Got a brand new roof installed on a 1920s home in City Heights. Great communication, fair and transparent pricing, and very efficient project management! They had a big team working together to get our job done in 2 days. All the workers I interacted with were very friendly and professional. Ascent Roofing was referred to us by friends and the experience was wonderful. I would absolutely use them again.

Ascent Roofing completed a full roof replacement to a house in my neighborhood. I saw daily the progress made and the quality of the completed roof. For this reason I scheduled an estimate for my house. I was greeted by Mr. Jose Macias Project Manager / Estimator. After a review of my roofing needs, Mr. Macias inspected the roof and discussed his findings and my options. I was provided with a formal written proposal detailing all expenses, materials, clean up, labor and disposal costs. Mr. Macias clearly explained services offered by Ascent Roofing, such as roof replacement, repairs and financing offered. Ascent roofing finished our roof replacement this week. They were awesome. The job was finished a day early, and the company was very professional and responsive. From the very first phone call, Carlos provided wonderful customer service. I chose this company from 3 bids because of the great customer service and price. I would highly recommend this company!

We hired Ascent Roofing to replace the underlayment on our roof, based on the recommendation of a friend who had used them previously. We mostly just interacted with Carlos and his father Jose, they were both very knowledgeable and easy to work with. Their team got the roof done in less time than originally planned. Also, we have solar panels on our roof, and our solar company has become unreachable/out of business in the years since the install, so we didn't have anyone to handle the panel removal/reinstall. Jose was able to remove our panels and then put them back up after the re-roof, and the system is back to working just as well as it did before. We are very happy with the job Ascent Roofing did, and would recommend them to anyone needing work done on their roof.

Bought my first house and my inspector let me know that my roof was end of life. There were also over 20 solar panels on the roof making this not a super simple replacement. Isaiah was my project manager and was absolutely superb. Other Roofers told me the project would take 5 days, Isaiah and his team had the roof completed in 2 and done very well for a very competitive price. The lead on the second day gave me a walkthrough upon completion to make sure I was happy with the work. There was a slight hiccup reconnecting the panels (one panel was not generating power) but without question Isaiah had his solar team back out working until they solved the issue. I will be recommending Ascent to anyone I know looking for a roof.

I recently had Ascent complete a full reroof of my 2 story home. My home is about 3400 square feet with three separate roof sections and a solar system. From the first meeting they were great. After discovering a leak, I scheduled Josue to provide estimates on fixing the leaking portion or doing the entire roof. The day of the estimate I had a conflict arise and Josue easily rescheduled for the next day. He arrived on time and from the first conversation I found him very pleasant. His pricing was very competitive. All their references checked out and confirmed the competitive pricing and their satisfaction.

Once I signed the contract, within hours I was contacted by Isaiah who was the job scheduler. I was impressed just how quickly he called me to schedule the job for about a week in the future. This was important as there were a series of storms reported about a two weeks out. As promised his full crew arrived at 7am on the start date and began the disassembly. Every day for about a week (except Sunday) a full crew of 5 was on my roof. They were all very polite ands courteous to my wife and kids. They worked everyday from 7-4ish. Everyday, before they left, they made sure to clean up the work area around the home. Isaiah provided me with nightly reports of the progress his crew was making. He explained what to expect the following day...and he was right every time. As part of the job they had to remove my solar panels. They were reinstalled in the same working order as before the job. Isaiah promised my roof would be water tight every night just in case the rain came early. The job was completed on time and 2 hours before a 4 day rain storm. There were no leaks!

I have had poor experiences with prior contractors where only partial crews would show up. So I was impressed when everyday a full crew was present. I commend Ascent for having the full crew show up and finishing the job on time.

Another point I want to mention is their support team is stellar. Ascent was extremely helpful pulling permits from the city of San Marcos. Their patience dealing with the city's bureaucracy was amazing.

To sum up, they are friendly, honest, skilled and on time! I definitely highly recommend them.

