and Mark is very willing to work with you to make sure that you get what you want. Mark will listen to your ideas plus he has many ideas himself. He helped us a lot with our kitchen design.
They started my project Oct. 11, 2001. My wife and I were hoping to have the project done by Christmas. They had it done in 7 weeks in time for Thanksgiving!
The inside staff is led be Enna. They make sure everything is ordered on time. They even arrange for inspections. They are very polite and efficient and responsive.
We are doing our doors and windows next and we going to have Horizon Construction and Design do the work.
I recommend Horizon Construction and Design; I give them a strong 10.

We recently remodeled our Master bathroom and chose Horizon Construction & Remodeling in Fullerton to do the job. Overall, we had a great experience! We were given a fair price for our remodel and the quality of work was excellent. Everyone we worked with was polite, courteous and professional. We recently just finished a remodel of two bathrooms using Horizon for the project. They were easy to work with and worked hard to accommodate a house with four people working from home. Working with their design team, installers, and trades people, the entire project came together without issue. They even helped us by doing some things out of order to ease the burden of a family of four using just one working bathroom. But the real payoff was in the end product. I recently remodeled my house and was sorely disappointed. I was a bit gun shy to try again, but changed my mind after being stuck by home during the covid lockdown.

I decided to find a new contractor, and was lucky enough to find Mark Besnos, the owner of Horizon Construction and Remodeling.

Mark was able to make my vision a reality, which was no small task. He worked with my designer, Misti Riedel, the owner of Style Haven Interiors and I and had the patience of a saint. This time around, it was an enjoyable experience.

I wake up every morning and walk out into the main living area with a big smile on my face. Before Mark remodeled, my place was so drab.

We worked with Mark and his amazing team to complete the addition on our home. His team was able to help us through planning stage and come up with a layout that made sense, they dealt with the city to get the project approved, and completed the addition timely. We visited their showroom and found the perfect flooring to complete the look we wanted in our home. The only delays we had was due to the city slowly approving the plans. Mark and his team were great at communicating throughout the project and we absolutely love how the addition turned out!

We were very happy with the work done by Horizon
Construction on our remodeling project. We love our 1954
suburban home, but the two bathrooms were in serious need
of updating. Horizon started work and we immediately knew
we were in good hands. The workmanship on the floor and
shower tile was superb. In our master bath we had custom tiles
installed in the shampoo shelf that made our shower really
shine. The workers in charge of painting, vanity installation
and plumbing were very friendly and professional. We felt
very comfortable having them in our house. They answered
questions and communicated their progress to us. The overall
job was done in a timely manner and we were always informed
of any delays.
David the project manager kept us updated throughout the
entire process and helped us to realize our vision of a
southwestern style guest bathroom. He took care of all the
paperwork with our city's permit process. We were given
notice of any delays and he responded to texts immediately.
On one occasion, while we were shopping for vanities at a local
warehouse, he texted with us for over half an hour to make
sure we got the right one. Halfway through the project we
decided to re-pipe our entire house and David made that
happen. His plumbing crew had the re-pipe done in two days.
We feel confident recommending Horizon for your remodeling
needs. They respected our house and it showed in their work.
We can't wait to show off our new bathrooms to friends and
family!

Horizon completed a 450 square foot addition on our house that included moving an exterior wall and reworking the roof line to add a bathroom and expand three bedrooms. This project took place from July 2019 to November 2019. Our primary criteria for selecting a construction company was familiarity with working with our city, timeliness, and quality of work performed.

We are very happy with the final product of this project. The finished work provided by Horizon Construction is beautiful and works well within our high end home. The craftsmen used for the detail work were top notch, and the projects that needed to match existing finishes in the house look nearly flawless in their integration. We did not have any problems with permitting the plans or with passing the inspections with the city so there were no hold ups time wise because of inspection issues.

When any hiccups did occur, as they occur in any remodel or home project, Horizon was very quick to correct them to the best of their ability or propose solutions that would result in the same high end product we were looking for. The customer service provided was quite good.

David is a great project manager and was very attentive. He made sure any and all concerns were addressed promptly and that questions were answered in a very timely manner. He was great about working with me in regards to our timeline and making the process of living through the project as painless as possible.

In short, I am quite happy that we chose Horizon Construction for our addition project and would absolutely recommend them.
