My experience with Roto-Rooter was incredibly disappointing and deeply frustrating. I initially called them for a plumbing issue, and after multiple visits, they failed to diagnose the actual problem—a broken sewer line. It took three additional plumbers to finally identify and resolve the issue, but by then, I had spent the entire summer unable to live in my own home due to their oversight.

What made matters even worse was that during this time, I discovered that my jewelry went missing. While I had no hard evidence (such as indoor cameras) to prove what happened, it’s something I can’t overlook. I regret trusting that a locked jewelry cabinet would be safe in my home. This experience taught me a hard lesson—never leave anyone unsupervised in your home, no matter how reputable they claim to be.

Overall, I deeply regret using Roto-Rooter. Their inability to properly diagnose the issue and the added stress of missing personal belongings has left me with a lasting negative impression. I would not recommend their services and encourage others to proceed with caution.

I had called because my water heater stopped working. They told me that a plumber would call within 24 hours to schedule service. After 24 hours had passed I called again and they told me that they’re busy and they will leave a message for the plumber and notify them it’s urgent. It’s now been another 24 hours and I have been having to use my neighbors shower. I would go with another company; unfortunately this is the only company that my water heater company referred me to for the recall of my water heater.

Update: has now been 5 days with no hot water and when I call the only response I get is a plumber will call me when available.

Excellent plumbing company. Darnell is my go to plumber. I have hired them many times, and I am never disappointed. From installing water heaters, repairing water heaters, and most recently solving a rental's backed up sewer back up problem.

Since moving to Modesto, our house has had several plumbing problems requiring professional assistance. Darnell has come out promptly to fix everything such as toilets that refuse to drain properly, replacing a broken water heater, and he even fixed the drain on our clothes washer. I think the clothes washer was the worst problem, yet he took care of it in less than a day.

I have been trying to get a water heater burner replaced for over 3 months. Working with the manufacturer, they kept giving me companies that did not service my area, took a message and never called back, wanted to charge me destination fees, or flat out did not have the parts, and did not sound like they wanted the job. Since I was able to re-light my burner when it went out I was more patient, but I knew it was on borrowed time. After calling companies, sporadically over a 3 month period, my burner went out again and wouldn't light. So, I called back another one of the companies that previously didn't have time and they referred me to 3D Green Plumbing for the warranty work. They told me, the company always has the parts available. Bear in mind, there are a lot of recalls for this area. My whole subdivision got this defective water heater. I was able to get an appointment. Yes, it took a bit of back and forth, but also understanding of their busy schedule, but they were very courteous and polite and they understood my frustration. When the tech came over, they could not have been more polite. I was not home, so I remotely opened the garage for them to do their work, and my wife came home soon thereafter. She said they were extremely professional and polite. They also were kind enough to bring in a heavy package (a dresser) into the garage for her. Even with that, they had the control module and burner replaced within 30 minutes. I know the scheduling and response can be better, but overall, they are very courteous, professional and experienced. I will definitely use this company again.

After PG&E came out and determined there was a recall on my hot water heater, 3D plumbing came to the rescue. The woman in the office was very kind and efficient. They made time the same day to take care of the service call. I would definitely call them in the future if I had any issues.

Excellent service. Called their number and talked to Cathy, a very nice lady. She was so friendly. Darnell called me back a few hours later to set up an appointment to service my tankless water heater. He showed up on time and did an excellent job while answering my questions and explaining things to me. I appreciated his professionalism and how knowledgeable he was. Installed valves on a tankless water heater. Both developed leaks shortly thereafter due to use or faulty parts that I had to fix myself. Then I noticed the valves were backwards--the hot water safety valve was on the cold water intake. When 3D returned to fix it, they did a complete swap and the cold water intake was attached to the hot water output. I had to fix it.

Moving forward, I will never again purchase an appliance from a "big box" retailer utilizing their contractor. Reed, the owner of blue collar plumbing told us one price. He then asked for more money. We agreed with a signed work order, then he asked for even more money. He is trying to get rich off of his customers by being a poor businessman and not sticking to his word. His word obviously means nothing.