They recently completed a full roof replacement on our home and we appreciate the skill and professionalism afforded to my husband and me. Proceed with caution when working with Ascent Roofing. I had multiple issues with the company, (formerly known as Alpha Roofing).
1) When my roof was redone in 2019 to prepare for a solar installation, the contract workers hired left clear water bottles filled with urine around the roof and publicly visible areas of my driveway. The issue was resolved when I talked to Carlos about it.
2) There is a lack of follow through with communication for repairs. Around December 2023 I noticed a leak in my roof, I tried contacting Carlos via email and found out that the email address changed. When I contacted via phone, Carlos texted me that he would check out the issue on a Tuesday. Without a visit, Carlos gave me a quote via text of about $600 to possibly get the roof fixed and to have me verify if there truly is a leak. Carlos never came to visit as initially agreed upon, and I waited until January 2024 to reconnect with Carlos when I saw that there truly was a leak. I contacted Carlos on a Monday and was informed that I would be contacted few days to schedule a repair. I had no contact for a week. When I reached out the following Monday, I still hadn't receive any contact from Ascent Roofing until I posted a 2-star Google review. Within 15 minutes of posting a review, I received a call from Carlos and a planned visit for that afternoon.
3) Repairs were done but not to satisfactory. Although there was a 3rd party project on my roof that possibly contributed to the leak, Carlos's father, Jose, proceeded to repair the area of the leak. However, weeks after the repairs were done, my husband checked the roof and noticed shingles were not fixed in place appropriately.
4) Before repairs were done to my roof, Carlos asked me to change my Google review on the company. When I made changes to my review (from 2 stars to 4), Carlos was not satisfied and requested I takey review down if I had an ounce of a negative experience in the review. Being incentived to remove my review and thinking there was nothing for me to gain by leaving the review up, I deleted my Google review on the company.
5) In March 2024, I reported to Carlos about another leak in the roof and scheduled an appointment to have it assessed. When I requested for a time after 4 p.m., Carlos texted me that he could not accommodate because of a commitment to take his kids to practice at 5:15. On the agreed upon date and time of the assessment appointment, Carlos informed me that he was running behind. Carlos didn't arrive at my home until around 6:45 p.m. Not only was he over two hours late from the scheduled appointment, he quoted my husband $450 for the repair for work that could have been prevented had rotten wood been replaced in 2019.
The unprofessional communication practice and desire to be perceived as a competent and consumer oriented company is amazing. Be wary when working with Ascent Roofing. I'm glad many people have had positive experiences. I, unfortunately, have had multiple misses with them.

Ascent Roofing is AMAZING! We had over eight companies come and give us bids…Ascent was the most professional and was the best value. They gave us a projected start date and they actually started on that date! Their crew was so professional and I have never seen a more efficient process! Our roof
is massive and they had it done in TWO days. They also fixed our facia etc. We have dealt with a lot of contractors over the decades and Ascent Roofing was one of the best experiences! Five stars all the way!

This review is a long time coming as it’s been several months but I have to say how amazing Ascent roofing has been for our home and family. We had a consultation with Josue who took the time to address our concerns and patiently answer the million questions I had. The installation crew was professional, friendly and worked fast. Saira helped navigate through all the paperwork and explained everything so I felt confident before signing my life away on such a large investment. On top of that, the price was very competitive, especially living in such an expensive city. We installed solar panels but our roof was over 25 yrs old so we had to replace it. Ascent Roofing came in and gave us a reasonable estimate. The work that Mr. Carlos Alfaro, proprietor, and his crew performed was flawless and on time. They tore down the double layer shingles, replaced the dated and unsightly whirly bird vents and replaced them with the Ohagin-type flushed vents, and installed Corning's 50-yr warranty roofing materials. They were very professional, polite, and made sure that everything was according to code and to our satisfaction.

Ascent Roofing was amazing to work with, from the time they first showed up till the job was completed. Everything was straight to the point, they came and gave a quote, no upselling no "let me talk to the boss and see how much we can lower the price" and got the job done in 2 days which was amazing since I had concrete tiles. They showed us what was wrong with our old roof and even pointed where we had leaks which was spot on. If anyone is looking to get their roofs fixed or entirely replaced, Ascent Roofing is definitely the guys to get the job done. Our 60’s townhome’s roof was fifteen years out of warranty and had developed leaks in six areas. We sought multiple roof bids based on our HOA’s new set of architect plans, to ensure that bids included all the same components. We chose Ascent Roofing and are very happy with their work, the staff, the price. They went above and beyond and provided excellent communication from the first phone call with the support staff and estimator through final billing.
